INTRODUCTION: With the word homophobia or homonegativity we mean the disease, the devaluation and the hostility for the homosexuals men or women. The researches say high levels of homophobia are correlated with the belief that homosexuality is against nature (Frost, 2010; Lingiardi, 2007). This thought may induce people to act with aggressively against LG population. METHOD: The aims of our research are: first contribute to the validation of the homophobia scales and second to compare the level of homophobia in a sample of university students. Participants: Our sample was of 300 students (M = 22.82, SD = 2.83; min = 19, max = 42, Measures: An Identifying Information Form was used to collect demographic information and the Italian scale, SIMO-G and SIMO-L (Lingiardi, 2005; Lingiardi et al. in press), to evaluate the level of homophobia. CONCLUSIONS: The results show an association between religion education, politics and level of social homophobia.
Questo contributo individua le specificità Scuola di Architettura, Pianificazione e Paesaggio dell'Università di Newcastle. Caratterizzata da un corpo docente molto eterogeneo e da competenze in tutta la disciplina, la Scuola sostiene fortemente l'idea di un ruolo sociale dell'architettura. Ciò riflette, in parte, la cultura architettonica di Newcastle, radicata nell'ascesa e nella crisi di un grande porto industriale ai confini dell'Inghilterra. questa vocazione è emersa chiaramente nella generazione dei cosiddetti New Brutalists / Nuovi Brutalisti, chiamati a dare una forma e una sostanza alla politica del Welfare State. Come scuola di architettura orientata alla ricerca, l'APL intende il progetto come una sfida culturale collettiva che implica l'acquisizione e l'esercizio di conoscenze e competenze complesse, per le quali la realtà della pratica architettonica è un costante termine di riferimento. ; This article aims at tracking down some identity features of the School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape of Newcastle University. Characterised by a very heterogeneous teaching staff covering a broad breadth of expertise across the discipline, the School strongly supports the idea of a social role for architecture. Partly due to Newcastle's architectural culture - rooted as it is in the rise and fall of a great industrial port at the borders of England - this vocation emerged clearly in the generation of the so-called New Brutalists, called upon to give a form and substance to the politics of the Welfare State. As a research-led school of architecture, APL understands design as a collective cultural endeavour that involves the acquisition and exercise of complex knowledges and skills, for which the reality of architectural practice is a constant term of reference.
The library system of the Catholic University of Milan provides makes its contribution to the formation offer of the universities of Milan, Brescia, Piacenza/Cremona and Rome with their 14 faculties to which we can add 53 master courses and 35 post graduate completion courses, reaching a grand total of 42,000 users between students, professors and outside users.The patrimony of the library system distributed among the centres of the Padania area is channelled into a joint electronic catalogue. Each campus maintains a centralized structure for acquisition, cataloguing and shelf readying.Besides the traditional forms of document acquisition, since 1998 the Milanese library has adopted the procedure of acquisition on a predefined profile, known as an approval plan. This is an agreement with a specialized provider by which the latest publications that correspond to a profile previously defined by the library, are chosen and sent to the library itself. The first approval plan, still standing, of the Catholic University, was drawn up in 1998 with Blackwell's. It relates to Anglosaxon publications on some subjects regarding business economics. The project was decisively extended in 1999 with the provider Casalini, for Italian publications on social sciences, pedagogy, economics, political science and subsequently psychology, Italian literature and culture and linguistics. La tesi tratta dell'epurazione avvenuta all'interno del mondo universitario italiano dopo la caduta del fascismo. In essa si analizzano sia le misure adottate dagli Alleati, attraverso il Governo Militare e la Commissione di Controllo che avevano istituito per amministrare i territori occupati, sia i procedimenti di epurazione diretti dagli organismi italiani, fino alle leggi del 1948-49 che consentirono il ritorno in cattedra a quasi tutti gli epurati. Infatti, nonostante la grande profusione di energie che aveva portato in un primo tempo all'allontanamento di 177 professori, ridotti poi a 50 dopo il benevolo esame dei giudici italiani, dal 1946 il governo De Gasperi si impegnò a favorire il rientro in servizio di tutti gli epurati, secondo una precisa volontà politica di perdono e pacificazione. Non manca una disamina sulle reazioni interne alla casta accademica, che configurano nel complesso una chiusura nei confronti dell'epurazione, rivelando un marcato spirito di corpo. Alla fine del processo, escludendo i docenti deceduti nel frattempo, furono solamente 11 quelli che non tornarono più in servizio. È inoltre presente, in appendice alla tesi, una raccolta di schede relative ai casi di 197 professori di ruolo, in cui si ricostruisce individualmente l'iter dei procedimenti di epurazione. ; This thesis is about the purge of the Italian universities after the fall of the fascist regime. It includes both the interventions of the Allies, with the Military Government and the Control Commission that they established to control the occupied territories, and the legal actions undertaken by the Italian courts, and also the 1948-49 laws which allowed the comeback of most of the dismissed professors. Even though the great efforts of both the Allies and the Italians which led to the layoff of 177 full professors, later reduced to 50 after the forgiving judgment of the Italian justice, after the end of the war the De Gasperi cabinet supported the reinstatement of those who were purged, following a precise political will of forgiveness and appeasement. It is also included a close examination of the reactions by the academic community, which show a rejection against the purging process and a pronounced group spirit. At the end of the process, only 11 full professors didn't get their jobs back, not counting the ones who died in the meantime. Finally, there's an appendix which collects the cases of 197 full professors involved in the purge, where is summarized the evolving of their purging procedures.
What does the bust of Luigi Cibrario, who never was a professor, have to do with the rest of scholars present in the gallery of the University building? A wise person would perhaps answer with a political interpretation. The marble monument of Cibrario was inspired by a non-scientific need: the necessity of proving that the Risorgimento counted among its actors not only martyrs ofpatriotic battles but also scholars who fought the enemy with history. Cibrario, Piedmontese andmoderate, demonstrated, by proving it, that the House of Savoy was a thoroughly Italian dynasty.He then gained a valid reason for standing among the most acclaimed ones: those who contributedto the nationalization of monarchy. Wether Cibrario's thesis was scientifically correct, that isanother question.
As evinced by the different international analysis the attention to universities, has become an urgent need for the new emerging countries, for those countries that are struggling to overcome conflict and trying to freed from violence, from social and cultural poverty, but also, to a greater extent, for the more advanced countries that towards cultural competition, are facing transnational innovation difficulties. The ability to coagulate multiple resources, to activate processes of intercultural, cultural changes, social and economic transformations, process of mobilization of young people, of researchers by the innovating countries, is the basis of a new idea of democracy. A democracy of: human capital, of resources, of the role of peoples, of institutions and communities, a democracy from the standpoint of the quick changes, mutual and dependent relations that these changes entail. Overcoming the markets constraints of knowledge, the constraints of mobility, of culture, of training, places the universities under a double viewpoint aspect: on one side the ability to interact innovation in its territory and on the other the investment with strategic partnerships, border, network development, capable to build leadership and cooperation. This is an effort that universities must do in the present situation because of competition and innovation that puts them in comparison not only one with the other, but between universities and entreprise, universities and private companies, universities and research bodies and training, universities and the territor. It is in this contest that the different devices of the universities must be reinterpreted in the perspective of qualitative development, effective consultation and transformative impact of cultural and social territories, far and near.
The aim of this presentation proposes a first reasoned overview of the results of a new study of documents archive of the National Purge Commission of Universities Professors (in Italian: Commissione Nazionale di Epurazione del Personale Universitario) deposited at the Central State Archive in Rome. It is focused on the whole segment of economists which, up til now, has been considered only for some aspects linked to personal stories of the single scientists.This new research serves to demonstrate that in the personal files of the thirty-eight economists analysed, beyond the individual trial pathways, there is a common thread in their strategy of defence that makes them indistinguishable from their colleagues of the other subjects.In concrete terms, inside the purge of economists exist several situations, similar to those of the branches of knowledge under trial; they repeat acts of defence that are apart from their expert knowledge and their proper and specialized terms well fit together with the conceptual framework delineating purge as a rite-of-passage to the new Republic, but without hangover for their careers. ; Questo contributo propone una prima delucidazione ragionata degli esiti di una nuova esplorazione del fondo della Commissione Nazionale di Epurazione del Personale Universitario dell'Archivio Centrale dello Stato, focalizzata sull'intero segmento degli economisti che, finora, era stato valutato soltanto in alcuni lavori centrati sulle vicende personali di singoli scienziati. La nuova ricerca è tesa a dimostrare che nei fascicoli personali dei trentotto economisti esaminati, al di là dei singoli percorsi processuali, esiste una trama comune nella loro strategia di difesa che li rende indistinguibili dai colleghi delle altre materie. The teaching of Commercial Law at the Turin University started in 1835-1836. It was held until 1860 by professor Giovanni Francesco Vachino who was interested in developing a didactics that could answer the needs of the legal practice. He also held, since 1853-1854, an innovative course about political economics and commercial law devoted to entrepreneurs and practitioners working in the field. The course was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and given in a hall of the Faculty of Chemistry.
Dottorato di ricerca in Storia d'Europa, società, politica, istituzioni (xix-xx) ; L'obbiettivo di questo lavoro è tracciare una storia istituzionale dell'università, inquadrandola nel più generale contesto sociale ed economico che determinò le politiche formative del paese dall'immediato dopo guerra, passando per gli anni dell'espansione economica e quelli successivi della stagnazione, giungendo fino ai primi anni ottanta. La ricerca ha seguito due direttive: da un lato l'evoluzione dell'università determinata dalla politica istituzionale e i cambiamenti della struttura universitaria, dall'altro lo stravolgimento del ruolo sociale dell'università, determinato dal passaggio dal modello liberale di università d'elitè funzionale alla formazione di una ristretta classe dirigente, a indispensabile strumento per la formazione di numerose e ampie categorie di forza lavoro in un paese avviato verso la completa industrializzazione, verso l'enorme sviluppo del settore terziario e in un contesto di profonda urbanizzazione e in generale di superamento dei rapporti sociali dei decenni precedenti alla guerra. La prima traccia di ricerca è stata sviluppata su due categorie di fonti principali: da un lato il dibattito politico-parlamentare intorno ai progetti di legge (le aperture degli accessi del '61 e specialmente del '69, le liberalizzazioni dei piani di studio dello stesso anno, i provvedimenti sulla docenza degli anni settanta), alle indagini conoscitive (quella promossa dal ministro Gonella nel '47 e quella varata da Medici e conclusa con Gui ministro tra il '63 e il '65), alle proposte di riforma (i progetti n. 2.314 del '65, n. 612 del '69, l'elaborazione della "Bozza Cervone" fra '77 e '78), alla regolazione dell'assetto giuridico ed economico del personale docente, ai piani di finanziamento e sviluppo dell'università; dall'altro attraverso lo studio del dibattito interno e fra i partiti utilizzando come fonti i periodici ad essi vicini o attenti al tema ("Riforma della Scuola" e "Rinascita" per il PCI, "Scuola e Città" e "Il Ponte" per il PSI, "La Discussione" e "Tuttoscuola" per la DC, in seguito riviste come "Universitas", ecc.), oltre che atti di convegni e pubblicazioni curate dai protagonisti dell'epoca. Nella ricerca, un ampio spazio è dato al tema della pianificazione scolastica (animato dagli studi di tecnici dell'economia e della formazione), strettamente connessa al dibattito sulla pianificazione economica sviluppatosi prevalentemente negli anni del centrosinistra. La seconda traccia di studio, quella relativa ai cambiamenti sociali e culturali causa ed effetto dell'espansione dell'utenza universitaria, è stata analizzata attraverso lo studio di fonti inconsuete per la storiografia tradizionale, come gli studi di sociologia e di scienze della formazione sviluppatisi a partire dagli anni settanta, i quali fecero largo uso delle cifre sistematizzate da ISTAT e CENSIS sistematizzate nelle tabelle statistiche che completano il presente lavoro. Analizzare l'evoluzione delle componenti sociali ha significato anche indagare le vicende legate alla docenza universitaria, al suo ruolo rispetto al dibattito politico, alle richieste portate avanti e alle funzioni assunte all'interno delle facoltà di fronte ai profondi cambiamenti descritti. Per quanto riguarda gli estremi cronologici della ricerca, la scelta di interrompere la ricerca alla prima metà degli anni '80 risponde all'analisi più complessiva che si fa di quel periodo della storia politica ed economica non soltanto italiana, le cui successive vicende di riforma dell'università rappresentano a mio avviso l'emblema del netto cambio di fase vissuto dalla politica e dalla società anche per quanto riguarda l'istruzione superiore. La suddivisione in capitoli rispecchia invece più fedelmente le fasi della politica universitaria. Nel primo capitolo si fa il punto sull'eredità dell'apparato normativo ereditato dal fascismo e sulle effettive possibilità che si aprirono o meno alle forze politiche per inaugurare una nuova fase, mettendo in luce anche le prime strategie d'intervento abbozzate dai principali partiti nel corso degli anni '50. Nel secondo capitolo sono affrontate le previsioni scolastiche e i progetti di riforma ad esse più o meno legate: dagli studi della SVIMEZ in poi (influenzati da quelli più ampi condotti dall'OCSE), la programmazione scolastica e le previsioni sullo sviluppo economico del paese assunsero un ruolo determinante per la politica di riforma di scuola e università, politica che nei primi anni sessanta si concretizzò nell'istituzione della scuola media unica (1962), nelle prime aperture dell'università ai diplomati di istituti e soprattutto nella prima vera proposta di riforma dell'università, quella di Luigi Gui del 1966, l'unica inserita in un progetto organico di riforma di tutta l'istruzione, il Piano Gui, dichiaratamente ispirato dagli studi di previsione (anche se non sempre coerente con essi). Con il terzo capitolo si affronta la lunga discussione dentro e fuori il Parlamento in merito al più ambizioso progetto di riforma del periodo, il n. 612, sostenuto dai socialisti proprio mentre l'esperienza dei governi di centrosinistra andava esaurendosi nei primi anni settanta; dello stesso periodo (1969) è l'apertura degli accessi all'università a qualsiasi tipologia di diplomato e le liberalizzazioni dei piani di studio, veri spartiacque della storia dell'università italiana. Il terzo capitolo si chiude infine con l'analisi dei "provvedimenti urgenti" del 1973, emblema di un modello di sviluppo dell'università fortemente precario, sintomo dell'incapacità di riformare e investire seriamente nella qualità dell'istruzione universitaria a vantaggio di una strategia prettamente quantitativa. Le tematiche affrontate nel quarto e ultimo capitolo sono invece determinate dall'inedita fase politica vissuta dal paese dalla metà degli anni settanta, caratterizzata dall'avvicinamento fra maggioranza e opposizione fino alla creazione dei governi di "solidarietà nazionale", nati ufficialmente per far fronte a crisi economica e terrorismo politico. Mentre l'attenzione sulla riforma universitaria andava velocemente calando (nonostante un ennesimo dibattito durato anni in Parlamento su un altro complesso progetto di riforma, la "bozza Cervone"), si verificarono gli ultimi cambiamenti sostanziali della struttura accademica attraverso l'ultimo capitolo del riformismo per decreti, tramite il quale furono istituiti i dipartimenti e le figure di ricercatore e docente associato nei primi anni ottanta. Chiude il lavoro l'Appendice Statistica in cui sono raccolte le cifre dell'università italiana (studenti, docenti, rapporti quantitativi e distribuzione, finanziamenti) dal 1946 al 1985. ; The aim of this study is tracing an istitutional history of university, by focusing in the wider social and economic context that determined the higher education policies after Second World War – spanning from the economic espansion years and the later stagnation to the early eighties. The research follows two main paths: on the one hand the university evolution and change of structure as determined by institutional factors; on the other hand the revolutionized social role of universities over the period under investigation. Indeed, the passage from a liberal model of élite universities – destined to the education of ruling classes – to a mass university – an essential instrument in training numerous labor force categories – took place in a rapidly and profoundly changing context. At that time Italy was headed towards full industrialization, was experiencing a massive development of the third sector and mass urbanization. In general, Italy was overcoming the social relations of the decades before Second world war. The First research line was developed on the basis of two main sources. On the one hand I analyzed the political-parliamentary debate on Education Bill proposals (the opening of the access of 1961 and especially of 1969, the curriculum liberalizations of the same year, the measures on univerity teaching in the seventies), on the investigations (the one proposed by Minister Gonella in 1947, launched from Minister Medici and concluded by Gui which was Education Minister from 1963 to 1965), on the various reform proposals of the analyzed decades (projects n. 2.314 of '65, n. 612 of '69, the elaboration of the "Bozza Cervone" between '77 and '78) and about the regulation of the legal and economic framework of higher education teachers and the plans of university funding and development. On the other hand, I studied the internal party debates by employing periodicals close to political parties or particularly sensitive to higher education issues ("Riforma della Scuola" and "Rinascita" for the communist party PCI, "Scuola e Città" and "Il Ponte" for the socialist party PSI, "La Discussione" and "Tuttoscuola" for the Christian democrat party DC, for more recent years periodical such as "Universitas", etcetera). Furthermore I used as sources conference proceedings and pubblications edited by the key actors of the debate. In the research I gave a significant space to the scholastic planning issue. This debate was strictly connected to the one on the economic planning of the country, developed mostly in the center-left wing years. The second part of the study, as said above, focuses on the social and cultural changes which were cause and consequences of the widening of the university students. This was analyzed through the study of source that are unusual to the tradition historiography, such as sociology or higher education studies which were developed from the 1970s and largely employed ISTAT and CENSIS data and researches. I have rationalized these studies in the statistics tables present in this thesis. The analysis of the evolution of social components regarded also university teaching activity issues, its role in relation to the political debate, and the role of teaching staffs within faculties in the profoundly changing circumstances described above. For what concerns the historical time range of this work, the choice to stop in the early eighties answers to a more general analysis of a chapter of the political and economic history that started in that eighties, not only in Italy. In my opinion, the following sequence of events regarding higher education reforms represent the symbol of the clear and abrupt phase change that politics and society experienced at that time. The thesis is organized as follows. The first chapter takes stock of the legislation inherited from the fascism and of the first debates on university in the Assemblea Costituente and in the Parliament, sheding light on the first intervention strategies of major political parties during the fifties. The second chapter addresses the forecasts on school attendendence and the consequent projects of reform. On the basis of first studies of SVIMEZ – influenced by the broader ones of OCSE – the education planning and the forecasts on the country development played a crucial role for the reform policies of schools and universities. Policies embodied in the early sisxties by the institution of the scuola media unica in 1962, by the first opening of access to professional high school graduates; and, in particolar, in 1966 by the first real proposal of university reform, the Piano Gui of Luigi Gui, the only one included in an integral reform plan of all education levels and explicitely inspired from the educational planning studies. The third chapter focuses on the long discussion – inside an outside the Parliament – concernig the most ambitiuos reform project of the period, the n. 612. The latter, while the experience of the center-left wing goverments were extinguishing, was backed by the socialists. However, the socialist were responsabile for the actual watershed in Italian university history, the opening of university accesses to any category of high school graduated students. Lastly, the third chapter ends with the analysis of 1973's "provvedimenti urgenti", emblem of a model of university development heavily based on precarious work. A synthom of the incapacity both in reforming and in seriously invest in education quality, favoring only quantitative strategies. While, in the fourth and last chapter, focuses on the second halph of the seventies a complete new political phase for the country, characterized by the approach between the parliamentary majority (hold by Christian democrat) and the communist opposition until the creation of natonal solidarity governments, ufficially borned to tackle the economic crisic and political terrorism. In the early eighties, while the attention on university reforms was rapidly decreasing, the last substantial change to the academic structure were made after those of 1969. During the last chapter of the "reformism by decrees", the departments and the roles of researcher and associate professor were established. The statistical appendix ends the thesis. The subject of this paper is the story of a policy of small steps, implemented by a group of women engaged in promoting the equal opportunities culture at the University of Salerno. The reconstruction of the history of bodies delegated to Equal Opportunities policies is based, first, on the memory of the authoress, who was one of the participants in the activities described. It reconstructs, in a useful way, a path of which, otherwise, you could lose your memory. Events, people and institutions are presented. This context is of particular importance for the establishment, in 2009, of the Documentation Centre on Gender and Equal Opportunities, and, in 2011, of the OGEPO (Observatory for the diffusion of the Gender Studies and the culture of Equal Opportunity), which is connected in a web forum, to provide, among other things, information and advices about: reconciling work and family life, labor law, issues of career. ; L'oggetto di queste note è la storia di una politica di piccoli passi, attuata da un gruppo di donne, impegnate nella promozione della cultura delle pari opportunità presso l'U-niversità di Salerno. La ricostruzione della storia degli organismi deputati a politiche di pari opportunità si basa, in primo luogo,sulla memoria dell'autrice, che era una delle partecipanti alle attività descritte. Si ricostruisce, in modo utile, un percorso di cui, altrimenti, si potrebbe perdere la memoria. Si presentano eventi, persone, istituzioni. Que-sto contesto assume un particolare rilievo per l'istituzione, nel 2009, del Centro di Documentazione sul Genere e le Pari Opportunità, e, nel 2011, dell'OGEPO (Osservatorio per la diffusione degli Studi di Genere e la cultura delle Pari opportunità), che è collegato in un forum web, per fornire, tra le altre cose, informazione e consigli su: conciliazione tra lavoro e vita, diritto del lavoro, questioni di carriera.
The course of Italian Legal History carried out by Cesare Nani at the University of Turin from 1878 to 1899 can be reconstructed, in method and content, through the notes of the lessons collected by his students and collaborators. This contribution, which aims to present the first results of a research yet to be completed, outlines the main lines of this course and also frames Nani's teaching activity in the context of his time. To this end, it traces the subsequent reforms introduced in university legislation after Italian unification, with specific attention to the provisions concerning the teaching of legal history and the effects that they had on the construction of the identity of the discipline and on the creation of suitable teaching tools.
The paper presents and discusses the main results of Making the social world, the book published by John R. Searle in 2010. Social philosophy or, as the author prefers to say, «Philosophy of Society» is the main topic of the book. Sociality, claims Searle, is created and maintained by collective intentionality trough the speech act of Assignment of Function ("We make it the case by Declaration that the Y status function exists in contexts C"). The two final chapters apply the main ideas of the book to important topics, such as Power and Human Rights. This leads the discussion to the field of political philosophy. The final section of the paper presents some critics to the book. ; Il saggio presenta e discute i risultati principali di Creare il mondo sociale, il libro pubblicato da John R. Searle nel 2010. La filosofia sociale o, come preferisce dire l'autore, la «filosofia della società» è il tema principale del libro. La socialità, sostiene Searle, è creata e sostenuta dall'intenzionalità collettiva attraverso l'atto linguistico di Assegnazione di Funzione («Noi facciamo sì che, con una dichiarazione, esista la funzione di status Y nel contesto C»). I due capitoli finali applicano le idee principali del libro ad argomenti importanti, come il potere e i diritti umani. Questo porta la discussione sul campo della filosofia politica. La sezione finale del saggio presenta alcune critiche al libro.
Abstract The reform of the legal studies brought in by Cesare Alfieri di Sostegno in 1846 was a turning point for the Faculty of law of the University of Turin. This paper aims to underline the contributions given by the professors of law, in particular Felice Merlo, Luigi Amedeo Melegari and Pietro Lugi Albini, to the debate arisen in this field. The analysis highlights their belief of the importance of the legal studies, and details the subsequent legislative changes that shaped the legal cursus studiorum up to the accomplishment of national unity, with a special focus on the Bon-Compagni and the Casati laws. Nel presente contributo è ricostruito il percorso di progettazione, formazione e allestimento della collezione permanente d'arte contemporanea dell'Università degli Studi dell'Insubria di Varese-Como. A partire da riflessioni di carattere generale sul tema del riuso, con mirati sguardi alla normativa, in specifico alla cosiddetta "Legge del 2%" del 1949, e ad analisi comparate fra il contesto dei sistemi museali universitari italiani e gli omologhi europei e statunitensi, viene proposto un raffronto fra i casi delle collezioni permanenti di alcuni Atenei italiani di fondazione novecentesca e il polo accademico insubre, in funzione del rispetto delle politiche della Terza Missione e del Public Engagement. L'Ateneo varesino, a partire dalla sua stessa istituzione, ha avuto un rapporto vocazionale con la produzione artistica contemporanea del territorio: nel 1999 veniva organizzata la prima collettiva, replicata in occasione delle celebrazioni del Ventennale. Il successo dell'esposizione ha incentivato la nascita del Centro di Ricerca sulla Storia dell'Arte Contemporanea (CRiSAC), osservatorio scientifico che, nel biennio 2018-2019, si è fatto promotore di una serie di mostre monografiche di pittura, scultura e design, allestite negli spazi del Rettorato, ubicato presso l'ex Collegio femminile Sant'Ambrogio, e pubblicate sulle pagine di una collana di cataloghi dedicata. Impegno poi estesosi anche all'ambito fotografico, al quale è stato dedicato lo spazio del Padiglione Morselli, situato nel Campus di Bizzozero. Le donazioni di svariate opere, a seguito della chiusura delle due collettive, hanno consentito al gruppo di lavoro del CRiSAC di effettuare uno studio di fattibilità per una loro musealizzazione, concretizzatasi, nel settembre del 2019, nell'inaugurazione della collezione permanente, presentata in occasione dell'edizione annuale della Notte dei Ricercatori. The paper outlines the origin, development and display of the permanent Contemporary Art collection of the Università degli Studi dell'Insubria of Varese and Como. Starting with general reflections on the theme of reuse, focusing on the present legislation, especially to the so called "Legge del 2%" of 1949, and comparative analysis between the framework of Italian University museum systems and the corresponding European and Us ones, the essay presents a comparison among the history and development of the permanent collections of some Italian academic museums founded along the XX century and the Insubria academic center, according to the Third Mission and Public Engagement policies. The Università degli Studi dell'Insubria, since its foundation, had a vocational relationship with the contemporary artistic production of the territory: in 1999 the first collective exhibition took place; it was re-proposed for the celebrations of the twentieth anniversary. The success of the exposition encouraged the foundation of the Centro di Ricerca sulla Storia dell'Arte Contemporanea (CRiSAC), a scholarly center which, in the biennium 2018-2019, promoted a series of monographic exhibitions dedicated to painting, sculpture and design, set up in the spaces of the Rectorate, placed in the former female college of Sant'Ambrogio, and published in a proper catalogue series. The Center effort was also extended to the photography field, with dedicated space in the Morselli Pavillion, placed in the Campus of Bizzozero. The donations of a large number of art works, after the closing of both collective exhibitions, allowed the CRiSAC working team to conduct a feasibility study for they musealization which took shape, in September 2019, with the opening of the permanent collection display in the Rectorate during the annual edition of the yearly European Researchers' Night.
On 28 December 1908, at 5:20:27 a.m. one of the most catastrophic disasters of the 20th century occurred: the Messina earthquake. An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 that in 37 seconds destroyed the cities of Messina and Reggio Calabria, killing thousands of inhabitants. But the Messina earthquake was not only a catastrophe from a human and environmental perspective; it was also the beginning of a long period of crisis and emergency, and then of social, cultural, political and educational rebirth. This essay aims to retrace the history of the reconstruction of the "Regia Università di Messina" using as primary sources newspapers, weekly magazines and journals published in Messina in the years immediately after the tragic morning of 28 December. This reconstruction was not only physical, but also cultural and educational, and was urged on by the surviving teaching staff, as well as by the entire city because it meant – on the one hand – reminding the Government to keep its commitments and maintaining law enforcement; and on the other, the ability to neutralize the rapacity of individuals. ; Il 28 dicembre del 1908 alle ore 5:20:27 si verificò uno degli eventi sismici più catastrofici del XX secolo: il terremoto di Messina. Un sisma di magnitudo 7,1 Mw che devastò, in 37 secondi, le città di Messina e Reggio Calabria provocando migliaia di morti. Ma il terremoto di Messina non fu solo un disastro sul piano umano e ambientale; fu anche l'inizio di un lungo periodo di crisi e di emergenza, e quindi di rinascita, sociale, culturale, e non ultima educativa. Il saggio intende ripercorrere la storia della ricostruzione della Regia Università degli Studi di Messina usando come fonti quotidiani, settimanali e riviste nella città peloritana negli anni immediatamente susseguenti la tragica alba del 28 dicembre.Una ricostruzione culturale ed educativa, prima che materiale, sentita non solo dal corpo docente sopravvissuto ma da tutta la città, poiché significava, per un verso, richiamare il Governo al mantenimento dei suoi impegni e all'applicazione della legge e, per un altro, allontanare la voracità dei singoli.
