Book description: Patient safety is an issue which in recent years has grown to prominence in a number of countries' political and health service agendas. The World Health Organisation has launched the World Alliance for Patient Safety. Millions of patients, according to the Alliance, endure prolonged ill-health, disability and death caused by unreliable practices, services, and poor health care environments. At any given time 1.4 million people worldwide are suffering from an infection acquired in a health facility. Patient Safety, Law Policy and Practice explores the impact of legal systems on patient safety initiatives. It asks whether legal systems are being used in appropriate ways to support state and local managerial systems in developing patient safety procedures, and what alternative approaches can and should be utilized. The chapters in this collection explore the patient safety managerial structures that exist in countries where there is a developed patient safety infrastructure and culture. The legal structures of these countries are explored and related to major in-country patient safety issues such as consent to treatment protocols and guidelines, complaint handling, adverse incident reporting systems, and civil litigation systems, in order to draw comparisons and conclusions on patient safety.

The problem of regional migration is treated in the article. The development of the Far Eastern territories is a priority now. The government has developed many large-scale projects aimed at supporting the remote region, but the problem of emigration of the economically active population has not settled since 1991. The problem of the outflow of promising young personnel from its territory is particularly acute. The purpose of this research is to study the reasons for the migration of young people from the Primorsky Region - one of the regions of the Far East. The main tasks were to obtain visions of migration moods and motivation of migration behavior of students. The study used a psychological verbal-communicative method - a survey in which a specially designed list of questions was used as a means to collect information from the respondent. The survey covered about 1,000 respondents between the ages of 15 and 30. The research has shown that the main reason for emigration of school graduates is the opportunity to progress, studying in prestigious domestic and foreign universities, working in the largest Russian and foreign companies, that not enough represented here. Excellent and good rated school graduates prefer to enter Moscow and St. Petersburg universities. This means that most prospective workers in the future want to leave the territory of the region. Analysis of the responses of the university graduates revealed the prevalence of negative expectations about their future and the future of the territories. The data indicated that the main reasons to leave the country and the Primorsky Region are low job prospects for university graduates, lack of self-realization possibilities, low wages and the instability of the region's political and socio-economic situation. In addition, the situation is exacerbated by the fact that respondents, for the most part, do not know about the projects that are being implemented in the region and do not see career prospects, which confirms the implementation of many strategic projects of the region only on paper. The lack of measures to prevent the emigration of young people will have a number of negative economic and social consequences, one of which is the reduction of competitevness of the territory. Creating favorable conditions for young people in the region, active public policy to attract young skilled professionals in Primorye is a prerequisite for the development of the region's intellectual capital and a guarantee of its dynamic socio-economic development. ; The problem of regional migration is treated in the article. Purpose: Family firms appear to be an attractive topic in a number of research areas. Probably the most important topic is still the succession process combined with possible hurdles and gaps. This paper aims to focus on the special variable of the psychological dimension. It attempts to summarize findings and implications as well as suggestions for where potential research gaps are. Design/methodology/approach: The paper is based on a two-stage research design. The first step is a literature review. All articles published in the Family Business Review (FBR) between 1997 and 2011 were collected and analysed regarding their topics, findings, and implications. As a second step, this knowledge has been applied to conduct a thorough literature analysis on psychological aspects of succession. Findings: Psychological aspects are often used together with other constructs. The authors strongly recommend handling them as an individualized, highly complex topic, even if social, political, and other aspects are often mixed with psychological aspects and therefore difficult to discuss and separate. A separation of these factors will help researchers present findings in a much clearer way. Research limitations/implications: The main limitation of the article lies in the methodology itself, as the literature review solely concentrates on empirical papers that exclusively investigate psychological aspects with regard to succession. Nevertheless, the aim was to elaborate a focused psychological field model in terms of succession. Likewise, critical aspects considering the family business system have been taken into consideration. Finally, a literature review is commonly seen as a post-work "dead body". However, the implications show a clear, directed focus within family business research. The authors recommend an increase in the number of concisely formulated research questions instead of generic approaches. Practical implications: Businesses should closely heed three imperative problem areas (individual, interpersonal and organizational) as well as the stage in which conflicts arise (preparation, transfer/takeover, and continuation), if they want to be successful in the succession process. Originality/value: The paper offers an overview of the limited number of existing articles and their implications that address the psychological aspects of the succession process. Furthermore, the psychological issues identified that cause conflicts during succession are consolidated and categorized.

In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat die Literatur der indigenen Bevölkerung Kanadas immer mehr an Bedeutung gewonnen. Zeitgenössische literarische Werke können nicht mehr als reine Protestakte verstanden werden, wie dies in der Zeit des organisierten Widerstands innerhalb der "Red Power"-Bewegung in den 1960er und 70er Jahren oft der Fall war, sondern weisen einen hohen Grad an Diversifizierung auf. Ein wichtiger Themenbereich stellt die Behandlung von individuellen und kollektiven Traumata dar, die ihren Ursprung vor allem in den im Zuge der Assimilierungspolitik entstandenen Internatsschulen und den Folgewirkungen von kultureller und sozialer Entfremdung haben. Das Hauptaugenmerk dieser vorliegenden Masterarbeit liegt auf der Auseinandersetzung mit unterschiedlichen psychologischen Aspekten in ausgewählten zeitgenössischen Werken. Nach einer eingehenden Analyse der historischen und aktuellen Herausforderungen bezüglich der Veröffentlichung, Rezeption und Kategorisierung von indigener Literatur, werden die einzelnen Texte in Bezug auf die Darstellung von verschiedenen Formen von Traumata diskutiert. While many texts published in the context of the 'Red Power Movement' expressed resistance to persisting inequalities, contemporary literary expressions cannot be reduced to protest writing any longer but have proven to be highly innovative and diverse. Numerous Native-authored texts creatively engage with the consequences of traumatic experiences inflicted on the Indigenous population by colonial policies, notably the residential school system and the cultural as well as social alienation caused by these imperial policies. This thesis focuses on Native writers' engagement with individual and collective trauma and its ramifications. After a thorough analysis of the historic and current challenges concerning the publication, reception and categorization of Native writing, it examines the representation of different psychological aspects in selected narratives. The analysis shows that contemporary Native writers employ a plethora of innovative and creative strategies to communicate individual and collective trauma in a persuasive manner and to express resistance to it on the extratextual as well as intratextual level of communication. The present paper proposes to focus on the important psychological characteristics implied in the activity of start-up a business. At the beginning, we present the definition and the specific points of an entrepreneur and also of an entrepreneurial activity. Then we restrict the sphere to the psychological aspects connected to the start-up business activity: the courage, the self trust, the independence attitude, the intuition, the professional training and the environment knowledge, the ability of adapting, the great availability for work, the perseverance, good organiser, a good communicator, respect for the collaborators, positive thinking, socially active. In the end, we jump at the conclusions and talked about the importance and the roles of the projects financed by the European Union, the Romanian Government, the Social European Fund and Structural Instruments.

The authors study the features of the of legal language use in the conditions of socio-political transformations. The use of various legal terms in the revolutionary periods of the formation of the Russian state and law from the beginning to the end of the twentieth century is analyzed. It is noted that a whole layer of terms reflecting new realities appeared in the legal language after the October Revolution; this fact allowed legal drafters to use them as a political tool, to formulate legal norms in such a way that they fit into the overall political agenda. In turn, the collapse of the Soviet Union also led to a radical change in social and political relations, the total destruction of the established legal system. Significant changes occurred in the legal language. The authors make the conclusion that the legal language is a kind of a conductor of political will and in some case the tool for manipulating the content of legal norms. Legal language is an indicator of social and political transformations. Emerging new words reflect the emerging social relations, demonstrate a new political course, chosen in one or another period of state development.

The work is devoted to the problem of types of political leaders in modern society. The author made accent on modern psychological models of leaders' typology. It has been concluded that leader is a member of a group who is much more responsible to take care about the achievement of group targets than other members. There are different typologies of political leadership. Among them it is necessary to name typologies of M. Weber, J. Burn, D. Goleman and R. Tucker. It is obvious that today social development needs the elaboration of integrative and united psychological model of types of political leadership which will help to resolve the most burning questions of the global political development. Purpose of the Study: The urgency of the problem under investigation is because, the issue of gifted students' education is one of the most difficult and interesting aspects of contemporary pedagogy. The purpose of the article is to identify the psychological characteristics of the gifted students' development. In this article, the school difficulties of gifted students are revealed and the causes of internal and external nature are analyzed. Methodology: The leading approach to the study of this problem is a method of a theoretical analysis and synthesis of social, political, and psycho-pedagogical literature. Results: The main result of the study is a theoretical analysis of the relationship between learning and the development of gifted children and their psychological characteristics. Application:The materials of the article can be useful for teachers, students, and a wide range of readers interested in the problems of gifted students' education. The authors pay special attention to the social and emotional consequences, which can be rather destructive if appropriate assistance is not provided by teachers, psychologists, and parents.

AI is a dual-use technology that can be used for both civilian and military purposes or alternatively with good or bad intentions. Tech giants are in a precarious position where their technology is being used more and more for military purposes, against the values of users and employees. Responsibility grows on all sides, behavioral alternatives become more and more complex. Anxiety and feeling overwhelmed lead to lethargy and paralysis within the affected people and make communication and motivation for action more difficult. Communication about AI and its implications must be moved away from threats and fear mongering, to facts, visions and clear reasons why. ; This paper was written in 2019 as part of a research project at scip AG, Switzerland. The goals of the research are: 1) to find out why adolescent badminton atheletes burnout and dropout; 2) to analyzing the psychological characteristics of adolescent athletes who burnout and dropout; and 3) to analyzing solutions and strategies for burnout and dropout athletes. With a convergent or concurrent approach, the research design is a mix of different methods. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and observation. The SPSS statistical application for Windows version 23.0 and the NVivo 10 software were used to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that burnout in athletes was caused by lack of training variety, too fast specialization, intense training, a lot of pressure, and psychological instability. Meanwhile, dropouts are caused by the focus on education, difficulty in dividing time, switching sports, burnout, early specialization, feel too much pressure, have a negative impression, and environmental influence. Psychological characteristics of burnout athletes are categorized as very high motivation, self-confidence and mental preparation are categorized as high, while anxiety control, concentration, and the importance of the team is categorized as moderate. Dropout athletes are categorized as very low motivation and concentration, very low concentration category, self-confidence and team importance are categorized as moderate, anxiety control and mental preparation are categorized as low. Solutions and strategies for adolescent athletes are support and mentoring of parents and coaches, improving coaches' psychological skills, a comfortable environment for athletes, and support from the government and parent organizations.
