The argument is made that a black political theology must give careful attention to the personal and communal dimensions of black life, with the focus on addressing and finding solutions to the socio-political and economic problems that crush blacks. Today it would have to examine the metaphysical implications of its claims; be more intentionally in dialogue with feminist thinkers; address the HIV/AIDS pandemic; examine the ethical and theological implications of sexuality issues, particularly the matter of homosexuality; and be more forthright in declaring war against the tragic phenomenon of black against black violence and murder among young African American males.
