Storyteller, literary critic, University professor, translator, screenwriter, but first of all partisan and protagonist of one of the most significant episodes of Resistance in Piedmont, Mario Bonfantini (Novara, 1904 - Turin, 1978), thanks to his political, social and cultural commitment, can stimulate a multidisciplinary debate around his figure. Starting from the studies so far conducted, the Humanities Department of the University of Turin, in collaboration with the University of Cassino and Lazio Meridionale and with the Historical Institute of Resistance in Novara, organized the convention Mario Bonfantini: un salto nella libertà, which took place on December 16, 2016 in Turin. This convention allowed the investigation of Mario Bonfantini's figure and work through a number of critical looks that have created a dialogue between his life and his readings, his moral ideals, his literary and academic production, returning a complex but extremely coherent image of this writer.

David Graeber, anthropologist and political activist born in New York, prematurely passed away in the Fall of 2020. His ability to communicate to a broader audience, his courage in tackling the 'great questions' of classical social science, and his pragmatic approach to anarchism as a political horizon for the present, made him an inspiring figure for scholars, activists, and public intellectuals worldwide. This article focuses on his ground-breaking theoretical contribution to the fields of economic and political anthropology, which I consider an antidote to the intellectual paralysis that dominates contemporary radical thought.
