El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el giro que da la Modernidad en la teoría política respecto de principios considerados como fundamentales en la filosofía de las épocas precedentes –las del mundo antiguo y medieval–. El método seguido es el comentario y la comparación de algunos textos de Platón, Aristóteles, San Agustín, Santo Tomás, Maquiavelo y Hobbes, todos ellos altamente significativos para la teoría política. La conclusión a la que se llega es que, mientras el mundo antiguo y el medieval contaban con teorías políticas capaces de medir la praxis política en relación con la Justicia y el bien común, el giro hacia el sujeto que supone la Modernidad lleva a teorías –y prácticas– políticas que entienden el poder como un fin en sí mismo –lo cual genera una pérdida de libertad real en los hombres concretos–. ; The purpose of this article is to analize the shift that the Modern Age has made in Political Theory, regarding principles considered as essential in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy. The methodology followed here is a commentary and a comparison of several texts by Plato, Aristotle, Saint Augustine, Saint Thomas, Machiavelli and Hobbes, all of which are highly significant with regard to Political Theory. The conclusion is that, while the Ancient and Medieval World designed Political Theories that were able to measure political practices in relation to Justice and Common Good, the shift towards the human subject that is implied in the Modern Age leads to Political Theories –and practices– that understand power as a goal in itself –and this diminishes real freedom for real men. ; peerReviewed

Gegenstand des vorliegenden Beitrags ist die Beschreibung qualitativer Methodologien im öffentlichen Gesundheitswesen, genauer: im Bereich seelischer Gesundheit, wie sie in der medizinischen Fakultät der Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México zum Einsatz kommen. Wir skizzieren hierzu zunächst unsere Lehrerfahrungen (Master- und Doktorarbeiten), um hiervon ausgehend zum einen die Schwierigkeiten zu diskutieren, die Lehrende und Studierende erfahren, wenn sie qualitative Ansätze praktisch im Bereich des Gesundheitswesens einsetzen wollen, und zum anderen die Präferenzen für spezifische Themen auf Seiten der Studierenden näher darzustellen. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Erfahrungen kommen wir zu dem Schluss, dass die wesentlichste Herausforderung darin besteht, qualitative Forschung niveauvoll und methodisch elaboriert zu betreiben, um sie als akzeptierten Forschungsansatz in diesem Themenfeld etablieren zu können.

The British General Election of 2010 raised high expectations due to the social and political situation of the country, both externally and internally alike: the global economic crisis, the troops in Afghanistan, the anticipation of a political landslide with the accession of the Liberal Democrats to power. However, it seems apparent that the parties involved did not live up to them in terms of political debate and engagement with the issues. This article sets out to explore the discourses of the manifestos published by the three main parties, with a view to identifying differences in their means of relating to the electorate, and tracing their discursive construction of key issues.

This article aims to critically assess John Dewey's ideal of "democracy as a way of life", an evocative though elusive moral and political ideal linked to both his communal notion of democracy and his reformist view of liberalism. Beyond the school, where citizenship education begins, Dewey claims that individuals learn democratic habits when they associate and participate in political activities, which are not solely confined to political institutions. Exploring Dewey's democratic theory invites a twofold account. It takes to contextualize Dewey's views in light of the political debates of his time, in particular the interwar debates on the crisis of liberalism and democracy. And it takes to examine his democratic thought in terms of educational theory and policy. Both aspects integrate into the argument.

The article discusses the definition and correlation of the concepts of "conflict" and "competence" and provides various expert opinions on this. In the methodology it is an analytical research based on documentary. In modern scientific literature, the clash of the rules of criminal law is called conflict of laws, using the definitions indicated as identical concepts. However, the authors point to the controversial nature of such an interpretation of those concepts. The causes of conflicts in the rules of Russian law are analyzed. Thereis also a detailed analysis of conflicts in the rules of domestic criminal law and criminal executive law. In the context of the topic studied, the authors refer to the categories of criminal law and criminal executive law as the principles of criminal law. It emphasizes by way of conclusion that the conflicts identified are not an exhaustive list, simply the authors of this work managed to consider only some aspects of the subject, therefore the conclusions and suggestions are not indisputable. In any case, the discussion of these issues is important to achieve coherence in the rules of criminal law and criminal executive law.

Resumen: Este artículo examina la manera en que la metafi cción postmoderna de Carol Shields en The Stone Diaries sirve de punto de partida para una crítica feminista desde la que se explora el carácter relacional y fragmentario del sujeto femenino. Aunque la crítica haya incidido en la vertiente feminista de la novela de Carol Shields The Stone Diaries, el papel que juega el postmodernismo en la crítica feminista ha pasado desapercibido. El objetivo de este artículo es, por tanto, ahondar en la manera en que el feminismo se intercala con el postmodernismo en la obra de Shields. A lo largo de este trabajoo se demostrará cómo la confl uencia entre la condición postmoderna y la construcción de la subjetividad de la protagonista proporciona a la obra una función política. ; Abstract: This article examines the way in which postmodern metafi ction in Carol Shields?s The Stone Diaries can be understood as a starting point to explore the relational and fragmentary subjectivity from a feminist standpoint. Although most analysis on The Stone Diaries put an emphasis on the importance of feminism, the infl uence of postmodernism in Shields?s novel has been commonly overlooked. This article aims to delve into the interaction between feminism and postmodernism in order to demonstrate how this interplay provides the novel with a political function.

The article is devoted to the scientific analysis of the implementation of security measures of participants of criminal proceedings in the mechanism of prevention of criminal offences against them. It was concluded that an important component of effective prevention of criminal offenses committed against participants of criminal proceedings is the creation of a system to ensure their safety by applying international legal norms of the interdisciplinary institute specified in the national criminal legislation. The specified task can be achieved in the case of: introduction of specific programs for the protection of participants in criminal proceedings (creating a simplified mechanism for choosing and applying short-term security measures and, a detailed mechanism for long-term measures; defining criteria for danger assessment by individualizing the needs of a person in the application of security measures, or a combination of more effective tools developing approaches to the duration of security measures based on the interests of justice and the existence of threats to the person); creation of a special unit to ensure the safety of participants in criminal proceedings, separate from the investigative bodies.

Gegenwärtig ist in vielen Industrieländern eine Zunahme riskanter Sexualpraktiken von Männern in Gelegenheitsbeziehungen mit anderen Männern erkennbar. Für die hier berichtete Studie wurden 20 Männer zwischen 18 und 40 Jahren interviewt, die innerhalb von drei Monaten mindestens einmal ungeschützten Analverkehr mit anderen Männern hatten. Ein wesentliches Ergebnis ist, dass viele Befragte, die über Analverkehr in Gelegenheitsbeziehungen berichteten, an Erfahrungen interessiert waren, die nicht unmittelbar die sexuelle Ebene tangierten. Wesentlich war vielmehr der Wunsch nach Bestätigung des eigenen Wertes und der eigenen physischen Attraktivität, der Wunsch, eigenen Defiziten oder erlebter Einsamkeit zu entkommen, die Suche nach Verbundenheit und Intimität, Verliebtheit oder die Tendenz, das Risiko als Vergnügen am Verbotenen umzudefinieren und gegen etablierte Strukturen zu rebellieren. – In all diesen Fällen wurde die Sorge um die eigene Gesundheit und Unversehrtheit während des ungeschützten Analverkehrs ausgeblendet. Deshalb ist es unbedingt erforderlich, dass HIV- und Aids-Präventionsprogramme auch diese Motivlagen künftig mehr beachten.

El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido determinar las características de la evolución y desarrollo actual de los temas transversales en educación, considerándolos básicamente como importantes cuestiones de carácter social, fuertemente influyentes en la formación global del alumno. De manera específica, se trata de clarificar el nivel de preparación y dedicación del profesorado y los centros escolares para la enseñanza de los mismos. Para ello se han analizado disposiciones legislativas en nuestro país (leyes orgánicas y decretos de currículo), así como aportaciones de destacados pedagogos, instituciones e investigadores. Se han analizado las características de los temas transversales en el proyecto educativo y en la programación docente, en su desarrollo en el aula y en su proyección fuera de la misma, a través de la colaboración de la familia y la comunidad. A partir del análisis realizado se derivan conclusiones sobre su estado actual (posibilidades y límites) y se realizan propuestas de futuro relativas a la mejora de la formación inicial y permanente del profesorado, al incremento de sus tareas colegiadas/ cooperativas en la planificación, intervención y evaluación, al incremento de medios y del asesoramiento en su utilización y a la necesidad de mejorar la comunicación y colaboración con las familias y con otras instituciones de la comunidad ; The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of the evolution and current development of transversal themes in education, considering them basically as important social cuestions with great influence in the overall education of the student. Los estudios del trabajo constituyen un campo disciplinar consolidado dentro de las ciencias sociales. Sus problemáticas pueden rastrearse en los autores clásicos, poseen una rica tradición teórica-empírica y han logrado cristalizar su presencia en varias instituciones científicas. Las temáticas y perspectivas estuvieron incididas por el contexto de producción ?asociado fuertemente a los problemas políticos y socioeconómicos- y por la preeminencia de determinadas teorías que con su andamiaje conceptual permitieron colocar el foco de atención en procesos sociales menos estudiados. Los cambios en las últimas décadas fueron particularmente significativos para este campo disciplinar en cuanto su ?objeto de estudio? estuvo en el centro de muchas de las transformaciones sociales orientadas a: erosionar o recuperar parte de las conquistas laborales; adecuar lógicas de articulación política, trasvasamiento y recomposición de las/os sujetos trabajadoras/es y sus colectivos; o segmentar el mercado de trabajo. En vista de este recorte disciplinar, el artículo se propone señalar las temáticas y problemas recurrentes en la sociología del trabajo de los últimos años para, a partir de esta descripción, delinear recorridos posibles y áreas vacantes quepermitan definir agendas científicas que contribuyan a la comprensión de los desafíos que se avecinan. Con este objetivo se tomó como fuente documental los congresos y revistas de la Asociación Argentina de Especialistas en Estudios del Trabajo que viene desarrollando de manera ininterrumpida actividades desde 1992. En particular, y para proyectar lo acaecido recientemente, se relevó información entre 2001-2015. ; Labour studies is a consolidated field of analysis in social sciences. Its central issues can be traced to classic authors, it has a rich theoretical-empirical tradition and it has managed to insert itself in various scientific institutions. The emphasis in the themes and perspectives of study has been influenced by the context of production —strongly associated with political and socioeconomic problems— and the preeminence of theories that placed the focus of attention on social processes that had not been fully explored till then. During the last decades the field underwent significant changes with regards to its "object of study", since this was in the midst of several social transformations. These transformations included: the erosion and recovery of labour rights, the reorientation of political relations, the revitalization of workers' collective organizations, the segmentation of labour markets. Considering these items, the article intends to address recurring themes and issues in labour studies during the recent years. The debate highlights the areas most debated and also the issues that remain unexplored, therefore open for future research agendas. The paper is based on an analysis of the Argentine Labour Studies Association's congresses and publications, which have been published uninterruptedly since 1992.
