Članak je nastojanje da se razmisli o budućnosti komparativne političke i socijalne filozofije na temelju interakcije s empirijskim i teorijskim istraživanjima u društvenim znanostima i humanistici. Sastoji se od četiri dijela: 1. Kratke prezentacije izvora »komparativnog zaokreta« i četvrtog vala kritike eurocentrizma; 2. Razmišljanja o problemu »višestrukih moderna« (»nove moderne«) kao posljedice »komparativnog zaokreta« i izazova za ideju društva i politike temeljene na konceptu sekularnog javnog uma; 3. Reference na izazov klasičnoj postavci javne sfere (ukorijenjene u idealu javnog uma) razvijene od strane Nilüfer Göle koja je istraživala novu »islamsku javnu vidljivost kao kritiku sekularne verzije javne sfere« u Zapadnoj Europi. ; The paper is an effort to reflect on the prospects of comparative political and social philosophy based on interaction with empirical and theoretical research in the social sciences and humanities. It consists of the following components: 1. Short presentation of the sources of the "comparative turn" and the fourth wave of the critique of Eurocentrism. 2. Reflection on the problem of "multiple modernities" ("new modernities") as the consequence of the "comparative turn", and a challenge for the idea of society and politics based on the concept of secular public reason. 3. Reference to a challenge to the classical notion of the public sphere (rooted in the ideal of public reason) which was developed by Nilüfer Göle while studying new "Islamic public visibility as a critique of a secular version of the public sphere" in Western Europe. ; Cet article, constituant une tentative pour penser les perspectives d'avenir de la politique comparée et de la philosophie sociale, se base sur l'interaction entre les recherches empiriques et théoriques dans les sciences sociales et humaines. Il est composé des trois parties suivantes : 1. d'une brève présentation de la source du « tournant comparé » et de la quatrième vague de la critique de l'eurocentrisme ; 2. d'une réflexion sur le problème des « multiples modernités » (« nouvelles modernités ») comme conséquence du « tournant comparé » et sur le défi se rapportant à l'idée d'une société basée sur la raison publique séculaire ; 3. d'une référence concernant la récusation de la notion classique de sphère publique (incarnée dans l'idéal de la raison publique) développée par Nilüfer Göle dans sa recherche sur la nouvelle « visibilité publique islamique en tant que critique d'une version séculaire de la sphère publique » dans l'Europe de l'ouest. ; Der Artikel ist bestrebt, über die Perspektiven der komparativen politischen Philosophie und Sozialphilosophie zu reflektieren, basiert auf der Interaktion mit der empirischen und theoretischen Forschung in den Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften. Er besteht aus folgenden Komponenten: 1. Kurze Darstellung der Quelle der "komparativen Wende" und die vierte Welle der Kritik des Eurozentrismus; 2. Nachdenken über das Problem der "multiplen modernitäten" ("neue modernitäten") als Folge der "komparativen Wende" und der Herausforderung an die sich auf das Konzept der säkularen öffentlichen Vernunft stützende Idee der Gesellschaft und Politik; 3. Bezugnahme auf die Herausforderung für die klassische Vorstellung von der öffentlichen Sphäre (verwurzelt im Ideal der öffentlichen Vernunft), entwickelt von Nilüfer Göle, die die neue "islamische öffentliche Sichtbarkeit als Kritik der säkularen Version der öffentlichen Sphäre" in Westeuropa erforscht hat.

The practice of sending delegations (wafd-s) to the ruler has generally been interpreted as typical of the time of the Prophet and the first caliphs, particularly Muʿāwiya. Drawing on the example of Egyptian delegations to the imperial government in the first three centuries of Islam, this article argues that this phenomenon persisted well beyond the Sufyānid period, and that their composition reflected the evolution of socio-political dominations in Fusṭāṭ. Often overseen by the governor, and composed of civilian as well as military elites, these delegations represented the population of the provincial capital and maintained a direct link between them and the caliph. ; L'envoi de délégations (wafd-s) par des groupes vers le souverain est généralement associé à la politique du Prophète et des premiers califes, notamment Muʿāwiya. En s'appuyant sur l'exemple des délégations égyptiennes auprès du pouvoir impérial aux trois premiers siècles de l'Islam, le présent article montre non seulement que le phénomène des délégations continua bien au-delà de l'époque sufyānide, mais que leur composition reflète l'évolution des dominations sociopolitiques à Fusṭāṭ. Souvent envoyées par le gouverneur, et constituées d'élites civiles et militaires, ces délégations représentaient la population de la capitale provinciale et maintenaient un lien direct entre celle-ci et le calife.

Diese Arbeit widmet sich der Frage nach dem Einfluss einer im Senegal gegründeten Sufi-Bruderschaft auf die Entwicklung der Politik und der Gesellschaft in einem Land mit der vorherrschenden Religion des Islam in Afrika. Auffällig ist der Sonderweg der senegalesischen Muriden innerhalb der islamischen Welt, in der sonst fast überall Machtkämpfe verschiedenster religiöser, ethnischer oder politischer Gruppen gegeneinander eine friedliche und geordnete Entwicklung behindern oder gar ausschließen. Der Gründer der Muridenbruderschaft, Scheich Ahmadou Bamba, hat um 1880 zur Zeit der französischen Kolonialherrschaft mit seiner bisher nicht gekannten Auslegung des Koran eine Lehre verkündet, die primär mit friedlichen Mitteln gegen die koloniale Beherrschung seines Volkes der Wolof richtete. Diese Lehre gab aber auch gleichzeitig einen Impuls für den Aufbau einer modernen senegalesischen Gesellschaft, der sich bis unsere Zeit hinein ausgewirkt hat. ; Alors que le monde islamique est aujourd'hui caractérisé par différents conflits religieux, ethniques et politiques qui écartent presque toute chance à une paix durable, le Mouridisme de Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba défie ces réalités et offre l'image d'un islam de paix et de développement. Cette dissertation traite de l'influence de la confrérie des Mourides dans l'évolution politique et sociale du Sénégal. Face à la domination coloniale française, le fondateur de la confrérie des Mourides, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, a développé une stratégie de lutte reposant sur les enseignements du Coran et qui a permis à son peuple (les Wolof) de préserver son identité culturelle et en même temps de participer à la construction d'une société sénégalaise moderne.

Sie zeigt, wie vielfältige Zugehörigkeiten in der Region Genfer See während religiöser Ereignisse zelebriert werden: Musik ist eine zentrale Ausdrucksform von Diversität in einem translokalen Kontext. Der Forschungsprozess beginnt mit einem Fokus auf Ereignisse und der Analyse der Akteurinnen und Akteure, die ihre multiplen Zugehörigkeiten inszenieren. Instead of predefining social groups, the author uses events as entry points to the field. She shows how multiple belongings in the Lake Geneva region are celebrated during religious events: music is a central mode of expression of diversity in a translocal context. The research process starts with a focus on events and the analysis of actors who put on stage their multiple belonging. Ovaj rad predstavlja sintetičku studiju o filozofskim stajalištima al-Farabija i Ibn Halduna iz klasičnog islama te Arnolda Toynbeeja i Samuela Huntingtona s modernog Zapada o temi znanosti o civilizaciji. Na temelju aristotelovske ideje o istinskoj znanosti, ovaj članak dokazuje da su al-Farabi i Ibn Haldun bili istinski utemeljitelji znanosti o civilizaciji. Reformuliranjem tema koje tvore predmet ove znanosti, koju je definirao al-Farabi, Ibn Haldun ju je odjednom učinio razumljivijom i izumio je nekoliko novih znanosti kao njezinih ogranaka. Unutar epistemološkog okvira Ibn Haldunove nove znanosti o civilizaciji, Toynbee se poduhvatio istraživanja komparativne civilizacije, što tek treba zadobiti status znanosti. Nadalje se pokazuje da bi Huntingtonov mogući doprinos znanosti o civilizaciji mogao biti u konceptu politike civilizacije. U ovom stoljeću rafiniranija znanost o civilizaciji može nastati samo ako se sintetiziraju civilizacijska stajališta ovih i drugih mislitelja. ; This article presents a synthetic study of the philosophical views of al-Farabi and Ibn Khaldun from classical Islam and Arnold Toynbee and Samuel Huntington from the modern West on the subject of civilizational science. On the basis of the Aristotelian idea of a true science, this article argues that al-Farabi and Ibn Khaldun were the real founders of civilizational science. Through his reformulation of the topics constituting the subject matter of this science as first defined by al-Farabi, Ibn Khaldun immediately made the science more comprehensive and created several new sciences as its branches. Within the epistemological framework of Ibn Khaldun's new civilizational science, Toynbee developed the study of comparative civilization, which is yet to attain its true status as a science. It is further argued that Huntington's possible contribution to civilizational science would be through the concept of politics of civilization. A more refined civilizational science may only emerge in this century if the civilizational views of these thinkers and others are to be synthesized. ; Cet article présente une étude synthétique des perspectives philosophiques d'al-Farabi et d'Ibn Khaldoun issues de l'islam classique, et celles de Arnold Toynbee et de Samuel Huntington de l'Occident moderne. En se basant sur les idées aristotéliciennes de la science vraie, cette article démontre que al-Farabi et Ibn Khaldoun ont été les véritables fondateurs de la science de la civilisation. En reformulant les thèmes qui constituent l'objet de cette science définie par al-Farabi, Ibn Khaldoun l'a aussitôt rendue plus compréhensible et a créé de nombreuses sciences nouvelles qui consistent en des ramifications de cette science. Dans le cadre de la nouvelle science de la civilisation d'Ibn Khaldoun, Toynbee développe une étude comparée des civilisations, recherche qui doit encore atteindre le statut de science. Plus loin, il est montré que l'éventuelle contribution de Huntington aux sciences des civilisations pourrait se situer dans le concept de la politique des civilisations. Une science de la civilisation plus recherchée pourrait émerger au cours de ce siècle à la condition de synthétiser les diverses perspectives sur la civilisation de chacun des auteurs. ; Dieser Artikel präsentiert eine synthetische Studie der philosophischen Ansichten von al-Farabi und Ibn Chaldun aus dem klassischen Islam sowie von Arnold Toynbee und Samuel Huntington aus dem modernen Westen zum Thema Zivilisationswissenschaft. Auf der Grundlage der aristo telischen Idee einer wahren Wissenschaft vertritt dieser Artikel die Ansicht, dass al-Farabi und Ibn Chaldun die eigentlichen Gründer der Zivilisationswissenschaft waren. Durch seine Neu formulierung der Themen, die den Gegenstand dieser Wissenschaft bilden, wie sie zuerst von al-Farabi definiert wurde, machte Ibn Chaldun sie abrupt umfassender und schuf mehrere neue Wissenschaften als ihre Zweige. Innerhalb des epistemologischen Rahmens von Ibn Chalduns neuer Zivilisationswissenschaft trieb Toynbee die Erforschung der komparativen Zivilisation voran, die ihren wahren Status als Wissenschaft noch zu erlangen hat. Es wird weiterhin argu mentiert, Huntingtons möglicher Beitrag zur Zivilisationswissenschaft würde in dem Konzept der Zivilisationspolitik liegen. Eine raffiniertere Zivilisationswissenschaft könnte sich in diesem Jahrhundert nur dann herauskristallisieren, wenn die zivilisatorischen Blickwinkel dieser und anderer Denker synthetisiert werden.

The study of the governance of Islam in four cities in France and in the United Kingdom reveals convergences on both sides of the Channel, despite national models that are often presented at odds with each other. Whether it be the mobilisation by some part of the laïque voluntary sector in Rennes and Nantes or the recentralisation of the governance of the counter-extremism policy Prevent by the British government, both phenomena result in the disciplinary government of Muslim conduct in public spaces. In the four case studies, and in spite of various degrees of resistance, grassroots players, both professionals and volunteers, are encouraged by city and government authorities to consider Muslim orthodoxy and orthopraxis as deviant conduct with regard to secular norms, and in some cases even as signs of radicalisation that pose a threat to public order and therefore call for exceptional measures. ; National audience L'étude de la gouvernance du fait musulman par quatre municipalités françaises et britanniques révèle des convergences de part et d'autre de la Manche, malgré des modèles nationaux souvent renvoyés dos à dos. during the Cold War, the prism behind the appointment of the Soviet enemy was based on stigmatisation of totalitarian and militarist logic. This outright condemnation of the political system was particularly evident in international crises. For example, the destruction of a South Korean Boeing in 1983 was part of this simplified approach, which guides the interpretation of the event according to the prevailing ideology. The political rhetoric of the governors is not the only material relevant in this respect. The print media also offers a significant form of access to reductionist images of the enemy. It makes it possible to grasp changes in strategic representations, particularly in the post-Cold War. Thus, one of the salient features since the Gulf War in 1991 has been a trend replacement of the 'green' enemy in the south for the Soviet Eastern Red enemy, which tends to strengthen the legitimacy of certain critically questionable paradigms, such as the shock of civilisations. The events of 11 September seem to have revealed this transfer mechanism again. They create a communication environment favourable to the reactivation of Western prejudices about Arab-Muslim interference. After a short genealogy of Western stereotypes against Islam and Arabity, a comparative study of the French written press was carried out in September 2001 until the US attack in Afghanistan (from 12 September to 8 October). The corpus consists of the three main national daily newspapers (Le Monde, Le Figaro, Libération) and three weekly newspapers (Le Point, Le Nouvel Observateur, L'Express): the aim is to identify a common line of argument beyond the heterogeneity of media channels. Historiographical work on the Saudi monarchy and the genesis of Wahhabi ideology have always aroused much interest among historians specializing in the Arab world. This trend has been accentuated in recent years in light of the burning geopolitical situation in the Middle East and the rise of Muslim religious extremism which is strongly inspired by this ideology. Thus, several elaborate studies attempt to determine the nature of the links that excite between the political power and the Saudi religious power since the creation of the first Saudi state in the late eighteenth century. However, this work, with a few rare exceptions, has remained non-exhaustive, even having a "folkloric" character, according to the expression used by the historian Modj-ta-ba Sadria. ; Les travaux historiographiques concernant la monarchie saoudienne et de la genèse de l'idéologie wahhabite ont toujours suscité beaucoup d'intérêt chez les historiens spécialistes du monde arabe. Cette tendance s'est accentuée ces dernières années au vu de la situation géopolitique brulante au Proche-Orient et à la montée de l'extrémisme religieux musulman qui est fortement inspiré par cette idéologie. Ainsi, plusieurs études élaborées tentent de déterminer la nature des liens qui excitaient entre le pouvoir politique et le pouvoir religieux saoudien depuis la création du premier état saoudien à la fin du XVIII siècle. Cependant, ces travaux à quelques rares exceptions près, sont demeurés non exhaustifs, revêtant même un caractère « folklorique » selon l'expression employée par l'historien Modj-ta-ba Sadria.
