Much of the Camorra's literary production focuses on the aspects of military control of the territory and on predatory activities in politics and the economy. Less attention is paid to the social reproduction factors of organized crime groups. The aspects of mutuality and internal solidarity in the champs have never received a systematic and in-depth observation. This research instead proposes the analysis of the elements of legitimation and consent of the Camorra groups in the territories in which they are located. The welfare and its double is a work that is articulated through a rich system that uses quantitative and ethnographic methods: an approach located at the meeting point between sociology and anthropology in the analysis of social policies, which uses unpublished and difficult judicial documents availability. A demanding fieldwork in the Caserta area has in fact made it possible to decipher the forms of social assistance present: public and mafia ones. What emerges is the panorama of a criminal whole that ensures an incredible protection against affiliates and their families, which competes with the protections offered by public welfare. However, the results of this study show that it is precisely in the territories most affected by the mafia presence that new forms of social struggle are born. It is here, in fact - where criminal infiltrations affect welfare service contracts - that the most innovative social actions were born in defense of the weakest categories.

As the investment expectations for EdTech businesses have been growing during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, there is a need to reflect critically about the pedagogical implications of trends like datafication, platformisation and technological solutionism. Recently, social science fiction has been used to stimulate critical, sociological imagination about the future uses of educational technology (Macgilchrist et al., 2020; Selwyn et al., 2020). This paper expands the use of social science fiction for the current Italian context as a method for critical analysis in research and in teacher education. Two vignettes are developed to illustrate two scenarios of possible configurations of educational technology within primary schools in the year 2026. It is shown how opposite technological configurations manifest different under- lying pedagogical assumptions regarding children and teacher agency, literacy and the politics of knowledge. By relating the use of educational media to issues of pedagogy and didactics, writing and discussing social science fiction provides a significant opportunity to promote reflexive uses of technology in education. ; Con l'apparizione del COVID-19 e la DaD a livello globale il settore EdTech (educational technology) celebra nuove opportunità di investimento e di crescità. Science is facing a fundamental turning point of its history. Never as in this historical moment it appears giant and powerful, but at the same time it shows high fragility: the concentration of information control power in the hands of few commercial groups, the iniquity of a system that benefits developed countries, the restriction of academic autonomy by political and economic power, the precariousness of working conditions of young researchers, the increase in the number of cases of scientific fraud and misconduct, the questioning of its authority by a portion of the public. Can openness be understood as a system capable of strengthening science and treating the diseases that afflict it?

In this focus article the book Making Social Sciences More Scientific by Rein Taagepera is discussed. The book proposes an innovative approach to quantitative modelling, the "quantitatively predictive logical modeling". In the first contribution, the originality of this approach is discussed, through a comparison with three traditional methodological perspectives: qualitative research; rational- choice modeling; empirically-oriented quantitative research. Then, the potential of Taagepera's approach is evaluated with respect to the problem of the relationship between concepts and signs. In this regard, the non-linear, theoretically-driven construction of mathematical models advocated by Taagepera could provide a far more accurate operationalization of the conceptual models developed in the social sciences, which often feature non-linear relationships. Finally, the possibility of integrating Taagepera's suggestion with the traditional quantitative approach -- based on the generalized linear model -- is discussed, by pointing out potential problems and possible solutions. In the second contribution, Taagepera's critique of the prevalent approach to quantitative analysis of social phenomena is illustrated and commented, along with his proposal to adopt quantitatively predictive logical models as the basic analytical tool of the social sciences. Then, it is argued that, though based on sound arguments, Taagepera's critique of generalized linear regression models is somewhat too severe, since it overlooks some of regression's analytical best strengths. Il lavoro è il risultato di un contributo ad un convegno avente come oggetto il legame tra la letteratura, le scienze umane e l'economia politica. Il lavoro mostra come fino alla prima metà dell'ottocento questo legame fosse, sia da parte degli umanisti che da parte degli economisti, piuttosto stretto. In seguito si e verificata invece una certa dicotomia per non dire rottura tra le due discipline.

Although it is not a new phenomenon, citizen science is a form of collaborative research whose importance has grown in recent years. There is no single definition of citizen science and although this is the prevailing expression, activities are often referred to by other terms. However, the various terms used emphasize the key element, which is the voluntary participation of non-expert citizens in scientific research. Citizen science encompasses a wide range of activities and practices that can cover the entire life cycle of a research, from data collection to publication of results, and even evaluation. The first part of the article briefly traces the history of citizen science, highlighting the implications of the different facets through which it is defined. Then, it gives an overview of the state of the art, the initiatives, guidelines and good practices, the open issues, and the most representative institutions and organizations. A series of data are also provided regarding its dissemination, and reflections on the impact of this form of research on the scientific community and society, as well as on specific aspects related to open science and sustainable development. Finally, the article focuses on the role of university libraries and public libraries for citizen science. ; La citizen science è una forma di ricerca collaborativa la cui importanza è aumentata sensibilmente negli ultimi anni, anche se non si tratta di un fenomeno nuovo. Non vi è una definizione univoca di citizen science e sebbene questa espressione sia la più diffusa, anche in Italia, le attività a cui fa riferimento sono spesso chiamate in altro modo. Tuttavia, i diversi termini utilizzati enfatizzano un elemento chiave che è la partecipazione volontaria di cittadini non esperti alla ricerca scientifica. La citizen science comprende un'ampia serie di attività e pratiche che possono coprire l'intero ciclo di vita della ricerca, dalla raccolta dei dati alla pubblicazione dei risultati, e finanche la valutazione.La prima parte dell'articolo traccia sommariamente la storia della citizen science, evidenziando le implicazioni delle diverse faccette attraverso cui la si guarda nelle varie definizioni. Successivamente, offre una panoramica dello stato dell'arte, delle iniziative e delle buone pratiche, delle questioni aperte, e delle istituzioni e organizzazioni più rappresentative che se ne occupano. Vengono inoltre forniti dei dati sulla sua diffusione e condotte delle riflessioni sull'impatto di questa forma di ricerca sulla comunità scientifica e sulla società, nonché sugli aspetti collegati all'open science e allo sviluppo sostenibile. Infine, l'articolo si focalizza sul ruolo delle biblioteche delle università e delle biblioteche pubbliche nella citizen science.
