ABSTRACT. This article has as objective the understanding of the social actions performed by Lourival Soares da Silva, who stood out for a life dedicated to activism in the movements of rural workers acting for several years as president of the Rio das Pedras Settlement Association, in Uberlândia. To understand and analyze their actions, a qualitative, observational approach was used and also through semi-structured interviews, in the methodological perspective of oral history. The theoretical framework consisted of a combination of Max Weber's comprehensive sociology, which is based on the understanding of human conduct endowed with meaning, more specifically the rational action in relation to values, with Jürgen Habermas' theory of communicative action, centered on oriented actions by the intersubjective agreements that are revealed in language and communication. It is concluded that the meanings linked to the social actions carried out by the social movement leader are summarized in categories based on the values of equality, justice, right to work, dialogue, democracy and collective social action. These ethical and emancipatory standards are not limited to their finalistic aspect, or their results, but above all in the value of a daily course that is very present in the imagination of social movements. ; ABSTRACT. ; We analyze how meaning is attributed to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by the markets, government, and actors from the civil society involved in aggregate mining in São Paulo. CSR is presented as fundamental for reducing the negative aspects and conflicts between representatives of society caused by mining. Little attention has been paid to the relationship between how different CSR interpretations emerge from interactions between multiple actors in the mining sector. Through a qualitative case study, 58 interviews were conducted with people representing civil society, the state, and the market. Additionally, document analysis and observation techniques enriched our data set. The paper reveals three interpretations of CSR among the groups studied: voluntary, environmental, and social. Based on the relationship between these interpretations of CSR, we can see a pattern in how those involved build meaning.

The work of Maria Isaura Pereira de Queiroz has been influential in the understanding of social change in Brazil. Her analyses of the modifications, persistence, adaptations and resistance that have flourished in many spheres of social life provide elements for a reading of the social-anthropological singularities of current change processes that have gone on in the country since the 1950s. Based on an analysis in which the microsociological and macrosociological aspects are combined, she has not only drawn a sociological profile of some environments (rural neighbourhoods, for example), but also developed an approach that shows how Brazilian society has changed under increasing urbanization and industrialization - processes which create interactions, practices and specific contexts that are unique to Brazil and do not merely mirror the trajectory followed by other nations.
This article addresses the teaching and learning dynamics of theatrical language in 2 courses of Licentiate Degree in Countryside Education (Licenciatura em Educação do Campo – LEDOC) – at the University of Brasília (Universidade de Brasília – UnB) and the Federal University of Piauí (Universidade Federal do Piauí – UFPI). What is common between these two courses is the work of Terra em Cena, a theater and audiovisual collective that operates as a university outreach program and a research group, based on popular education methodologies and on Political Theater (Theater of the Oppressed and Dialectic Theater). Experiences of working with student groups and creating theater groups in rural communities are described and analyzed, in order to see in which aspects theatre education contributes to qualifying educators from an emancipatory perspective. It is verified that adopting the Theatre of the Oppressed, as a method and education content, potentiates the LEDOCs as cultural resistance fronts and as a crucial domain for expanding the Brazilian popular education. The present study sought to investigate, in the perspective of psychoanalytic clinic, a case study permeated by the specificities of the contexts of social urgency in the field of migration. Social urgency entails situations in which the lack of material conditions of a portion of people joins discourses that place the subject in positions of objectification, submission to the other in the social bond, therefore in situations of discursive helplessness (Rosa, 2016). The theoretical and clinical elaborations are based on the clinical experience that supported the construction of the clinical case of a child and their parents, Bolivians, marked by the consequences of slave labor and the child's autism diagnosis. Based on the movements arising from this case, we present the positions taken by the psychoanalyst facing a context in which the socio-political aspects of suffering articulate with situations of forced migration. This path converges in the effort to locate new approaches and psychoanalytic devices, which takes into account the subject position in the social bond, proposing significant changes vis-à-vis the demands addressed to the psychoanalytic clinic by institutional and social urgency contexts. In addition, we propose the notion of transferential network, as an instrument that guides the psychoanalyst's work with interinstitutional contacts, with professionals from other areas and with those who are in situations of social urgency.

The purpose of this article is to present the perspective of the neopragmatist philosopher Richard Rorty on the philosophy and professional activity of its practitioners. In this context, we privilege some aspects of his anti-representational criticism to the modern philosophical legacy and also his prognosis about what the philosophical activity can become in the contemporaneity. Throughout Rorty's argument, we have a comprehensive critique of the dominant epistemological notion of a specular mental image and, on the other hand, the proposition of a necessary transition to the cultural field in which the philosophical emphasis would lie in the possibilities of using language as a mode of dealing with the world.
This study analyzed the environmental and health aspects related to babaçu coconut breakers belonging to the Regional Association of Rural Female Workers, Tocantins State (Portuguese acronym "ASMUBIP – TO"). The breaking of the babaçu coconut is a painful activity, often performed by women of low income, living in rural areas and using rudimentary techniques and equipment. The activity can cause injuries to the hands or other parts of body. In addition, it can cause organic changes due to awkward postures and repetitive movements. The study was both qualitative and quantitative. Data were collected in the field using a structured form with open and closed questions. The respondents mentioned nine symptoms related to breaking the babaçu: back pain, kidney pain, joint pain, body aches, eye problems, sore throat, uterine fibroids, anemia and skin diseases. This work is vital to the economic survival of the breakers. On the other hand, the ASMUBIP contributes to the preservation of babaçu through its political action. The lives of the workers and of the babaçu forests are therefore intricately intertwined. When Charles Taylor reflected about the background history-cultural of occidental modernity, he sets the hermeneutic task to do a rereading on the multiple facets of social modernity imaginaries. These imaginaries ended up being diversified in a plurality triadic and constitutive of multiple culture forms. In this way, how asserts the Canadian philosopher, there is a sphere of the modern social facet that is under the aegis of economy. Which is interlaced with the structural face of modernity as a public sphere. Finally, we have the Self-Government of the people in your nuclear aspect of democratic sovereignty. In this paper, we have the intention to follow the thought of Taylor, in your reconstruction of this pluralism type, that examines about sources, ideas and practices democratic articulated from these constitutive facets and articulator of modern social imaginaries.
The present article seeks to describe artistic practices that incorporate a feminist perspective in initial university formation and to reflect on how students make links between arts, teaching, and feminist thought as a contribution to their professional development and that of the students at school. For this, the learning experience of a group of students from the career of Pedagogy in Art Education, at Silva Henríquez Catholic University, is collected. During the Integral Workshop course, they carried out works of artistic creation with a feminist approach and linked their works with didactic activities involving gender and social transformation aspects in the classroom. We postulate that the transit between the artistic and the pedagogical fields that they study in the university formation allows the development of a political commitment as artists-educators. This commitment shows other ways of teaching arts in the classroom, where they demonstrate a feminist position of education and pedagogical relationships. These principles would bring us closer to teachings that make the artistic practice adopt a stand in favor of transformative experiences, which go beyond the school curriculum to open spaces for dialogue and understanding in school. Objective: Get to know the topics approached in national publications on women's sexual health and identify the
cultural and social aspects envisaged. Method: Descriptive-analytical bibliographic review made in the Virtual Health
Library database, using the following criteria: national publications from 2000 to 2011, full texts involving the female
population. Twelve publications were analyzed through an integrative literature review. Results: The interface
between women's sexual health and the cultural aspects is reflected on the behavior, attitudes and lifestyles. The
vulnerability to which women are exposed originate from several natures, represent several cultures and, sometimes,
are crystallized by ongoing Sexually Transmitted Diseases, unwanted pregnancy and violence. Conclusion: By updating
the knowledge on factors that interfere on the care of women's sexual health, it is evident that a less technical and
more emancipatory sexual health care approach is urgent.
