The Sociocultural Animation Project "Active Ageing in a Retirement Home" designs Animation as an integral part the daily life of the institution and its residents. Using this approach we hope to improve quality of life for residents, promoting an environment that helps elderly people live their closing years in an active and satisfactory way. We conclude that Sociocultural Animation is a mode of intervention in all aspects of the life of the elderly, and it is a permanent stimulus for mental, physical and emotional capacities. It acts in facilitating access to a more active and creative life, improves communication in relationships with others, encouraging better preparation for life in a community and it develops personal autonomy.
This article seeks to discuss the vision of the 'social' in the field called social determinants of health. For this, bibliographical research was conducted, based on references from the field of human sciences, by authors such as Latour (2012) and Santos (1988). It begins with a general characterization of the field of social determinants of health, especially political and scientific views. Then, it presents the critical elements characterizing paths on the thinking of these authors. The study sought to highlight reductionism increasingly present in the approach to the field of social determinants of health. These reductionisms that ultimately limit further reading about the complexity of life in society and reinforce the commodification and trivialization of life. Santos (1988) notes that, in front of these reductionism, science cannot be merely producing a scientific paradigm, but also a social paradigm - the paradigm of a decent life. The thinking of Latour (2012) brought arguments to rethink the 'social' beyond a specific and limited domain of reality, as something always external to the subject and to their own health. The fragmented view of the field of social determinants of health is what we put into analysis and make inquiries as a way to raise future discussions on the topic.

ABSTRACT. Pedagogical guidelines for the education in/of/to the rural areas must be based on the socio-educational development and on a constant dialogue between scientific and empirical knowledge. In this context, our objective is to identify formative interlocutions in the rural/countryside education in undergraduate courses of Agricultural Sciences in Brazil, through the analysis of their Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPP). This is a qualitative research with a descriptive and exploratory approach. It focuses on the theoretical background about rural educational project. It is also a document-based study that has as its source data from Anísio Teixeira Platform, connected to the Ministry of Education, as well as PPP emitted by the higher education institutions. The criteria chosen to establish the study's time frame was the accessibility of the most recent information that were available during the process of information gathering – June, 2020. The results show that twelve of the studied courses had as their formative reference agricultural education – in terms of hegemonic production processes such as agribusiness, adopting a technicist approach. Only five of the studied courses were characterized by a formative framework aimed at the education of the rural areas – encompassing several expressions of rural life, such as family agriculture, peasantry and so forth. These courses make reference not only to these specific methodological approaches, but also to public policies related to this issue. Furthermore, we also identified in the institutions' PPP a chaotic duality of concepts of education in/of the rural areas, on the one hand, and agricultural education on the other; such chaotic mixture of concepts is prone to be reproduced in the praxis of the teachers. ; ABSTRACT. ; ABSTRACT. Based on the hypothesis that modified human beings will have successful life projects, the biopolitical presuppositions of genetic manipulation in modern society are reflected. Considering the theories presented by Michel Foucault (2005), Jürgen Habermas (2010), Michael J. Sandel (2013), Hans Jonas (2006) and Achille Mbembe (2014), a genetic Africanization of the economically disadvantaged population is identified. In this scenario, concepts of class and race are confused and social prejudice increases. Faced with the new technologies of genetic engineering, gene manipulation presents itself as a new face of biopower, since science now has the power to give life from the selection of characteristics considered superior. It is argued that the criticism surrounding the process of genetic manipulation is necessary as it opens the possibility of debating mutual recognition as a condition of life, above the identification of race or class, geographic location or other characteristics of the individuals that make up society.
Water is fundamental to life maintenance, being your distribution and quality control of great importance to the population, however, a part of the population do not have access to water with adequate quality. The present work has as objective evaluate theadequacy of the Water and Sewage Company of Ceará State (CAGECE) to the physicochemical and microbiological quality standards for public water supply in the municipality of Juazeiro do Norte, CE. Samples were collected in the years 2014 and 2015 by CAGECE and the monitoring was performed with 53 monthly samples, divided into two collections. It was done analyses of turbidity, free residual chlorine, total coliforms and Escherichia coli. The results of study show a worrisome situation about the quality of distributed water by the above-mentioned organ, mainly the results of microbiologic analysis. It shows the necessity of intensification in the monitoring and supervision of the conditions of water distribution in the city of Juazeiro do Norte, CE.
An adequate afforestation contributes to the discomfort reduction generated by heat. The present study was conducted in a residential block of mixed use in the northern region of the Palmascity. The aim of this work was to evaluate the vegetation influence, mainly cerrado trees, in the climate of the public square of the NS 15 avenue in 307 north. With the region trees inventory, the proper choice of the tree species was conducted. The measurements performed were: ambient, air and globe temperature, surface temperature, relative air humidity, luminosity, temperature and wind speed. With these variables, we were able to verify the behavior of the factors that make up the climate and thermal comfort in each situation. In addition, an open ground was used for comparison purposes.Computational simulations were carried out through the Envi-Met program, detecting afforestation influence zones in the studied area and its surroundings. Therefore, we highlight the vegetation relevance to get a thermally comfortable environment, once it collaborates with the microclimate stability, direct insolation reduction, lower winds speed, playing an important role in the cities environmental condition improvement and life quality.
The religious experience felt as the apprehension of an absolute reality that expression of the sacred can be established in specific and determined spaces, but inevitably dissolves often In everyday life through symbols and practices. Between flavors and aromas, pans and recipes, there is the possibility of developing more than a gastronomic experience, for the devotees Hare Krishna is the realization of a meeting with God and the manifestation in the practice of a theoretical conception. To understand this conversion of the seized in the ancient scriptures of Indian origin in the day-to-day life of a person living in Fortaleza is the main essence of this research, which will analyze how the categories of kindness, passion and ignorance in the dietary practices of this social group.
The thorough technical organization of the world corresponds to the age of consummate metaphysics - as Heidegger, but not Habermas, saw it - and to the instrumentalization of thought that automates human existence, making it entirely dependent on the calculus that moves the availability of everything in accordance with the will to power of the "inframing" (Gestell). The technification of life, with the constraints that derive from the rigidity of its own logic, is not a mere product or unfolding of the natural needs of the human made "subject" of technique. In this respect, the metaphysics of humanism - and its operative arm, modern science as technoscience - consists in the anthropology of the technical determination of the world by human volition.

In the 1970s & 1980s, migratory flows of Portuguese & luso-Africans from old Portuguese African colonies towards to Sao Paulo were the result of the pressures of difficult & complex African & Portuguese politics. Three very different cultural experiences were in play: that of the portuguese colony, the african context, & the Brazilian character of the destination, Sao Paulo. This paper explores the migrant's complex displacement experiences, the insertion of the migrant into the new context & the conflicts of identity that this migratory process entailed. We concentrate on the recent past, which has not been extensively researched. We use a method we call 'summarized life-histories', which seemed appropriate, as we didn't know what the immigrants would tell us. We present a number of specific cases to exemplify our analysis. Through them, we can see that memories refer to events, people & places from the three continents, through the conscious & unconscious construction of multiple identities.
At the dawn of the new millennium, Cuba is, once again, at a vital crossroad. After ruling the country for almost half a century, Fidel Castro was taken seriously ill & had to delegate its responsibilities as head of State & of Government to his constitutional successor, General Raul Castro. This event inaugurated the process of finding a new way to govern Cuban society, but it cannot be confused with what has become familiarly known, in the jargon of Political Science, as a "transition." This notion is too charged & suggests a change of regime, & we are not about to witness anything like that in Cuba. However, it seems obvious that changes will have to be introduced, both in the structure of government & in the way political life is organized. This essay will try to predict some of those changes taking as reference the "real existing" Cuban society. Adapted from the source document.

The use of nanoscale is currently growing. The state legislative regulation on the matter is inexistent. There is the rise of self-regulation, as well as the creation of norms by other social actors. The system of Law needs to enter in the context of innovation, granting legal effects to this regulatory production. The temporality of the new forms of regulation and the ability to deal with future risks and damages represent other challenges for the legal area. The analysis of publications from the OECD and the Web of Science showed that the risk theme is still little discussed in the main scientific journals. From these findings, we present a framework as an regulatory alternative and guideline for the industry that develops products from nanotechnology. Investments in research, categorization and risk analysis throughout the product life cycle is a necessary requirement to guide the governance, the regulation and the self-regulation of the issue.
