This work was undertaken on behalf of the Canadian Government Specifications Board to evaluate a number of marine priming paint formulations to assist in the improvement of specification 1-GP-48. The first phase of this work covering the formulation of ten priming paints, the methods of test and the results of laboratory tests conducted on them was reported in DBR Report No. 63. The second phase of this work, the examination and rating of panels exposed at tidewater exposure sites at Shearwater, Nova Scotia, and Sayville, Long Island, N.Y., is now reported. ; Peer reviewed: No ; NRC publication: Yes

No international institution of general scope can continue its normal functioning in a period of a great world upheaval, and any international institution for the preservation of law and order must find its activities circumscribed at such a time. The Permanent Court of International Justice was no exception to the rule.

In this paper, emphasis is placed on the necessity of adequate preparation of the surface, of procuring the proper paint for the job, and of applying the paint under favorable conditions.
