Participation of the Chinese community in Indonesian politics has been significant every year. In fact, not only as voters, currently there are Chinese legislative candidates who have successfully passed to the DPR. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the primordial attachment, party identification, and comprehension of the legislative candidates' program on the political choices of the Chinese community. This research was conducted using quantitative methods. Data were collected from 250 respondents through a questionnaire with google form which was distributed through social media. The questionnaire contains information needed for research including the choice of the respondent's party and respondent's response to statements regarding primordial attachment, party identification, and comprehension of legislative candidates' program. The results showed that of the three variables, only the comprehension of the legislative candidate's program had a relationship with Chinese community political choices. These results are in accordance with the theory of voting behavior with a rational approach by Anthony Downs, which assumes that voters in determine their choices will act rationally by considering the pros and cons of choosing a legislative candidate. In other words, the Chinese community who became the respondents in this research were rational because they could calculate the advantages and disadvantages of choosing a candidate by considering the programs offered by the legislative candidate.

This study analyzes China's economic sanctions to South Korea as a response to the cooperation of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD). This study uses qualitative research methods based on data obtained through literature studies sourced from descriptive books, journals and online media. This scientific article uses Decision Making Process Theory and the concept of economic sanctions in analyzing China's economic sanctions to South Korea as a response to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) cooperation. China applies economic sanctions based on internal and external factors. The geographical location of China in one East Asian region and side by side made China oppose the existence of THAAD because its radar system could penetrate into its territory so that it could disturb national interests and destroy regional security stability. Community support for the government is one of the reasons China has given economic sanctions to South Korea. The dependence of South Korea's economy on China which is its biggest trading partner makes economic sanctions very impacting on South Korea. China imposed economic sanctions to reject South Korea's policies regarding the cooperation of THAAD. China wants to reduce the capabilities of the South Korean military because it does not want the placement of THAAD to endanger the security of its country.

This study aims to analyze the government's disaster mitigation communication in this case the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of west Java Province in the face of earthquakes caused by the Lembang fault. This research was conducted using qualitative research method. The research approach is a case study, using Haddow's theory of disaster communication strategy. As the subject of his research is the Regional Disaster Management Agency of West Java Province (BPBD Jabar). This research data was obtained through in-depth interviews and Library studies. The results showed that disaster mitigation communication conducted by the Regional Disaster Management Agency of West Java Province (BPBD Jabar) has not been carried out to the maximum because it is not a top priority so it does not have a clear pattern in disaster mitigation communication, although it has held mitigation programs such as: 1. Socialization of disaster risk areas 2. Disaster response training 3. Installation of Road Maps and Evacuation Signs assisted by the community / disaster volunteers. 4. Create educational media for school children (video animation). 5. establish a disaster preparedness village. These programs have not been conducted intensively plus BPBD Jabar itself does not have a disaster mitigation communication team that focuses on providing understanding to the community regarding the risk of earthquake disasters due to the fault of lembang.

This study explores the role of leading newspapers of both America and Pakistan on the war-on-terror (WoT). The comparative framing analysis of the WoT in the selected newspapers Dawn (Pakistan) and The New York Times (USA) was carried out. Content analysis in which Categorization Scheme was used with predefined categories that were made on the basis of Framing theory. Five different news frames are deduced by Semetko and Valkenburg (2000) i.e. attribution of responsibility, human interest, conflict, morality, and economics were looked at in the selected newspapers. The coverage and framing of USA's press related to the war on terror were dominated by regional foreign politics especially the framing of Pakistan and its role in the war on terror. The mean length of the news stories in The New York Times (USA) was significantly more than Dawn. The New York Times (USA) carried a more negative tone than Dawn (Pakistan). Frames used in Dawn (Pakistan) and The New York Times (USA) did not have a statistically significant difference. The conflict frame was used more than any other frame in the coverage of WoT in both the newspapers. This study revealed that the coverage trend of media reporting on WoT in the press of both Pakistan and USA. Also how frames in the press used are subjective to the internal politics of country in order to receive a sense of legitimacy and support.

All around the world the COVID-19 pandemic is having an enormous impact on people's lives. Contrary to many other countries, Sweden has opted against lockdown. The Swedish Government has put trust in its people and has advised them to be responsible and follow the recommendations and guidelines of the Public Health Agency of Sweden. Using the Interest Theory of Rights, this article discusses the impact of the Swedish response to COVID-19 on three different Swedish communities, and considers the implications of such a strategy on social development. Data was collected from different national and international media sources as well as from Swedish authorities' websites. A qualitative content analysis was used to analyse the data with the help of ATLAS-ti.8.4. The findings section discusses how three community groups in Sweden—the elderly, immigrants from marginalised areas and prisoners—are having their rights altered during this pandemic period. It also outlines different social development approaches being used in Sweden for tackling the challenges relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. This article concludes that a strong democratic state is vital in managing a pandemic such as COVID-19. It also argues that the strength of a state largely depends on its citizens' willpower to take ownership of responsibilities—both individually and collectively.

This study aims to describe the form of collaborative governance between the Government of Yogyakarta City and the business sector, namely PT Gas Negara in realizing smart cities. The focus of this research is to describe the process of cooperation between the two parties (Government and Private) so that a memorandum of understanding is created to support smart city. This study uses the cross-sector collaboration theory of John M Bryson and Barbara C. Crosby who mentioned collaborative governance must pay attention to the process. This study uses a qualitative patterned research method, while the data from this study are obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, document analysis, media and literature. Data in this study were analyzed using data triangulation techniques. Following are some of the findings from this study. First, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk signed a memorandum of understanding with the Yogyakarta City Government in supporting the smart city program by providing infrastructure and utilizing natural gas as an alternative energy source. Second, PT PGN developed the PGN 360 Degree Integrated Solution service as a follow-up to the provision of electronic-based services and thirdly, the Yogyakarta City Government utilized the ICT services / provider of optical fiber networks owned by PT PGN as a support for smart cities.

Over the past decade, public policy initiatives have promoted public engagement with science, incentivized in part by the increased role of engagement in securing research funding. Many routes to engagement rely on schools and young people. Since the Apollo missions, human spaceflight has been advocated as a means of promoting such engagement. This paper presents a case study of how young people were engaged with human spaceflight during the Principia mission. Principia launched Britain's first government-funded astronaut to the International Space Station and had education and inspiring young people as a core objective. Drawing on actor-network-theory we trace the ways in which young people encountered human spaceflight through a qualitative empirical case study involving 113 children and 66 key informants including teachers, scientists, outreach providers and others involved in human spaceflight. Our findings have implications for policymakers and practitioners. We suggest a need for greater clarity over the role of live science in mediating science communication messages. If they are to succeed, science policy and outreach goals need to be aligned with existing school priorities. This can be achieved by paying attention to school planning cycles and making use of the affordances of social media for direct communication to teachers and young people.

Cultural and economic diplomacy are crucial and being prioritized in Indonesia's foreign policy. Coffee is one of the commodities used to promote Indonesian culture abroad while at the same time has a potential value to support the nation's economy. This article aims to describe the ways Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, conducts cultural and economic diplomacy through coffee and the involvement of state and non-state actors in Indonesia's coffee diplomacy. This paper uses a qualitative research method. The data used are collected from the Indonesian government official websites and national media coverages during the period of Joko Widodo's administration from 2014 to 2019. There are three main concepts used in this article, derived from the International Relations theory of diplomacy, namely: the concepts of issue areas; actors; and methods. This paper examines cultural and economic diplomacy as the issue areas, state and non-state actors as the actors, and bilateral and multilateral approaches as the methods of conducting diplomacy. The main findings of this paper are: (i) cultural and economic diplomacy through coffee diplomacy are connected to one another and conducted simultaneously; (ii) both bilateral and multilateral approaches are still relevant in conducting coffee diplomacy; (iii) both state and non-state actors are actively involved in conducting coffee diplomacy Keywords: Coffee, Cultural Diplomacy, Economic Diplomacy, Jokowi, Indonesia

Previous research studies have focused on patient outcomes related to healthcare interventions, but there is little research available regarding nurses' involvement in activities that would advance the profession. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses' (APRN) contributions to the healthcare system lead to direct improvement of patient outcomes through research, mentoring new professionals, and participating in professional organizations. The theoretical motivation behind the study is Ray's Theory of Bureaucratic Caring that proposed healthcare personnel consider incorporation of the business aspects of healthcare to propel nursing into the future. Ray dared nurses to become leaders in the field, understand the corporate aspects of health care, evolve bedside nursing through research activity, and build future nurse leaders with political and mentorship works. The study considers characteristics Ray demanded nurses take to control the future of the profession and advance the nurse's role in healthcare. The study will assess current level of involvement of APRNs in three activities that directly advance the profession. Survey questions will address demographic information and the degree of participation in the three specific activities. The study will use a quantitative approach through randomized surveys distributed through face-to-face encounters, Survey Monkey, social media, and email. Inclusion criteria is limited to practicing APRNs within any specialty with a master's level education or higher.

In literary fiction, white working-class characters are often represented as part of a homogenised group, complete with stereotypical behaviours and characteristics. Using Fredric Jameson's theory of the ideologeme to identify representational tropes of white working-class characters, this article analyses the juxtaposition of free-indirect discourse and first-person narration in Another London as a defamiliarisation technique to expose the ideologemes of white working-class literary representation. It then examines how, using practice-based research methodologies, the novel attempts to elicit empathy in the reader for the protagonist - an individuated white working-class character – and by doing so challenge the reader's assumptions about the lifestyles of members of this group. The reader's literary experience can translate into 'real-world' changes in their perception of, and assumptions about, the behaviours and lifestyles of members of the white working class, thereby challenging stereotypical representations in mainstream media and politics, as well as literature. Another London is a novel written as the creative component of a PhD Creative Writing. Set on a council estate in East London, it follows the social and psychological development of a white working-class boy into adulthood as he lives through fictionalised parallels of real-life events, which force him to confront his own ethnic and class identity.

The political party Kotlebovci – People's Party Our Slovakia (Kotlebovci – Ľudová strana Naše Slovensko) is a far-right political group in Slovakia. Though the Political Party of Marian Kotleba had previously been dissolved by the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, this marginal political party became aparliamentary political formation after the parliamentary elections in March 2016 when fourteen of their members won seats in the 150-member parliament. The Slovak President Andrej Kiska refused to invite its leader, Marian Kotleba, who was labelled as a fascist, to visit the statehouse. The media and analysts also frequently label this political party as extremist or fascist. It is not easy to evaluate the ideological and value orientation of political parties, but there are theoretical concepts presented by relevant authors such as Beyme, Mudde, Drábik and Mair. These ideas form the basis of our study. The study seeks to find the answer to the problematic question of whether or not it is possible to brand this party as (neo)fascist in terms of theory, methodology and terminology. There was a proposal by the General Prosecutor's Office to dissolve the current political party of Marian Kotleba. Therefore it is the responsibility of other social sciences such as political sciences or history, to help the state to intervene against the enemies of democracy and tolerance.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to facilitate understanding of how to mitigate the privacy concerns of users who have experienced privacy invasions.


Design/methodology/approach
Drawing on the communication privacy management theory, the authors developed a model suggesting that privacy concerns form through a cognitive process involving threat-coping appraisals, institutional privacy assurances and privacy experiences. The model was tested using data from an empirical survey with 913 randomly selected social media users.


Findings
Privacy concerns are jointly determined by perceived privacy risks and privacy self-efficacy. The perceived effectiveness of institutional privacy assurances in terms of established privacy policies and privacy protection technology influences the perceptions of privacy risks and privacy self-efficacy. More specifically, privacy invasion experiences are negatively associated with the perceived effectiveness of institutional privacy assurances.


Research limitations/implications
Privacy concerns are conceptualized as general concerns that reflect an individual's worry about the possible loss of private information. The specific types of private information were not differentiated.


Originality/value
This paper is among the first to clarify the specific mechanisms through which privacy invasion experiences influence privacy concerns. Privacy concerns have long been viewed as resulting from individual actions. The study contributes to literature by linking privacy concerns with institutional privacy practice.

Narratology as a general narrative theory applies to the analysis of artistic and historical texts. At the same time, it can be successfully applied to the analysis of television scenarios, because it allows you to see the general course of the proposed history, determine the television picture of the world, and, perhaps, more broadly, media reality. The reconstruction of the TV show model can be useful for the subsequent implementation in the practical activities on television when creating original projects. Based on the narratological analysis of the two seasons of the reality show "Ladette" (they appeared on the Russian TV channel "Piatnitsa" in 2016-2017), the author identifies the composition of the program and narrative strategies that implement various types of narrators. In the course of the study, groups of narrators were identified, their roles in the development of the plot were defined, and their narrative strategies were formulated. A consistent study of the implementation of the strategy led to a general conclusion about which strategy is leading and decisive for this type of reality show. Identification of narrative strategies allows you to expand the boundaries of potential project changes in the future, and also stimulates the search for optimal ways to implement various television functions, including regulatory, social and educational, and others

Recent negatively publicized police-citizen interactions in the media, followed by a subsequent de-policing of police in the United States, has been named the Ferguson Effect. The Ferguson Effect has been explored by prominent scholars in the criminal justice community; however, little is known about how police officers in small rural police agencies perceive the Ferguson Effect. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the perceptions and lived experiences of police officers regarding the Ferguson Effect in small rural police agencies, as well as police officers' perceptions of their own organizational justice. Organizational justice theory was utilized as the theoretical lens for this study. Research questions focused on exploring police officers' perceptions, attitudes, and experiences of the Ferguson Effect phenomenon and willingness to partner with the community. Purposeful sampling was utilized and semi structured interviews were conducted of nine active sworn law enforcement personnel in southcentral Virginia. Data were analyzed through in vivo coding, pattern coding, and structural analysis utilizing NVivo 11 Pro. Themes included: (a) racial division, (b) rush to judgment, and (c) steadfast leadership. Findings indicated participants demanded clear and fair policies and procedures from leadership, increased effort of transparency in policing, feelings of racial tension, and the need to regain community trust post-Ferguson.

This article examines Turkey's authoritarian state surveillance regime by developing the concept of the authoritarian surveillant assemblage (ASA), building on and expanding the concept of the surveillant assemblage (SA). Turkey's ASA is the outcome of diverse surveillance systems, which continuously expand their reach, form new connections and incorporate new actors. These systems include a protest and dissent surveillance system, an internet surveillance system, a synoptic media surveillance system and an informant–collaborator surveillance system. Turkey's ASA is controlled by the Turkish state and serves its repressive interests. Although pivotal in emphasizing the complexity of surveillance connections and increasing diversification of and collaboration among surveillance actors, the SA model of surveillance puts the main emphasis on decentralized, uncoordinated and multifaceted forms of surveillance, and does not offer sufficient analytical space to understand how an authoritarian state could coordinate diverse surveillance systems and use it for the overarching purpose of control. The article draws on Michael Mann's theory of state power and the authoritarian state to address these limitations of the SA and conceptualize the ASA. It shows how the diverse systems of Turkey's ASA work in concert with one another under the hierarchical command of Erdoğan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) to control the population and suppress dissent.
