Present situation in education makes us review the teacher's role, especially in the context of the ongoing educational reform. For the sake of objectivity it should be mentioned that not all the accusations of the authors of the reform directed towards the teachers of the Soviet period are adequate. The article deals with the problem of professional traits of the teacher, reviews the outlooks of different philosophical trends towards the teachers profession. In the globalization process, integration of Lithuanian educational system into the European Union educational space enhances many requirements for schools leaders and teachers. Today's school is in need of high competence teachers and tutors. They not only have to be competent, to have deep professional knowledge and skills, but also keep improving their own professional qualification. Teachers have to be able to influence changes to existing processes of schools operations. Taking in consideration these facts, the problem of this research arises – the traditional role of a teacher is no longer suitable for multifunctional education of nowadays society. The object of the research – ever-changing roles of the teacher in nowadays society. The aim of the research – to analyze the new roles of the teacher and their fluctuation of peculiarities. The targets for the research: 1. To analyze the historical evolution of teachers role. 2. To specify the influence of teachers role in the fluctuation of educational processes. 3. To find out the point of views of teachers on their own most important roles in nowadays society. Focus of the research: 150 teachers from the four school of basic education located in capital of Lithuania. The methods of research: theoretical analysis of historical documents and publications, the anonymous questionnaire, the statistic analysis of the data based on SPSS13. After the completion of the empiric research, the original hypothesis that teachers are accepting all roles from the theoretical approach was proven to be correct. The negative factors off teacher roles among the examinees were listed the following: the teacher working with the group of pupils regardless the individual needs, the inability to constructively solve the problems and while solving problems not taking into consideration parental opinion. The traditional roles of teacher as subject tutor and class educator gained new activity prospective. The most emphasized roles are: an innovator, a consultant, a motivator, an explorer, a stimulator and witness of change, a social worker and a collaborating colleague. Most recent roles of teacher are manager of the educational process and the creator of alternatives.

With assessment of teachers workload and considering the demographic processes in regions of the country (children's birth rate, the number of students in classrooms, teachers' age) it is projected demand for teachers in the municipalities of the country from 2017 to 2028. The thesis uses data from the register of teachers, Department of statistics and Educational Center of Information Technologies databases. The moving average model were used for processing the data, assessed the real and notional number of teachers, defined and calculated the current and expected size of medium wage and teachers employment rate. In analysis of the forecast the data were interpreted in the context of local government, took account to the existing laws of education in Lithuania, education programs and the expected reform of teacher training. The study aims to find out what importance of demographic processes, change in the number of students, the number of teachers held in different municipalities of the country has to the demand for teachers. It is predicted that in the country's major cities (Vilnius, Klaipėda, Kaunas) the number of students will grow so in the near future will face a shortage of chemistry, physics, english, russian, Lithuanian language teachers. Because of the rapid decline in the number of students, teacher's workload will decrease in the municipalities of Biržai, Pakruojis, and Kupiškis.

The need for professionally working adult teachers in current years is growing very rapidly not only due to European Union policy in adult education and economical and social development of the country, but also due to coming huge investments into human resources through European structural funds in the country. The dissertation is seeking for such answers: what kind of adult teachers' abilities are essential for their profession; what is the most effective way in development of those abilities. In the development of the set of abilities for andragog practitioner there was made both profound analysis of andragogical theories and professional requirements for adult teachers. The set of abilities was divided into general and special abilities groups. The dissertation examines various professional development forms. The structures for optimal developmental programs are discussed also. The model, based upon the pre-set abilities of andragog practitioner, for non-formal adult teachers learning, which covers self-assessment of abilities, non-formal learning module, practice and assessment is developed. Empirical research shows how were developed adult teachers abilities due to their participation in the model's activities. There is discussed influence of non-formal adult teacher model for professionalization of adult teachers'; conclusions and recommendations for further development of the model is presented.

Paper analyzes theoretical aspects of teachers' education: content of qualifying category is given, comparing of new and old teachers certification system is discusses, competency and its meaning for teacher's education is also presented. Legislative of teachers' education is presented as well as institutional structure and its implication on the educational process. New Communication from the commission to the council and the European parliament "Improving the quality of teacher education" brought on 2007-08-03 is pointed out. Also teachers' educational systems in ES are presented. Practical research pointed out that education is being handled as being very important part of profession by teachers; main information about education is released from school administration or colleagues; bigger part of teachers pointed out that self-education is not being used very often; teachers feels lack of possibilities to raise their qualification in foreign countries; among all of the respondents negative approach onto refresher courses preponderated.

The theme of the paper – "Relationship of Pupils, Teachers and Parents: Prevention of Conflicts\". Education, the system of education, the caseload of work and so on has always been one of the most important themes for the society. The background is always relevant and underlying for the state's politics. Conflicts appear constantly in our society that's why it is important to control conflicts and especially in educational institutions in order to prevent the degradation of teaching level. The most important aims of the education are: to help the person to reveal common values and to ground ones life by them; to educate critically thinking person who is able to understand the fundamental and existential questions of life, to make responsible decisions and act alone; to educate the person who is ready for professional activity and able to adapt himself or herself to the changing social and economical life as well as to accomplish it; to mature person's national and cultural consciousness; to mature the person for democratic; to educate the Citizen of Lithuania what is possible only while working in a harmonious and constantly working team. Because the conflicts appear in every sphere of human life it is important to be able to control them. without any control they might destroy whatever is possible and what was achieved or created by the person. The rise of the conflict is determined by the objective or subjective facts while ignoring the conflict situation and the communication might be impossible. The conflict might lead some personal and social life changes. The aim of the paper - to make research of the relationship between pupils, teachers and parents, to find out the possibilities of conflict prevention. The six hypotheses were upraised. The first hypothesis that the understanding of parents' conflict differs from that of teachers and pupils was proved. The second hypothesis that conflicts between pupils more often appear in emotional sphere was proved. The third hypothesis that in the opinion of parents and teachers the conflicts between teachers and pupils are initiated by conflictive pupils though in the opinion of teachers which is contrariwise to pupils and parents opinion that the declaration of such conflicts is the effective means of problem solution was proved. The fourth hypothesis that the conflicts between pupils and teachers should be solved by the chief, administration or teachers themselves was proved. The fifth hypothesis that the reason of conflicts between parents and teachers is the education of children was proved. The sixth hypothesis that thus the majority of all groups of respondents estimate the role of a special pedagogue as very important while solving various conflicts in the educational institutions and do not estimate enough his or her aims of activity was proved.
