In: Griot: Revista de Filosofia, Band 21, Heft 1, S. 180-194
Gaston Bachelard (1884-1962), French philosopher, followed a period of ruptures, that is, of conceptual and methodological changes in contemporary physics. He is one of several thinkers who presented important reflections for the understanding of contemporary atomistics. This article highlights the main philosophical reflections of Gaston Bachelard about the foundations of quantum mechanics. For that, it uses important concepts of its epistemology without which its ideas become incomprehensible. Thus, this work highlights how this science breaks with traditional scientific and philosophical ideas in the first half of the 20th century by presenting a new object of knowledge, namely, the quantum corpuscles. Furthermore, in order to characterize the philosophy of bachelardian quantum physics, according to the author, the nature of atomic particles stands out, as the scientific activity of this science in the creation of new phenomena is emphasized and its rationalism applied as philosophy is emphasized best suited to the new physics. Finally, it is emphasized in this work that Bachelard's ideas are different from other interpretations of quantum mechanics.

In: ETD - Educação Temática Digital, Band 15, Heft 1, S. 87-106
The Internet nowadays is a significant source of information, being important the construction of
educational sites resulting from scientific research to foster pedagogical reflections. It is also important to
support possibilities of relations between transversal themes, big problems of society that must be
contextualized in school, in educational practice. In Physical Education, capoeira, part of the movement body
culture, should also be addressed during the pedagogical practice. We evaluated a blog developed to address the
Transversal Themes and Capoeira, taking into consideration the opinions of 23 teacher participants (12 women
and 11 men, mean age 30 years). We opted for qualitative research and analysis of content from a questionnaire
developed to evaluate the blog. The analysis was divided into two categories: presentation of the educational
blog developed and analysis of results from the evaluation of participants, this category being divided into three
subcategories: opinions about the design and configuration of the blog, interest and motivation; considerations
about the transversal themes. The results were positive in terms of consistency, language, appropriateness of content to the topic and audience, visualization, reliability and conceptual rigor of the blog. All participants said
they could use the content proposed in the blog for the development of their classes. From these results, it is
considered that the blog can become a virtual educational material, assisting teachers in the teaching-learning
process, helping the didactic process in Physical Education classes.

In: Griot: Revista de Filosofia, Band 18, Heft 2, S. 143-160
In his last book (2008), Bas van Fraassen, the originator of constructive empiricism, put forward a table containing a categorization of images. His aim, however, was to discuss the reality of what they represent and not addressing the issue of images per se. One of the consequences is that it remained an open question what 'public hallucinations' - reflections in the water, rainbows and the like - are. In this paper it will be defended that only images in the relevant (representational) sense should be considered as such. For this and other reasons, van Fraassen's diagram should be amended. Moreover, as Physics teaches us, the class of the so-called 'images' that are actually objects is wider than van Fraassen reckons. The set of the observable objects do not contain only concrete things, but goes beyond what 'common sense realism' suggests. In addition to rocks, oceans and bycycles, we can also see rainbows, reflections in the water and the like.

Concept note on the theme of the year: "refugees, returnees and internally displaced persons: towards durable solutions to forced displacement in Africa
In: https://archives.au.int/handle/123456789/6497
Executive council Thirty-Fourth Ordinary Session 07 - 08 February 2019 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ; In the framework of the long-term vision encapsulated in Agenda 2063 the African Union's (AU) Assembly of Heads of State and Government adopted a Common African Position on Humanitarian Effectiveness (CAP) and called for a ten year period of transformation to strengthen humanitarian action on the continent (Decision 604 (XXVI)). The CAP defines Africa's new humanitarian architecture, which includes the creation of the African Humanitarian Agency as a vehicle for Africa's humanitarian action. The new humanitarian architecture also emphasizes addressing root causes and achieving durable solutions, as well as bolstering the capacity of States and other stakeholders to tackle the challenges of forced displacement on the continent

Translation policies: a theme of linguistic policies?
In this essay, it is assumed the lack of articulation between translation policies and linguistic policies makes some initiatives conducted in our country invisible. The purpose of this essay is to present and briefly dialogue with different elements that traverse translation and interpretative processes and which constitute topics of interest for translation policies. For this reflection, the contributions of Baker (2006a, 2006b), Tymoczko (2007) and Panda (2013) are presented, with discussions on translation and interpretation, their roles and the policies adopted by different governments. From this debate, an articulated dialogue between translation policies and language policies is suggested. We consider this connection can be a pathway to understand that any action around the language, whether economic, social, cultural or linguistic, generates translation effects. "Them", Venezuelans, and the crisis in Venezuela: discursive practices in the magazine Veja ; "Eles", venezuelanos, e a crise na Venezuela: práticas discursivas na revista Veja
; This paper analyses the feature article "Fuga de uma ditadura: a saga dos venezuelanos no Brasil" (Flight from a dictatorship: the saga of Venezuelans in Brazil), by Jennifer Ann Thomas, published by the Brazilian magazine Veja in 2019. The subject of the article is refugees and the crisis in Venezuela. This paper identifies the discursive structures used tin the article to represent "others", in this case, Venezuelan immigrants. Analysis is also made of linguistic expressions, which symbolise and produce differences between "us" (Brazil and Brazilians) and "them" (the other – Venezuela and its citizens). The paper concludes that the discourse about the "other", which in Veja's article also includes statistics and quotes sources close to the government, only states that which is appropriate for the magazine's audiences to know, i.e. their readers. In summary, analysis of the article published by Veja magazine allows us to conclude that it reproduces the hegemonic discourse about "the other" – a reductionist, conservative and nationalist discourse. The theoretical reference underpinning this paper's semiological orientation is Social Semiotics (Martins, 2002/2017), a discipline of Social and Human Sciences, whose main concern is to establish the conditions that govern the social possibility of meaning and that, in semantic and pragmatic terms, leads to the explanatory and comprehensive interpretation of discourses. On the other hand, since this paper aims to understand social construction processes of the other, i.e. understand the social construction processes of identities, it is inspired by the intellectual current known in Europe as the "philosophy of difference" (Descombes, 1998; Foucault, 1966; Levinas, 2002; Martins, 2019; Ricoeur, 1991).
