Książka stanowi tom studiów autorstwa polskich i zagranicznych językoznawców poświęcony zmianom we współczesnych językach słowiańskich, szczególnie widocznym w słownictwie i słowotwórstwie. Uwzględnienie aspektu stylowo-funkcjonalnego w rozwoju leksyki pozwala lepiej zrozumieć dynamikę zmian językowych i skuteczność działań komunikacyjnych. Celowościowy i pragmatyczny charakter zachowań komunikacyjnych ujawnia się szeroko w uwzględnionych przez Autorów kontekstach społecznych, politycznych i kulturowych. Prace zostały pogrupowane w trzy działy tematyczne: - Zjawiska, procesy i tendencje rozwojowe w słownictwie specjalistycznym (terminologii); - Dynamika mechanizmów słowotwórczych i leksykalnych; - Zmiany leksykalne we współczesnej komunikacji językowej i dyskursie. Wyodrębnione działy pomagają uporządkować przedstawioną w tomie problematykę, wskazując na dominantę tematyczną w poszczególnych tekstach. Zakresy tych grup nie są jednak ostre, złożona i wielowarstwowa problematyka tendencji i zmian we współczesnym słownictwie słowiańskim jest omawiana w różnym stopniu w każdym z wydzielonych działów. W większości prac zastosowano podejście konfrontatywne, pozostałe stanowią podstawę do takiego ujęcia. Do badań wykorzystany został bogaty materiał języków słowiańskich: polskiego, czeskiego, słowackiego, białoruskiego, rosyjskiego, ukraińskiego, bułgarskiego, słoweńskiego, a także innych języków, jak np. nowogreckiego. ; This volume of studies by Polish and international linguists is devoted to changes in modern Slavic languages, which are especially noticeable in the spheres of vocabulary and word formation. Taking into consideration the stylistic and functional aspect of lexis development allows for a better understanding of the dynamics of language change and the efficacy of communicational acts. The purposeful and pragmatic character of communicational behaviour manifests itself widely in the social, political and cultural contexts considered by the Authors. The works comprising the volume are divided into three thematic sections: - Phenomena, processes and tendencies in the development of specialist lexis (terminology); - Word formation and lexical mechanisms dynamics; - Lexical change in modern language communication and discourse. The sections help organize the volume by highlighting the dominant theme in particular texts. The scopes of the sections are, nevertheless, not sharply delineated – each section is to an equal extent devoted to the complex and multifaceted subject-matter of the tendencies and changes in modern Slavic vocabulary. Most of the works comprised in the volume adopt a contrastive approach, the remaining ones can serve as bases for contrastive studies. Das Buch unternimmt erstmals den Versuch, die sich potenzierende Dynamisierung gesellschaftlicher Verhältnisse, wie sie in der jüngsten politischen und digitalen Beschleunigungswelle etwa unter dem Stichwort "Globalisierung" firmiert, systematisch zu erfassen und sie in ihren kulturellen und strukturellen Ursachen ebenso wie in ihren Auswirkungen auf die individuelle und kollektive Lebensführung zu analysieren. Entwickelt wird dabei die These, daß die zunächst befreiende und befähigende Wirkung der modernen sozialen Beschleunigung, die mit den technischen Geschwindigkeitssteigerungen des Transports, der Kommunikation oder der Produktion zusammenhängt, in der Spätmoderne in ihr Gegenteil umzuschlagen droht. "Many of the women whose names are known to history from Classical Athens were metics or immigrants, linked in the literature with assumptions of being 'sexually exploitable.' Despite recent scholarship on women in Athens beyond notions of the 'citizen wife' and the 'common prostitute,' the scholarship on women, both citizen and foreign, is focused almost exclusively on women in the reproductive and sexual economy of the city. This book examines the position of metic women in Classical Athens, to understand the social and economic role of metic women in the city, beyond the sexual labor market. This book contributes to two important aspects of the history of life in 5th century Athens: it explores our knowledge of metics, a little-researched group, and contributes to the study if women in antiquity, which has traditionally divided women socially between citizen-wives and everyone else. This tradition has wrongly situated metic women, because they could not legally be wives, as some variety of whores. Author Rebecca Kennedy critiques the traditional approach to the study of women through an examination of primary literature on non-citizen women in the Classical period. She then constructs new approaches to the study of metic women in Classical Athens that fit the evidence and open up further paths for exploration. This article surveys the ouevre of the Icelandic writer Jakobína Sigurðardóttir (1918-1994) on the occasion of her centenary. Various aspects of her novels, short stories, poetry and memoirs are examined, including the ways in which she presents time in her texts – time as it pertains to individual life spans and the interaction of different generations, as well as time in the life of a nation which could be said to have switched abodes in the course of the 20th Century, moving from rural to urban settings, and during this time the island nation attained sovereignty and independence. narrative is a key element in treating time and historical shifts, and attention is paid to the ways in which Sigurðardóttir both renews realist traditions and resorts to more radical narrative forms, pulling the reader into an active dialogue on gender and generational issues, on social justice and equality, as well on the routes and conditions which connect and mould places of dwelling – individual houses as well as the abode of the nation.

Alors que la lutte contre la pauvreté constitue une préoccupation renouvelée de nos sociétés contemporaines depuis le début du XXIe s., cet ouvrage collectif propose d'explorer différents visages de la pauvreté en Grèce ancienne. L'approche retenue ne privilégie pas, contrairement à ce qui a souvent été fait jusqu'ici, la réaction des cités et des citoyens devant la pauvreté et ne se concentre pas sur la question de l'assistanat ni de la charité mais interroge, sous l'impulsion des apports de la sociologie récente, l'existence de pratiques de pauvres, susceptibles de définir un groupe social. La question de la visibilité et des enjeux de la pauvreté est aussi au cœur de nombreuses contributions, avec tout particulièrement les représentations iconographiques de la pauvreté. Sans prétendre à l'exhaustivité, ce volume cherche à poser les premiers jalons d'une étude plus générale de la pauvreté dans l'Antiquité, qui ne réduise pas exclusivement le phénomène à une histoire des conflits sociaux, ni à une étude des disparités économiques, mais s'applique à revenir aux pauvres mêmes. = While the fight against poverty is a renewed concern in our contemporary society since the beginning of the XXIst century, this collective work aims to explore different aspects of poverty in Ancient Greece. The approach does not emphasize the response of cities and citizens to poverty and does not focus on the issue of the assistantship or charity unlike what has often been done so far. It rather questions thanks to the contributions of the recent sociology, the existence of poor pratice, likely to define a social group. The question of visibility and issues of poverty is at the heart of many papers, especially with the iconographic representations of poverty. Without claiming to be exhaustive, this volume aims to lay the groundwork for a more general study of poverty in Antiquity that will not only reduces the phenomenon to a history of social conflicts, or consideration of economic disparities but applies to focus on the poor themselves
