The core goal of this research is to verify how the application of the "web language" used in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), over the mathematical symbolic language, can interfere in the interpretation of mathematical problems formulated with the use of the web language. For answering this question, a qualitative research mixed with quantitative aspects that can contribute for understanding the phenomena's involved was held. The analysis of the data researched permitted to conclude that the web language, conjugated to the media on it is inserted, can bring problems of interpretation and comprehension about the statements of the problems. It is realized that the difficulties are more evident when the computer media is used, rather than the paper media. The subjects manage to interpret in a correct way the statements proposed in the web language, and they also manage to use the computer to solve problems that utilize mathematical symbology, as long as they have access to the necessary resources. The junction of the computer media and the web language presented difficulties to the participating subjects in the research. For remedying or minimizing these problems, it is suggested that should occur an improvement in the communication between the user and the text presented to him. To comply with this suggestion, the texts used in VLE must be elaborated so that they are suitable to the form of reading practiced on the web. The use of these resources in the writing of the text, if it doesn't guarantee the elimination of the problems observed, can open a new perspective of the analysis for these problems.
The history of language acquires throughout the Essay on the origin of languages the progress of an accelerated fall in corruption. There is a primitive language that degenerates and changes itself: a process of formation and a deformation. As Rousseau in his reflections identifies - both in origin and in structure - music and language, the loss of expressive power that occurs in languages also affects music and these two corruptions go together, so that both move away from the music language or the sung word from the beginning. The corruption of music and languages corresponds to the erasing of its expressive power and refers to an autonomization of artificial harmony, to the increase of the consonants, of the articulations, of the rationality, to the practice of writing, as well as to the historical, political, economic and social development. All these processes must be taken into account in an analysis of idiom and language. However, it is possible to isolate each one methodologically. Hereupon, the proposal of this article is to investigate the role of writing in the process of corruption and degeneration of languages.
This article presents the importance of Goethe's and Spengler's morphology for the development of a morphology of language in Wittgenstein's work, after his return to Cambridge and philosophy in 1929. In fact, according to Norman Malcolm's testimony, present in 'Ludwig Wittgenstein: A memoir', Wittgenstein says, in the course of his lectures about philosophical psychology, which took place between 1946 and 1947, that what his philosophy try to give is the 'morphology of the use of an expression'. The development of a 'morphology of the use of an expression' in Wittgenstein would become the result of the application to the domain of language of the concept of morphology applied by Goethe, in his scientific writings, to the domain of nature and by Oswald Spengler to the field of the universal history, as one sees in the work 'The Decline of the West - Sketch of a Morphology of the History of the World', which constitutes for Wittgenstein one of the sources to access fundamental aspects of Goethe's morphology. Throughout Wittgenstein's writings one finds several references to the thoughts of Goethe and Spengler which enable us to understand in what extent the works of these two thinkers constitute the basis for the construction of a wittgensteinian morphology of language. Thus, taking all these elements into consideration, we'll try to elucidate to what extent Wittgenstein's morphological-philosophical method after 1929 is the re-elaboration of fundamental aspects of the morphological tradition present in the works of Goethe and Spengler.
; This paper aimed to describe the language policy developed by The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA) and to discuss the agency of its fellows to the spread Brazilian Portuguese in higher education institutions in the USA. Based on the theoretical notion of language policy as a process (RICENTO; HORNBERGER, 1996; JOHNSON, 2013; JOHNSON; JOHNSON, 2015), we analyzed a corpora consisting of documentary data, information gathered through telephone calls and e-mails, and semi-structured interviews with members of the Fulbright Commission Brazil and former Brazilian FLTAs. This is a qualitative-interpretative study (LIN, 2015) of the texts-discourses that are part of the corpora. The results show the levels and the main agents that are part of this language policy – from the US government to the Brazilian teachers – as illustrated using the onion metaphor with concentric circles that indicate the several layers where these agents act. Results also found there is little formalization of a language policy education for foreign/additional languages by the FLTA Program. This makes the Brazilian FLTAs, who act sometimes collectively and sometimes individually, the main force to form a language policy to spread Brazilian Portuguese in the USA.
In this article we discuss the production of genres, mediated Didactic Sequence methodology through which to teach modularly a genre. Our goal is to demonstrate that the teaching of genres developed modularly can assist students in building properly texts. Thus, we describe part of an experiment carried out in a high school public school, in which students of 2nd year produced a movie review to be published in school and in a blog. For this, we base in authors like (Dolz et al., 2010) and (Bronckart, 2007), who consider language as a form of interaction and the genre as a tool through which students are able to develop the capabilities of language. Research shows that the Didactic sequence enabled the students grasp the knowledge required for proper writing addressed genre.
The discourse is an essential atribute os man, fundamental for the coexistence of individuals and for the construction of a collective space. Hannah Arendt points out the importance of language for the edification of the word as a language for the edification of the word as a collective construction. The article investigates the political dimensions of language. For us, this theme offers a key to Reading Arendt's political theory, we highlight the relation between action and discours. In the same way, we underline the possibility of the antipolitical use of language, highlighting the ideology and the lie. Finally, we discursed the importance oh the mother tongue to share the word. Whice reinforces the perception that the common space is only possible as an object of action, discourse and dialogue.
