Le storytelling en communication narrative n'est pas l'art du récit. C'est une technique fondée sur un usage stratégique instrumentalisé du récit. Une technique qui s'est développée dans le monde du business outre atlantique il y a 25 ans, avant de s'étendre à la politique et au discours médiatique en général. Le principe de l'anglicisme storytelling est le détournement de la narration et de fait, il marque bien la différence avec l'art du récit, en produisant ni plus ni moins du contre-récit.Dans les domaines politiques et médiatiques l'art du récit est devenu le mode de manipulation par excellence des foules, orchestré par le «spin doctors» qui contrôlent l'information au sein des médias en s'adressant directement aux électeurs et en fabriquant l'opinion. Lestorytellingest destiné aussi àdes consommateurs en manque de repères. Les milieux du management ont saisi cette discipline pour imposer l'art du récit comme mode de communication de l'économie de marché et du monde du travail. ; Storytelling in narrative communication is not the art of storytelling. It is a technique based on an instrumentalized strategic use of the story. A technique that developed in the business world across the Atlantic 25 years ago, before spreading to politics and media discourse in general. The principle of storytelling anglicism is the diversion of narration and in fact, it clearly marks the difference with the art of storytelling, by producing neither more nor less of the counter-narrative. In the political and media fields, the art of storytelling has become the mode of manipulation par excellence for crowds, orchestrated by the "spin doctors" who control information within the media by addressing voters directly and by fabricating opinion. Storytelling is also intended for consumers lacking benchmarks. Kommunikation leistet mehr als "Sachinformation": Publika knüpfen Zusammenhänge, wenn sie wahrnehmen, beurteilen, bewerten und vermitteln. Diese Sinnproduktion heisst Public Storytelling. In letzter Zeit war Prävention in der Schweiz eine "institutionelle Politikgeschichte". Sie muss zu einer Schweizer Erfolgsgeschichte werden. Solche Strategien entstehen in organisierten mehrstufigen Entwicklungsprozessen.

This document presents the first release of the project's storytelling framework, which is composed by two assets. The purpose of this framework is to facilitate the use of interactive storytelling for the development of applied games. More precisely, the framework is meant to aid developers in the creation of game scenarios where both players and autonomous characters are playing an active role in a narrative that unfolds according to their actions. The document describes the current state for the assets that are part of this framework, also providing links to the source code of the assets as well as associated demonstrations and documentation. The primary audience for the contents of this deliverable are the game developers that will use the proposed framework in their development process. This work explores activism through new media by applying narrative power analysis and story-based strategies for social change. From an interdisciplinary and internationally discussed theoretical and methodological framework based on peace research, communication theories and cultural studies, this paper aims at gathering a series of criteria to critically analyze and assess the new media politics of social movements. Specifically, it reviews a selection of present day activist discourses to propose a communication model defined from culturally effective practices aimed at peace cultures, cultural wisdom and empowerment for conflict transformation. This analysis elaborates on previous empirical research (Pinazo and Nos Aldás, 2013) which tested protest communication scenarios as the more adequate to boost social justice, engagement and empowerment. This text therefore takes as a case study some good practices of transmedia storytelling for social change and, through discourse framing analysis, it develops on how activist empowering frames, values and emotions of social change for social justice are an effective cultural alternative to hegemonic negative frames. All in all, this paper intends to further advance conclusions on new media politics for social justice from the experience of new social movements communicative scenarios of social empowerment through transmedia storytelling.

As a central strand of the 4th International Visual Methods Conference (IVM4 took place in Brighton 2015 with a focus on critical approaches, narrative and visual research methods), Digital Storytelling was represented as a model of participatory research with significant potential for emancipatory impact. Joe Lambert founder and Executive Director of the Story Center (formerly Centre for Digital Storytelling) gave a keynote presentation; there were also a significant number of parallel presentations that reported research from digital storytelling practices. Many of these drew on the methods proposed by the Story Center which position this practice as socially transformative. However, the ways in which this vein of digital storytelling is couched within Freire's Hegelian teleology generates a range of ethical problems. Freirean approaches rest on a humanist notion of the dialectic of recognition and when translated to the level of the collective, this ends in a problematic model of collective identity, which is ultimately exclusionary and particularistic. More recent thinking on the commons by Italian theorists (Esposito, 2010; Hardt and Negri, 2011; Agamben, 1993) continues the struggle for liberation but sidesteps these problems through a rethinking on how the commons is formulated. Read in conjunction with Rancière's aesthetic politics these ideas offer alternative possibilities for participation by artists interested in emancipation and resistance.

The MFA in Writing program's Digital Storytelling course, taught in spring 2016 by Faith Adiele, brought together graduate writers, artists and makers to hone their narrative skills and develop their own digital projects. The Bay Area is the center of electronic and digital literature (literary work created exclusively on and for devices with screens) and storytelling, but while the dazzling technologies may be new, interactive storytelling is one of the earliest forms of human interaction. We explored e-lit's antecedents and traditions, ranging from non-Western traditions like the griot, talk-story, and testimonio, to the democratized oral history movement of the 1970s; from the physicality of Book Arts to platforms and networks that offer open-source, global activist alternatives to pricey technology. The course was open to all grad students and had participants from Architecture and Design MBA. They received training from Yosmay del Mazo of StoryCorps, Thaddeus Howze of Quora, Chieh-Ju Pai in the Film Dept, with additional support and training by digital scholarship librarian Lisa Conrad. This was an attempt for writers/artists/makers to speak a shared language across the college, and heralds the beginning of further college-wide collaborations.

Curso 2015-2016. ; El siguiente trabajo explora la aplicación de la técnica del storytelling por parte de Podemos en las elecciones generales de 2015, con el objetivo de determinar cuáles fueron los relatos empleados y qué componentes fueron utilizados en ellos para que fueran exitosos entre el electorado. Para ello, se han revisado los spots de Podemos y los diversos actos en los que miembros del partido han participado entre el 28 de octubre de 2015 (momento en el que se presentó el equipo de campaña) y el 20 de diciembre de 2015 (fecha en la que se celebraron las elecciones), atendiendo no sólo a los componentes que estructuran un relato, sino también a las influencias teóricas en la comunicación de Podemos. Tras este estudio, se llega a la conclusión de que , de entre todos los relatos empleados, aquellos que buscaban la conexión con el electorado a través una interpretación acertada de sus demandas y el uso apropiado de las emociones, fueron fundamentales a la hora de desarrollar la técnica del storytelling por parte de Podemos en este periodo. ; O seguinte traballo explora a aplicación da técnica do storytelling por parte de Podemos nas eleccións xerais de 2015, co obxectivo de determinar cales foron os relatos empregados e que elementos foron utilizados neles para que fosen exitosos entre o electorado. Para iso revisáronse os anuncios de Podemos e os diversos actos nos que membros do partido participaron entre o 28 de outubro de 2015 (momento no que se presentou o equipo de campaña) e o 20 de decembro de 2015 (data na que se celebraron as eleccións), atendendo non só aos compoñentes que estruturan un relato, senón tamén ás influencias teóricas na comunicación de Podemos.
