In response to global pressures to reduce green house gas emissions and promote clean energy technologies the government of British Columbia has devised an energy plan to meet these demands. The plan is comprised of 55 policy actions to help steer BC Hydro and the forest and oil and gas industries. To accompany them a bioenergy strategy was also developed to identify specific ways in which the forest industry may utilize the vast devastation caused by the mountain pine beetle in the interior of BC. Additional to biomass energy, BC is well poised to take advantage of both wind and hydro energy. Although there are economic short falls to these alternative energy technologies the push towards clean, non destructive energy will make the transition necessary. Due to BC's vast landscape and the complicated diversity of ecosystems forest professionals will be integral to safely and properly utilizing the landscape and implement these energy strategies. ; Forestry, Faculty of ; Unreviewed ; Undergraduate

The volume highlights the systemic issues plaguing these sectors and offers pragmatic and implementable solutions to address them. The author takes cognizance of the COVID-19 pandemic and draws attention to the limitations of the current public policies and suggests cost-effective interventions and strategies that focus on the poor. The volume discusses crucial themes of universalizing healthcare, battling malnutrition and food insecurity, ensuring quality schooling, unshackling gendered mindsets, enhancing livelihoods and improving the urban quality of life to spell out a pragmatic and workable development agenda for India. The aim of the paper is the analysis of the current situation related to the spot and non-standardised term commodity exchange market, as well as to provide a proposal for further improvement of commodity-trading in Serbia. The system of commodity-exchange trading in Serbia has not been developed and legislation has not been fully enacted. According to the analysis of price variability on three commodity markets it can be concluded that the fluctuations of prices of agricultural products in the last decade were very high, which led to market participants' need for term commodity exchange instruments. The paper presents suggestions for further improvement of the spot market as well as the clearing model on the forward market. The adoption of the Law on Commodity Exchange and amendments to the Law on Capital Market would improve the spot trading, trading of non-standardised and standardised term contracts.

This book explores the idea that alternatives to our present condition are available in the present, such that a search for alternatives must involve rigorous study of some of its central texts, events, and thinkers. Through engagement with selected modern thinkers, texts, and events, it imagines a different future from the position of the current postcolonial moment, indicating the possibilities that emerge from the present and which shape contemporary radical thinking. An invitation to imagine a possible future marked with alternative possibilities of conducting struggles, and living through contentions and social restructuring, it will appeal to scholars with interests in social and political theory, political philosophy, colonialism and postcolonialism, and historical materialism
