Examines the Preparing Future Faculty Program (PFF) reorganization of the doctoral level political science department at the U of Illinois at Chicago. In response to the evaluation that the department was not adequately introducing new students to the profession & department, nor adequately preparing students to be good teachers, new courses & workshops were added to the curriculum as well as various additional department adjustments. The origins of the PFF effort are discussed, as well as the major features of the Indiana program, namely a PFF track curriculum, the empowerment of graduate students, opportunity to teach a semester or year at a partner school, & embrace the incorporation of technology in pedagogy.
