Corporate social responsibility in Georgia is a very disputable phenomenon, mostly because of the tribal character of the region's politi-cal transformation. Business elites do not cooperate with society, but place themselves above it. Exception from this general rule may be made of situations when they strive for political legitimacy (B. Iwaniszwili). Nowadays business in Georgia is not interested in developing corporate social responsibility. Georgian businessman perceive it more as a significant expense than an investment. Public authorities are deprived of sufficient control over private business sector to force the implementa-tion of riles of corporate responsibility. Georgia is devoid of an essential fundament for corporate respon-sibility – civil society. Economy is treated there as a system of inexhaust-ible resources [4: 343], which may be endlessly exploited, while giving at the same time nothing in return. The treatment of society and democracy by business elites is highly instrumental [8: 160]. Thus "the interests of the ruling elites constitute a point of reference to the already realized or still wanted paradigms of modernization, and not the other way" [8: 192]. Business elites and society function in the environment impressionable by tribalism and clan politics, which influences the effects of transformation processes, inter alia: non-market distribution of assets, quasi-militarization of economic relations and tendency to sustain monopolies at any cost [32: 4]. Business in Georgia is taking advantage of the regression caused by the economic transformation. It builds its own position against a background of such transformation. Thus the reduction of unemploy-ment, preventing further collapse of the agricultural sector and providing political stability are simply unprofitable. Araştırmanın amacına ulaşmak için GLOBE Projesi ile Ulusal Kurumsal Sosyal Sorumluluk Endeksinde yer alan altmış iki ülkeye ait veriler kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde IBM SPSS 22.0 programından faydalanılmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri sonucunda ulusal kültür boyutları ile ulusal kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk çalışmaları arasında bir ilişki olduğu ve ulusal kültürün KSS çalışmalarını etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Ulusal kültürün alt boyutlarından belirsizlikten kaçınma, girişkenlik, gelecek odaklılık ve kolektivizm II değişkenlerinin Ulusal Kurumsal Sosyal Sorumluluk üzerinde önemli (anlamlı) bir yordayıcı etkisi olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. There are win win opportunities for big businesses and policy-makers as they nurture human capital with the right knowledge, skills and competences. A thorough literature review suggests that there is a rationale for corporations to collaborate with national governments and other stakeholders in the provision of education and training. In addition, this paper presents qualitative case studies of numerous exemplary firms that have distinguished themselves for their responsible behaviours, particularly towards their human resources and prospective employees. The findings indicate that there is scope for businesses to engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives through the provision of educational programmes and continuous professional training and development of workers. Very often, these businesses' underlying objective is to improve their employees' competences, whilst minimising the skill gaps and mismatches in the labour market. In conclusion, this inquiry posits that CSR and stakeholder engagement could boost the employees' morale and job satisfaction, which may in turn lead to lower staff turnover rates and greater productivity levels in workplace environments. It implies that there is potential for the organisational cultures and their business ethos to become more attuned with the governments' educational policies; in order to better respond to the diverse needs of today's learners and tomorrow's human resources. ; peer-reviewed
