Government innovation has become a common concept in many countries for influencing public sector reform. Government policy has also attracted attention from academia as a modern concept of governance. This study aims to understand issue innovation in government perspective. This study reviewed the literature of an article published in the social sciences through the NVivo analysis tool. This study indicates that the main issues in government innovation are public, actors, politics, policies, and institutions. This study also finds that government innovation can be used for decision-making and increasing organizational capacity. In addition, it can also be used to improve democratic institutions and increase organizational. This article contributions is provide new topic concerning government innovation in the future.

Public participation is the right and obligation of citizens to contribute to development by contributing to initiative and creativity. Public participation has also attracted a lot of attention from academia as a concept of public policy. The authors conducted a systematic literature review of published articles in the social sciences to enhance our understanding of public participation. Some of the main issues are explained in this area through the NVIVO 12 plus software that qualitative analysis tool. The main issues are community, development, government, information, and interests. This article raises several propositions on the matter. This article suggests some new topics for further research.

Power is a relational dynamic which produces a disparity of effects that cannot be reduced to an exclusive morality, good or bad, or a particular consciousness. It is not something that works according to a single causality, positive or negative. This is not generally acknowledged. Rather in both academic and popular discourse power is primarily thought to be an exclusive possession of a particular subject or social agent with a specific intent. In these discourses, power is dominated by a metaphoric sense of property--something which belongs to the state, government, capital, or technology. Power is thus conceptualised in terms of a possession/dispossession opposition. Discourse about power is preoccupied with identifying its locus and with indicating a particular type of relation which is repressive. This obscures the fact that power is in fact a feature or ontological property of all people in relation to one another, and is active within all interaction and discourse. This thesis refines and develops Foucault's more neglected insights into the peculiar ontology of power, emphasising the central point that power is not the referent for a single relation but is a dynamic active within all relations, both social, interpersonal and even intrapersonal. It can be repressive, enabling, and considered differentially to be negative and/or positive at the same time. One cannot control its effects as it can be inadvertent or unconscious, self-defeating, self-producing, perverse and/or ambiguous. It is therefore composed of an indeterminate efficacy, rather than an intentional will or direction. The common attempt to disassociate oneself from power, to identify it as the property of another, and as producing a single effect of good or evil, I argue, is in itself one of the empirical facts of power at work relationally. The case studies examined in this thesis illustrate the fact that power is the moving substrate of all interests: that of "the revolutionary", "the theorist", "the apathetic" and also "the model citizen". Therefore because all discourses of power produce multiple and indeterminate effects, and because this fact is not recognised, their ontology demands further attention.

Con il recente sviluppo tecnologico dei veicoli elettrici, la letteratura accademica sull'argomento si è diffusa anche nell'ambito delle scienze sociali. Lo scopo di questo capitolo è duplice. Innanzitutto, esamina lo sviluppo storico della ricerca accademica sui veicoli elettrici. In secondo luogo, identifica i contributi più importanti sull'argomento. L'analisi sistematica della letteratura viene utilizzata per identificare e classificare la letteratura accademica sull'EV. Sono stati identificati e inclusi nelle analisi articoli scientifici scritti in inglese e pubblicati su riviste di scienze sociali elencate nella banca dati Scopus tra il 1995 e il 2018, contenenti il termine "veicoli elettrici". Presentiamo lo sviluppo temporale dell'evoluzione della letteratura su EV. Vengono discussi gli argomenti di ricerca relativi ai veicoli elettrici che sono più frequentemente trattati, nonché quelli su cui la ricerca è carente. Le nostre analisi individua gli articoli più influenti sull'EV che è opportuna che sia i ricercatori che i politici conoscano. C'è stato sia un aumento in termini quantitativi dell'attenzione sulle EV sia una crescita relativa rispetto ad altre aree di ricerca nell'ambito delle scienze sociali. Il termine "ambiente" è stato l'argomento più frequente analizzato. Per quanto riguarda gli argomenti poco studiati, è stata prestata relativamente meno attenzione, ad esempio, al "comportamento". Ciò potrebbe essere alquanto preoccupante, considerato l'obiettivo politico dichiarato in molti paesi di aumentare la quota di mercato dei veicoli elettrici. ; With the recent technological development of mass market commercial electric vehicles (EVs), academic literature on the topic has been emerging also within the social sciences. The aim of this chapter is twofold. First, it examines the historical development of academic research on EVs. Second, it identifies the seminal works on the topic. Systematic literature review is used to identify and classify the academic literature on EV. Scientific articles written in English and published in social science journals listed in the Scopus data-base between 1995 and 2018, containing the term "electric vehicles" were identified and included in the analyses. We present a timeline on the evolution of the literature on EV. Research topics related to EVs that is most frequently covered as well as the under-research topics in the existing literature are discussed. Our analyses find out the most influential articles on EV, to which both researchers and policymakers ought to familiarise themselves with. There has been both an absolute increase in the research focus on EV and a growth relative to other research areas within the social sciences. "Environment" was the most frequent topic. With respect to under-researched topics, relatively less attention has been given to for example "Behaviour" than other topics related to EV. This can be somewhat of a concern given the stated policy objective in many countries to increase the EV market share.

How do contemporary women writers figure the female embodiment? How do they represent the world? To answer these questions, this thesis applies a transnational feminist framework to world literature to read the isomorphism between body and world. This research reflects a current need for further gender analysis in world literature as, at the same time this discourse has appeared as a viable approach and way of reading the production and reception of texts in the twenty-first century, critical theory has flourished in key areas such as new materialisms and transnational feminisms. Yet little work in the field of world literature brings these concepts to bear on questions of representation, transnational women's writing and embodiment. By bringing these theoretical frameworks together, a new approach to reading corporeality in transnational women's writing is possible. I position the materiality of the female body as an important site of close reading in this framework, as is evident in my analysis of texts by three authors, Caroline Bergvall, Yoko Tawada and Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill. Importantly, even though there are variations between the production of these authors texts, each text shares representational strategies in the figuration of the female body that relate to the global processes of production and translation in world literary space. Other considerations that inform this research on the body in women's writing include intersectionality, genre and writing identity politics. The recent shift from the nation to the transnational in literary criticism and the increase in multilingual writing and translation practice suggests a change in the shape of social space and also new challenges for the category of literature. As identity politics become increasingly porous, we are experiencing a moment where concepts such as exophonic writing and born-translated literature necessitates the analysis of new language games and alternative forms of writing that complicate traditional modes of literary analysis. Therefore I situate the short form as a genre with increasing circulation and new relevance in our digital age and as a form that raises particular questions for gender analysis in world literature. Consequently, the intersection of gender and genre offers a point of intervention in the field of world literature studies that highlights a need for this research on embodiment and the representation of women's bodies in short texts by contemporary women writers.

There has been little success with exporting Chinese culture abroad, despite considerable eff orts made by the Chinese government. Chinese science fiction (sci-fi) has attracted increasing global attention and may be an important cultural tool to express a Chinese narrative abroad. Previous research has focused on Chinese sci-fi as a national literary product to be consumed within Chinese borders, but little has been written on Chinese sci-fi as a transnational product to be consumed globally. In this paper I examine the role of Chinese sci-fi literature as a transnational cultural tool from a bottom-up perspective. I attempt to understand the current role and function of Chinese sci-fi in the Sinosphere by looking into cultural flows within the sci-fi community and examining the routes of this transnational and transcultural voyage. The findings show that Chinese sci-fi is becoming globalised reaching consumers all over the world yet still maintaining its regional context. Thus, this paper contributes to an enhanced understanding of how Chinese sci-fi literature can create a positive and powerful image of China from the bottom-up.

Community self-help has gained increasing prominence in Cambodia, and elsewhere, as an urban poverty reduction strategy of non-government organisations and the state. Embedded in this approach are assumptions of 'community' as a site of cooperation and 'women' as an inherently cohesive social group with a shared identity. If such interventions are to be effective and inclusive it is critical to understand how the practices and discourses that underscore them interact with local struggles to produce new forms of power.A qualitative case study of an urban informal settlement in Phnom Penh involving multiple semi-structured interviews with 25 women residents and staff of a nongovernment organisation identified differing perspectives of how development interventions worked and what they were supposed to achieve. Divergent motivations for participation, the selves women constructed as distinct from the identities they were expected to perform by non-government organisation staff, parallel group membership pathways controlled by wealthier residents, and the silencing of violence experienced by women illustrated these cleavages. In response to these misalignments women found alternate ways to assert entitlement and subvert social power to further their respective interests.This thesis makes three arguments. First, that in this settlement development and aid were a both a struggle over redistribution of resources and a symbolic struggle over morality and entitlement. Second, that development adapted to social structures by entrenching the power of existing elites, while social structure adapted to development by creatingparallel discourses and modes of participation. Third, that women were both oppressed (by local authorities, men, landlords, and police) and oppressors (of each other). These themes have important implications for self-reliance groups that mobilise women on the assumption that economic marginalisation will shape collective identity. Gender-based group formation offers the potential to transcend and transform the exclusions that women in urban informal settlements encounter in their everyday lives. Attention,however, must be paid to gradients of power and social hierarchy within and across groups – beyond the state/citizen dyad – and an understanding of 'development' as embedded in everyday politics.

Abstract The concept "intranslation" was coined in 1992 to refer to the importation of foreign books into a national language via translation. Since then, the concept has travelled, and its meaning has expanded to describe other aspects of the international production, circulation and reception of texts, such as the symbolic and material spaces, capitals and practices involved in these processes. With the purpose of continuing to explore its explanatory power, in this article I argue intranslation has been the dominant process in Mexico's translation policies of the 20th century. I examine three intranslation projects supported and/or implemented by the Mexican government. The article is divided into two main sections. The first section outlines the concepts of translation policy, intranslation and extranslation. The second section begins with an overview of the evolution of the Mexican publishing field. This is followed by a description of three translation projects supported by the Mexican government and by the analysis of the evolution of the roles and values attributed to translation.

This paper addresses key implications in momentous current global energy choices – both for social science and for society. Energy can be over-used as a lens for viewing social processes. But it is nonetheless of profound importance. Understanding possible 'sustainable energy' transformations requires attention to many tricky issues in social theory: around agency and structure and the interplay of power, contingency and practice. These factors are as much shaping of the knowledges and normativities supposedly driving transformation, as they are shaped by them. So, ideas and hopes about possible pathways for change – as well as notions of 'the transition' itself – can be deeply constituted by incumbent interests. The paper addresses these dynamics by considering contending forms of transformation centring on renewable energy, nuclear power and climate geoengineering. Several challenges are identified for social science. These apply especially where there are aims to help enable more democratic exercise of social agency. They enjoin responsibilities to 'open up' (rather than 'close down'), active political spaces for critical contention over alternative pathways. If due attention is to be given to marginalised interests, then a reflexive view must be taken of transformation. The paper ends with a series of concrete political lessons.

Results: Three broad themes recur in the emerging social science literature on HTA: the drivers of the establishment and concrete institutional designs of HTA bodies; the effects of institutionalized HTA on pricing and reimbursement systems and the broader society; and the social and political influences on HTA decisions. Conclusion: Social scientists bring a focus on institutions and social actors involved in HTA, using primarily small-N research designs and qualitative methods. They provide valuable critical perspectives on HTA, at times challenging its otherwise unquestioned assumptions. However, they often leave aside questions important to the HTA practitioner community, including the role of culture and values. Closer collaboration could be beneficial to tackle new relevant questions pertaining to HTA.

Role playing is increasingly used in European Studies and political science, to foster students' understanding of social science theories. Generally, role playing is only done by students. Not so in Theoretical Theatre, a teaching innovation which puts the onus on teachers to act. In our performances, teachers embody competing theories and enact dramatic scenarios in front of, and in collaboration with, their student audience. We explain how we developed Theoretical Theatre and contextualise it in the pedagogical literature of games and simulations, and of Drama In Education. We reflect on our experience of performing across four modules since 2012, and on our students' feedback, to discuss three key themes emerging from our practice: making theory more interesting and engaging, easier to understand and apply; and changing classroom dynamics and engagement. We outline the challenges and opportunities in sustaining this teaching method and transferring it to other settings and disciplines.
