Although for a long time geography considered the notion of frontier to imply "isolation", this text suggests that it be understood as a space of "convergences". After analyzing the process of struggles for land in Pontal do Paranapanema (western region of the state of São Paulo, Brazil), specifically the flow of workers from the city of Presidente Prudente (SP) to the settlements in the region, it is possible to conclude that separation does not explain the social cohesion that exists between those two spaces (city and countryside). The methodology used combined gathering of quantitative data with fieldwork in the researched neighborhoods and settlements, using semi-structured interviews. ; Si la frontera, en la Geografía, por mucho tiempo se conceptuó como "aislamiento", este texto pretende comprenderla como espacio de "confluencias". Analizando el proceso de lucha por la tierra en Pontal do Paranapanema (región oeste del estado de São Paulo, Brasil), más específicamente el flujo de trabajadores de la ciudad de Presidente Prudente (SP) hacia los acampamientos de la región, se concluye que la separación no explica la cohesión social existente entre estos dos espacios (ciudad y campo). La metodología utilizada unió la recolección de datos cuantitativos con la realización de trabajos de campo a los barrios investigados y a los acampamientos, con el uso de entrevistas semiestructuradas. ; Se a fronteira, na Geografia, por muito tempo conceituou-se como "separação", este texto pretende entendê-la como espaço de "confluências". Analisando o processo de luta pela terra no Pontal do Paranapanema (região oeste do estado de São Paulo, Brasil), mais especificamente o fluxo de trabalhadores da cidade de Presidente Prudente (SP) em direção aos acampamentos da região, conclui-se que a separação não explica a coesão social existente entre esses dois espaços (cidade e campo). A metodologia utilizada mesclou a coleta de dados quantitativos com a realização de trabalhos de campo aos bairros estudados e aos acampamentos, com o uso de entrevistas semiestruturadas.

O objetivo deste artigo é compreender quais são os sentidos produzidos nos ditos e nos não ditos pelas revistas Veja, Época, IstoÉ e CartaCapital sobre a posse da presidente Dilma Rousseff. Com base na perspectiva teórico-metodológica da análise do discurso, identificamos três formações discursivas predominantes nos ditos das quatro revistas: Posse controversa, Posse melancólica e Posse da dieta. Já nos sentidos produzidos pelos não ditos, observamos por parte de Época, IstoÉ e CartaCapital a reiteração da maioria dos sentidos presentes nos ditos de Veja, que saiu na frente na cobertura sobre a posse. Isso mostra, entre outras coisas, que a prática discursiva do jornalismo prevalece em relação ao posicionamento editorial das revistas.

In der vorliegenden Masterarbeit werden zwei Regierungsansprachen des brasilianischen Präsidenten Jair Messias Bolsonaro aus dem Jahr 2020 untersucht, die sich inhaltlich mit der Corona-Pandemie beschäftigen. Brasilien gilt gemessen an der Anzahl der Corona-Toten als eines der weltweit am stärksten von der Pandemie betroffenen Länder und Bolsonaros Umgang mit dieser globalen Gesundheitskrise als höchst umstritten. Die Arbeit wird in den Kontext des autoritären Populismus gesetzt, dem Bolsonaros Politikstil zuzuordnen ist. Der Fokus liegt auf diskursiven Polarisierungsstrategien. Unter Berücksichtigung bereits in der brasilianischen Politik und Gesellschaft vorhandener Spaltungen steht die Frage im Zentrum, welche Polarisierungen in den beiden ausgewählten Redebeiträgen Bolsonaros stattfinden und inwiefern die Pandemie zum Zweck der Konstruktion von Freund-Feind-Stereotypen und der Diffamierung bzw. Legitimation von Institutionen und Personen instrumentalisiert wird. Theoretisch und methodologisch wird die Arbeit in die Diskursforschung eingebettet und der diskursanalytische Ansatz nach Marchart verwendet, der sich in Anlehnung an die Essex School (Laclau und Mouffe) herausgebildet hat. Mithilfe des Minimalmodells werden Forderungs-, Subjektivierungs- und Kontraritätsstrukturen der Regierungsansprachen untersucht, um Legitimationsstrategien, Widersprüche, vermeintliche Feindbilder und Unterstützer*innen herauszuarbeiten. Dabei wird betont, dass es sich bei dem ausgewählten Diskursmaterial lediglich um einen Ausschnitt der Äußerungen Bolsonaros zur Pandemie handelt und beim Vergleich mit anderen Textquellen deutliche Unterschiede im Hinblick auf Polarisierungsstrategien nachweisbar sind. Aus Bolsonaros Sicht gibt es nicht nur eine*n Verantwortliche*n für den angeblich falschen Umgang mit der Corona-Pandemie, sondern zahlreiche Schuldige, zum Beispiel ehemalige Gesundheitsminister, weitere Politiker*innen, die Wissenschaft, rechtsstaatliche Institutionen und die brasilianische Presse.

The "citizen revolution" was a political project executed mainly between 2007 and 2016 by the former president of the Republic of Ecuador, Rafael Correa Delgado, under the paradigm of 21st century socialism. The main characteristic of this project was to introduce a new political agenda to the country that was differentiated from past agendas, by focusing on issues such as the recognition of new rights, improvements to education, instituting a new economic model, and strengthening government and sovereignty, among others. Under this context, this work aims to analyze the political attention of the ex-president, explaining why some issues are more important than others, and why they varied over time. Based on a conceptual framework that takes ideas from the agenda-setting theory, the areas on which the political agenda concentrates are measured by the Shannon entropy index, and its various changes are explained as the results of preferences, institutional factors, and external events. The analysis is based on extensive database analyses of 10 years (covering Rafael Correa's presidency) of government speeches, which are coded according to the methodology of the Comparative Agendas Project (CAP). To the best of our knowledge, this paper is the first work to apply the CAP methodology in Ecuador. ; La "revolución ciudadana" fue el proyecto político ejecutado principalmente por el expresidente de la República del Ecuador, Rafael Correa Delgado, bajo el paradigma del socialismo del siglo XXI, entre 2007 y 2016. Este proyecto se caracterizó por establecer una nueva agenda política en el país, diferenciándose de las pasadas, enfocándose en temas como el reconocimiento de nuevos derechos, mejora de la educación, propuesta un nuevo modelo económico y el fortalecimiento del gobierno y la soberanía entre otros. Bajo este contexto, este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la atención política de la agenda del expresidente de la república, explicar por qué algunos temas son más importantes que otros y por qué hay variaciones en ellos a lo largo del tiempo. Con base en un marco conceptual que toma ideas de la teoría del establecimiento de la agenda, se mide la concentración de la agenda política a través del índice de entropía de Shannon y se explican los diferentes cambios en ella a raíz de las preferencias, las fricciones institucionales y los eventos externos. El análisis se basa en extensas bases de datos sobre 10 años de discursos del gobierno (presidencia de Rafael Correa), que están codificados de acuerdo con la metodología del Proyecto de Agendas Comparadas (PAC). Por lo que conocemos, este es el primer trabajo que aplica esta metodología en Ecuador. ; A "revolução cidadã" foi o projeto político realizado principalmente pelo ex-presidente da República do Equador, Rafael Correa Delgado, sob o paradigma do socialismo do século XXI entre 2007 e 2016. Esse projeto foi caracterizado por estabelecer uma nova agenda política no país, diferenciando-se do passado, concentrando-se em questões como reconhecimento de novos direitos, melhoria da educação, proposta de um novo modelo econômico e fortalecimento do governo e da soberania, entre outros. Nesse contexto, este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a atenção política na agenda do ex-presidente da república, explicar por que algumas questões são mais importantes que outras e por que há variações nelas ao longo do tempo. Com base em uma estrutura conceitual que retira idéias da teoria da definição da agenda, a concentração da agenda política é medida através do índice de entropia de Shannon e as diferentes mudanças nele são explicadas como resultado de preferências, atritos institucionais e eventos externos. A análise é baseada em extensas bases de dados de 10 anos de discursos governamentais (presidência de Rafael Correa), codificados de acordo com a metodologia do Projeto de agendas comparativas (PAC). Até onde sabemos, este é o primeiro trabalho que aplica essa metodologia no Equador.

This article aims to identify the factors that influence the selection of ministers in Brazil, considering the number of portfolios and their importance and saliency. We identify the regional influence on such selection, controlling for ministers' personal characteristics and trajectories, including political aspects, expertise, and proximity, and loyalty to the president. We use an original dataset that covers the entire period known as the New Republic. ; Este artículo busca identificar los factores que influyen la selección de ministros en Brasil, considerando la importancia y protagonismo de cada uno de los ministerios. Buscamos identificar la influencia de los aspectos regionales en esta selección, controlando las características y trayectorias personales de los ministros, ya sea en lo que respecta a aspectos políticos y técnicos o a la proximidad y lealtad al presidente de la República. Para ello, utilizamos una base de datos inédita, que cubre todo el período de la Nueva República. ; Este artigo procura identificar os fatores que influenciam a escolha dos ministros no Brasil, considerando a importância/saliência de cada um dos ministérios. Buscamos conhecer a influência dos aspectos regionais sobre tal escolha, controlando as características e trajetórias pessoais dos ministros, seja no que diz respeito aos aspectos políticos e técnicos, seja com relação à proximidade e à lealdade ao presidente da República. Para isso, utilizamos um banco de dados inédito, que abrange todo o período da Nova República.
