; The article aims to examine the uses of social media by social mobilisation and their transition towards social movements. Based on a multiple case study of recent social mobilisations, a discourse analysis was conducted to compare uses of social media in the narratives associated with these social mobilisations. Three main dimensions were analysed: 1) references to democracy, in particular criticisms of representative democracy and proposals for alternatives; 2) comments on the role of social media in social mobilisation and its development; and 3) reflections on tensions between online and offline actions as part of collective action.
The utility of information and communication technologies (ICT) becomes increasingly more essential in modern societies, and the new public space provided by ICT gives opportunities for people who previously did not have tools to be heard, to discuss, to meet and to start social movements, as happened in the case of «Occupy Wall Street» or «Arab Spring». Recently the similar phenomenon has been observed in Japan, a country with the existence of weak civil society, little interest of citizens to protest, and the lack of active social movements. Yet lately, new groups against the government appear taking advantage of the use of ICT, especially social networks. In this research we aim to study the impact, the application, and the advantages and disadvantages of social networks in these protest movements in order to increase better political education. The methodology to be used is case study (process-tracing method), analyzing data and information collected from various digital communication sources. After the study we conclude that the use of social networks contributes to the activation of Japanese civil society.

; So-called social media – those Internet tools that allow for the conception and dissemination of information on virtual networks and communities, such as Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest – have revolutionised patterns in the access and spread of information. Apparently, these media have a disruptive or ground-breaking potential with respect to the former circumstances, which were characterised by the informative oligarchy of a few parent companies owning the mass media, or means necessary for mass communication. Today, however, any Internet user may cease to be a simple recipient of information and to become an active node capable of generating and sharing net content. The expansion of the Internet in recent years and the ease of use brought about by the web 2.0 environment have enhanced this potential. This is resulting in a redistribution of power between the different social and political actors (governments, enterprises, administrations, political parties, the media, etc.), and the emergence of a new communication system, where new codes and rules of play are in effect. The implications of this transformation in the political field are numerous. These media are establishing a new public space in which public opinion takes shape and spreads, where debate and political conflict find a vehicle, and where collective action dynamics are articulated. One need only consider, for example, the role of social networks in the emergence of political movements or in the rise of new political parties. ; Els anomenats social media –les eines d'Internet que permeten crear i difondre informació en xarxes i comunitats virtuals, com p.e., Twitter, Facebook o Pinterest– han revolucionat les pautes d'accés i difusió de la informació. Political trust is essential for a democratic regime to work, and a declining asset in Western countries. It has been confirmed theoretically and empirically that news media are an important source of influence on political trust, though literature have not considered social media, in which the circulation of false or misleading information, and propaganda, might have a negative effect on political trust, to be relevant channels of news consumption. In order to explore the effect of social media on political trust in comparison with that of traditional media, an ANOVA test and hierarchical multiple linear regression models were run on a three-wave panel survey, during the presidential elections of 2018 (N = 701) in Mexico. The findings indicate that the election campaign had a positive effect on institutional trust, growing as the campaign developed, and that there was a positive influence from social media, followed by television.
This qualitative research was conducted by mining the client's behavior by using the theory and method of base mining and database. For this reason, 15 customer theories were applied through Twitter, telegrams and interviews with 10 bank managers from the province of Kurdistan. The compilation of the first topics was done during the coding process and the categories were obtained. Then, in the coding step of the base, the link between the coding paradigms was determined; In the step of selective coding, all the coding paradigms are explained. Compared with previous research, it can be found that the current model eliminates defects of the previous model and offers a complete picture of effective terms on the behavior of the banking client and, finally, offers a model of customer behavior in private and government banks.Customer' behavior, Social Media, Theory Mining Method, Database, Data Mining.
The use of the term social networks has spread in a majority way in the Spanish-speaking countries, not only in an academic and scientific way, but also in the whole society, understanding a commonly accepted meaning to refer to certain online tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn among others. Thus, we must ask ourselves if this terminological conception and the conceptual form are well used and if there is a better alternative, to clarify such an important field of study in the social sciences. The article compiles definitions and uses of the term, placing special emphasis on the most primitive definitions of social networks that we can find in the Anglo-Saxon literature. Based on social scientific studies that were published in English and more recently in Spanish, we can explain the detailed conceptualization and differentiation of social networks and social media, emphasizing the way of improvement. A distinction is made between types of social networks and the possibilities offered by distinguishing between social networks and social media for research methodology in social sciences in Spanish.
