There is increasing evidence that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is emerging as a management issue within Chinese business (Moon and Shen 2010; Yin and Zhang 2012). The main drivers of this movement, which are commonly discussed, include domestic political will and international pressure. However, what is less understood is the nature of the shaping of CSR. As a concept, CSR has been widely interpreted as the way companies take into account interests of a broader range of stakeholders beyond owners and shareholders of the firm. Hence, it is about the way firms develop policies and practices to minimize the negative impacts and even increase the positive impacts of their business practices on various stakeholder groups. The definition of social responsibility has often changed over the time. Differences in the economies of the United States of America (USA) and Europe have a strong impact on the social responsibility and stakeholders' expectations from socially responsible business (SRB). The economic sector of the USA makes a significant contribution to addressing social and development initiatives in the local community, while in European countries there is an expectation that the state will meet such needs. The globalization processes transfer American corporate culture all around the world, as well as the engagement in solving social problems in the communities in which they operate. The economic model of social responsibility puts the profit motivation into the first place and emphasizes that it is the most effective tool for solving the world problems. The new circumstances in which businesses operate and the fact that information are available always and everywhere have a strong influence on the evolution of the social responsibility model from the economic to the socio-economic model. The role of business is not just to make profit, but also to cooperate between companies and society, and a balanced benefit for all stakeholders. This work consists of three parts. The introduction describes a traditional and new approach to social responsibility and benefits for companies that operate under the principles of social responsibility. The second chapter outlines European Union (EU) guidelines on SRB while concluding remarks synthesize the benefits of social responsibility in modern business as well as the critiques of the model. The article presents a theoretical review of state regulation of corporate social responsibility in China. The basic legislative acts regulating this sphere are defined. Obligatory social reporting for state-owned enterprises is indicated. It was noted that an important area of regulation of social responsibility of business by the state is the environment, due to the high level of pollution and industrial character of the country's economy. The directions for the development of Ukrainian socio-economic responsibility of entrepreneurship based on China's experience are determined. ; В статье представлен теоретический обзор государственного регулирования социальной ответственности бизнеса в Китае. Выбор страны для исследования обоснован успешностью проводимых в ней экономических реформ, актуальностью инструмента корпоративной социальной ответственности для улучшения экологической обстановки в стране, а также для дополнительного контроля негосударственного сектора экономики.Определены основные законодательные акты, регулирующие эту сферу. Указана обязательность социальной отчетности для государственных предприятий. Отмечено, что важной сферой регулирования социальной ответственности бизнеса со стороны государства является охрана окружающей среды из-за большого уровня загрязнения и промышленного характера экономики страны. Определены направления для развития украинской социально-экономической ответственности предпринимательства, основанные на опыте Китая. В частности, это законодательное внедрение обязательной социальной отчетности для предпринимателей, а также совершенствование законодательной базы в области охраны окружающей среды путем повышения стандартов производства. ; У статті представлено теоретичний огляд державного регулювання соціальної відповідальності бізнесу в Китаї.
