In ihren Beiträgen zur KSZE haben die Maghrebländer die Wechselbeziehungen zwischen der Sicherheit in Europa und im Mittelmeer unterstrichen. Sie haben die Notwendigkeit betont, den Entspannungsprozeß auf das ganze Mittelmeer auszudehnen und die Hoffnung ausgedrückt, daß die auf der KSZE ausgearbeiteten Prinzipien der internationalen Beziehungen in gleicher Weise für KSZE-Teilnehmer- und Nichtteilnehmerstaaten angewendet werden. Nach 1975 haben die drei Maghrebländer ihre Vertreter weiter zu den jeweiligen Treffen der KSZE (Belgrad, Madrid, Wien) entsandt, aber sie waren weder auf dem Expertentreffen 1979 in Valetta noch 1984 auf dem Seminar in Venedig zu Fragen des Mittelmeeres vertreten, die im Rahmen der KSZE stattfanden.
