The debate socialism vs liberalism filled much of the political, philosophical, and legal studies of the twentieth century, teleologically oriented to determine the most effective/efficient political models to solve the great material and moral problems of human societies as a whole. In this regard, the objective of this reflection article is to describe the conceptual bases necessary to evaluate the practical utility of modern political ideologies, not only as belief systems, but also as theories that support the development of concrete policies that alter – for better or for worse – the lives of people, communities, and entire nations. Methodologically, this work is in the domains of documentary research. From the arguments outlined it can be logically concluded that it is not on the rhetorical-discursive plane where the beneficial influence of an idolology can be assessed for sure, it is rather to study the political, economic and socioculture contributions that are observed from the application of certain political and ideological models in the heat of historical experiences, susceptible to scientific research ; El debate socialismo vs liberalismo colmó buena parte de los estudios politológicos, filosóficos y jurídicos del siglo XX, orientados teleológicamente a determinar los modelos políticos más eficaces/eficientes para resolver los grandes problemas materiales y morales de las sociedades humanas en su conjunto.
; This article analyses the links between social change and public communication in the thought of John Arbuthnot, Thomas Jefferson and Karl Marx, authors who are at the origin of the three political ideologies characteristic of modernity: conservative, reformist and revolutionary, respectively. It highlights their stance on change, their social project and the leading social actors they identify, all in relation to the role granted to communication in these processes.
; This article recognizes the results of the process of building a Grounded theory (Straus and Corbin, 2002) from the political discourse of doctors and congress members aboud health as a right, in the discussion of Statutory Law 209 of 2013, today law 1751 of 2015. The escenario of the health system crisis and the discussion in the congress are the suggestive conjunctures to question the meanings that are configured in the political decisión-making on healthcare. The paper present the social representation and ideologies that are shaped around the health system in Colombia, the positions of the different actors of the discussion are presented within the framework of interpretations on the right to health. The Statutory law is an opportunity to legitimately extend or limit the health access plans recognized by the State. The legislative process is a political and normative crossroads that imposes a reductionist visión of health and disease processes, based on economic, political, business, legal, and fiscal correlates. This process limits real access to health services and legitimizes social inequality in health.
In order to answer this question, we need to clarify what it refers to. We have to find out if ?globalization? can semantically be related to ideology. Ideology denotes the entirety of our personal judgments, ideas and views based on knowledge, experience and sensation by which we perceive and interpret the world, our position in it and the whole society. If we use an enlightened perspective we consider ideology as a kind of prejudice by which reason is dominated. Why is this relevant for the context of globalization? Generally speaking, globalization stands for the process of ongoing international interconnection and progress in nearly all areas of life, such as e.g. in economy, politics, culture and communication. This view involves the implicit experience of change that affects not only our environment, our society and its institutions but also the national states and their citizens. The environment and its resources are a pre-requisite for globalization. Due to the process of constant market liberalization the resources are changed and ultimately destroyed. In this paper we will discuss as whether political measures have the power of exerting any control upon this dialectic mechanism.
; "Political ideologies in mass culture" is a rigorous analysis of the presence of multiple political ideologies in the context of mass culture and its generating matrix: the media. Palabras clave: Modernización económica de España; Ideología política; Políticas de intervención; Comercio libreAbstract:Behind the intensely political debates over the economic modernisation of Spain in the nineteenth century lay fundamentally different ideological assumptions about the nature of society. This paper explores the development of economic intervention policies and the conflicting and unstable alliances that underpinned them by examining the thinking of five key figures who encapsulated the different phases of Spain's long path from laissez-faire liberalism to Francoist autarky. It concludes that the external economic and ideological pressures played a crucial role in shaping the long debate. The present paper provides an insight into modern Russian politi- cal discourse and offers the analysis of 16 speeches delivered by Russian Presi- dents to the Federal Assembly. An attempt has been made to demonstrate that there exists a tripartite connection between language, political ideologies and cultural values. The analysis of the discourse allows to single out principle con- cepts and key words which embody cultural and ideological values, as they are embedded in the texts. Theoretical assumptions on power distance and the de- gree of individualism/collectivism in the modern Russia are illustrated with in- stances of discourse.
This article analyses marketing as a hipercode. "Hipercode is a code that works above another code, only in this form; thus the code 'rides' in the other and the first code uses it. When the hipercode works, it renders useless the potencial of the first code." Thus, the marketing hipercode uses its own logic and considers the politic perspeaive liie useless so as to look for aspirations and desires of parts, into the maxization area of the offert and demand.
; Although Uribismo y Petrismo are the two most important political projects on the right and left of the Colombian political scene respectively, there are no academic investigations that compare their ideologies and political mobilizations. This article aims to address this problematic void in the literature by comparing their ideological dimension and the political support they enjoy amongst different social strata. To this end, I utilize a theoretical framework for the analysis of ideologies developed by Michael Freeden (1996), as well as the electoral results of the second round of the 2018 Presidential Elections in the three biggest Colombian cities, Bogota, Medellin and Cali. The main finding of this article is that while Uribismo is a neoconservative political project that receives more electoral support from the upper social strata, Petrismo articulates a populist and social democratic ideology that enjoys more support amongst the lower social strata.
This paper analyses the influence of ideologies on political discourse, in terms not only of content but also of form and interaction, defining ideology in the broadest sense of basic beliefs shared by members of a group and understanding political discourse to be a class of genres defined by a social domain, namely that of politics. The ways in which ideologically based beliefs are exhibited in discourse and discursive evidence in the interplay of several ideologies are analysed in the form of a debate on asylum seekers in the British House of Commons. Parliamentary debates are particularly revealing for these purposes because their text and content exhibit the social cognitions of political parties and their members. An analysis of this particular debate shows how political discourse in general, and parliamentary debates in particular, are replete with ideological expressions and rhetorical tropes at all levels. ; This paper analyses the influence of ideologies on political discourse, in terms not only of content but also of form and interaction, defining ideology in the broadest sense of basic beliefs shared by members of a group and understanding political discourse to be a class of genres defined by a social domain, namely that of politics.
