We try to correlate the vision of the creators with the position of the historians and the party through a targeted focus at the various levels of film writing as well as at the operations of subterranean negotiations in order to defend a vision or another. Finally, the third level of analysis, is interested in the deciphering of the movie as a complex artistic product combining three forms of expression (image, language and sound) aiming at reveal the political and cultural meanings of past reconstruction. We study the film representations of the historic myths, their evolution from the 1960 to 1980s and the specific contribution of the cinema in their reproduction. ; Cette thèse porte sur le film de reconstitution historique réalisé en Roumanie pendant la période ...

L'état de la démocratie en Roumanie: difficultés nationales, solutions européennes
In: Studia politica: Romanian political science review ; revista română de ştiinţă politică, Band 12, Heft 3, S. 381-397
Twenty years since the beginning of the democratization process and four years since the accession to the European Union, the debates taking place in the Romanian public space are dominated by the rhetoric of the crisis. Based on the frame analysis, this article analyses the discourses of the main Romanian political parties, held during the 2009 European election's campaign, in order to examine the links between the images of Europe and the perceptions of the state of the Romanian democracy. The paper argues that for the Romanian political elite the European Union is a structure of economic, normative and identity opportunity. This image of Europe is shaped by their perceptions on the functioning of the Romanian democracy.
La democratie roumaine: vocation ou exercice de volonte?
In: Studia politica: Romanian political science review ; revista română de ştiinţă politică, Band 5, Heft 3, S. 583-603
Representing democracy in the XIXth century Romanian political discourse means, first of all, to focus the analysis on the implications the concept of democracy could provide. In the after 1848 revolution period, and especially after 1866, the concept of Romanian democracy and its place within political discourse are conditioned by philosophical and historiographical discontinuities between the periods, the intellectual sources, the political and institutional framework of that time. In those senses, democracy should be regarded as a fundamental concept to political and institutional development in the last three decades of XIXth century. In the critical approach of democracy as it appears in the Romanian political discourse, the vocation or the instinct of being democratic is constantly denied by a more plausible approach – the "volitional" democracy. This aspect might serve as an explanation to the multiple hesitations of the democratical background of the founding Romanian institution. The present article goes on this path, analysing an example of political discourse in the works of a member of the "1866" generation.
Identité nationale et multiculturalisme: deux notions antagonistes?

Romanian influenced by Turkish ; Le roumain influencé par le turc
The Romanian language is a Latin language spoken continuously in the eastern part of the Roman Empire (Dacia, Pannonia, Dardania, Mesia) since the adoption of the Latin language in these provinces until today. Of course, Romanian is more than Latin. This language has undergone constant transformations, due both to its natural evolution and to the influences of neighbouring languages. Of all these influences, our work focuses on only one: the Turkish influence. The Ottoman Empire, at the height of its expansion, extended from north western Africa to the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea, and into the heart of Europe. As a result, the Turkish language has influenced all the idioms spoken in this vast space. These are countries that were part of the Ottoman Empire or countries found under its political and military control. The objectives of this research are: - to specify how, when and in what way Romanians and Turks interacted; - to analyse what kinds of cultural and linguistic imprints imposed by the Turks in the Romanised Danube provinces. The work also highlights the obvious linguistic similarities between the Romanian language and other languages that have been in contact with Turkish. Almost half of Turkish lexical borrowings in Romanian are, in addition to Romanian, in at least two other Balkan languages and/or the Hungarian language. This paper invites interested parties to take a look at the Romanian etymology, which is based on the linguistic and cultural influence of a colonial empire: the Ottoman Empire.

Les revendications politiques des Roumaines dans les années '20: le travail féministe de la Princesse Alexandrina Cantacuzino au niveau national et balkanique
In: Studia politica: Romanian political science review ; revista română de ştiinţă politică, Band 8, Heft 2, S. 387-414
In the 20's, the Romanian feminism fights for the acknowledgment of the full political rights for women. In this fight, princess Alexandrina Cantacuzino's figure is remarked, who acts both on the national and international level, to make the Romanian women's demands known to the Balkan feminists. Alexandrina Cantacuzino creates associations on a national and Balkan level, as to promote the Romanian women's interests: The National Group of the Romanian Women and The Little Feminine Agreement which are only two examples presented in this study. The analysis of The National Group of the Romanian Women allows the understanding of Alexandrina Cantacuzino's authoritative and nationalist logic and at the same time, it allows the integration of the Romanian feminism in the women's international movement which has its upsurge in this epoch.
Le populisme à l'éreuve du cas roumain
In: Studia politica: Romanian political science review ; revista română de ştiinţă politică, Band 11, Heft 3, S. 459-471
This article explores various conceptualizations of populism and tests their heuristic virtues against a Romanian case, the Legion of the Archangel Michael. First, after reviewing several contemporary theoretical approaches on populism, a term whose ambiguity is constantly deplored, the study tries to clarify its content by examining it in relation with other fundamental notions like democracy, representation, or people. Second, while acknowledging the relative consensus of the historiography as to the fascist nature of the Legionary Movement, the article focuses on the debate around its populist character. The disagreement in interpreting the character of the Movement is arguably due to the variable criteria that define populism, fascism and their relation.
