В статье рассматривается публицистическая деятельность известного якутского просветителя, лингвиста С. А. Новгородова, его вклад в журналистику. Автор выявляет связь публицистики С. А. Новгородова с этнической культурой якутов и рассматривает ее как явление, вызванное социокультурной трансформацией якутского общества на фоне демократизации общественной жизни, в период когда зарождалась письменность на якутском языке и возникли первые периодические издания. ; The publicistic activity of the well-known Yakut enlightener, linguist S. A. Novgorodov, his contribution into journalistic are observed. The author determines the connection of publicism of S. A. Novgorodov with the ethnic culture of Yakut people and observes it as a phenomenon, caused by social-cultural transformation of Yakut society on the background of public life democratization, in the period when the writing system of Yakut language was arising and the first periodicals appeared.
