Leonhard in Tamsweg. ; This Master Thesis deals with the 'golden window' in the St. Leonhards church in Tamsweg. The window dates back to 1433 and is an endowment by the Archbishop of Salzburg Johann II. Reisperger. The stained glass has numerous far-reaching stylistic and motivic influences. The iconographic analysis opens up a large variety of possible interpretations. The Eucharistic level of impact as well as the presentation of basic teachings of the Catholic Christianity are the primary interpretations.Considering the lack of comparisons it can be stated that the stained glass actually has a unique, colored design. Although the grisaille- as well as the gold- windows in the abbey church Altenberg should be mentioned as a possible source of inspiration. In relation to architectural windows of the time the 'golden window' is still on segue to this new form of glass window, but the advanced connection is unmistakable. The affiliation with the Hostienmühl-window can bring a tremendous political dimension to the 'golden window. In the time of the Hussite Wars, the endowment by the Archbishop can be interpreted as an ecclesio-political representation, so the statement of the window is inseparably interwoven with the historical context. The singularity in color, the iconographic statement in the Eucharistic center of the church, the Archbishops endowment in one of the most significant pilgrimage churches of the Middle Ages in Austria as well as the historical events provide the 'golden window not only aesthetic particularity but a vast political significance. The Archbishops enhancement as well as his power influence were and still is presented in a very impressive way by the unique color scheme of the 'golden window'. ; vorgelegt von Gréta Mikos ; Zusammenfassungen in Deutsch und Englisch ; Abweichender Titel laut Übersetzung des Verfassers/der Verfasserin ; Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, Masterarbeit, 2018 ; (VLID)3364385
