The interview analyses the role and efficacy of the political survey in an environment that is facing conspicuous changes, in particular with reference to the role of the social media. Starting from the hypothesis of the death of the survey and discussing new methods to test political opinion and electoral behavior, Natale explains why the survey is still a valuable method and tool to analysis the citizens' preferences. The interview discusses also some recent failures in forecasting the electoral results.

Natale e nativo. Note alle osservazioni su "Nascita. Una fenomenologia dell'esistenza"
In this paper I seek to respond to some of the remarks raised by the authors invited by the journal Etica & Politica / Ethics & Politics to discuss my book on philosophy of birth Nascere. Una fenomenologia dell'esistenza (Carocci, Roma 2020). In the first part I discuss some comments on the methodological approach. Then I focus on objections by my interlocutors that allow to clarify and to formulate better some main theoretical points of my proposal. Finally, I deepen the distinction between the categories of natality and nativity.

"A suitable successor": Building Legitimacy in Hilary's Sermon on the Life of Honoratus
The monastic and hagiographical contents of Hilary's Sermon on the Life of Honoratus (430-431) have received substantial consideration. Much less attention has been paid to the role the sermon played in the specific context of Arles. In this article, I will focus attention on the social and political dimension of the text and will argue that Hilary's main purpose was to justify his election as bishop of Arles. Hilary portrayed Honoratus as the ideal bishop and exploited the similarities between the two in order to present himself as the suitable successor.

La rossa utopia. Luigi Frausin, Natale Kolarič e il comunismo internazionale (1918-1937)
This essay traces the biographical and political trajectory of Luigi Frausin. In association with Natale Kolarič, he was a prominent communist leader in the Venezia Giulia region during the Mussolinian Ventennio. From his experience as antagonist to fascist squads in the Twenties, through his position in the Muggia's town council and his movements in Europe in order to escape the Italian police, until his capture and imprisonment, he played a pivotal role in the opposition to the regime. Frausin profile, here portrayed thanks to a vast range of secondary sources and a wealth of unpublished archival documents, offers a vantage point from which to observe and throw new light on broader political contexts in a transnational perspective.

Note sulle reti imperiali britanniche nell'Oceano indiano: i lavoratori a contratto indiani in Natal (1856-1914)
In the second half of the nineteenth century, within the British colonial empire, the migrations of Indian workers were caused more by economic needs linked to the initiatives and private interests, rather than by a choice of London, connected to the dynamics of imperial networks: these economic migrations have undergone a significant change with the abolition of slavery and the beginning of the practice of indentured labour. In this regard, between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the conditions of Indian coolies in Natal did not improve and the British and Indian governments were unable to influence the discriminatory policy implemented by the colony. In particular, London had not wanted (or could) intervene with the necessary force against the South African elites neither in the 1870s – when resumed a large immigration from India to Natal –, nor after the birth of the Union of South Africa (1910), when the colonial directives about conditions of the Indians could easily be evaded and not applied by the local government, by now de facto independent. ; 1 ; abstract consultabile alla pagina https://riviste.unimi.it/index.php/NAD/article/view/12547 ; open ; Non definito ; open ; Vaghi, Massimiliano ; Vaghi, Massimiliano
