El articulo analiza tres novelas de autores cubanos contemporaneos residentes en los Estados Unidos desde una perspectiva antropologica, subrayando la construccion simbolica y la expresion literaria de la identidad etnica. El ensayo concluye que los escritores cubanoamericanos mas recientes estan haciendo la transicion entre una literatura del exilio y una literatura de la inmigracion que se acerca a la experiencia de otras minorias etnicas, especialmente los hispanos en los Estados Unidos.
