The aim of this research is to try to determine the effect of gastronomic experiential values of tourists visiting Eskişehir on their intention to revisit. In this context, the survey technique, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The data were collected from 399 domestic tourists visiting Eskişehir by survey technique. The collected data were subjected to demographic analysis, validity and reliability, explanatory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of the analysis revealed that local tourists reach information about Eskişehir through social media, the places they visit the most are street food, local restaurants and fast food restaurants, and they prefer individual travel. Considering the findings related to the hypotheses, the effect of epistemic value, health value and price value on revisit intention was supported, but it was determined that emotional value, interaction value, taste-quality and prestige values were not supported.

As epitomized by the invasion of Ukraine, the lasting geopolitical power struggle between the West and the rising nations, including Russia, has been dragging the international system towards polarization again. Its epicenter lies in the contest over the meaning of modernity that becomes particularly evident in the antagonistic attitudes towards sexual rights. Linking sexual rights to modernity has been counteracted by the discourse on traditional values. This article aims to critically examine Russia's advocacy of traditional values in the geopolitical context. Built on the tripartite of cultural authenticity, sovereignty, and anti-Westernism, the discourse of traditional values conveys the resistance to the imposition of liberal values regarding gender equality and sexual diversity as the constitutive parameters of modernity. The investigation extends beyond a simplistic unipolar or bipolar worldview and argues that Russia's stance is not merely counter-hegemonic against the West but also serves its imperialist aims as evidenced by its invasion of Ukraine.

This research aims to evaluate the developments in the recent history of the social studies course in Turkey (1998-2022) through the curricula. Since 1998, 2005, and 2018 social studies curricula and literature studies were used as data sources, the research conducted with the document analysis method. The data were evaluated by the thematic analysis method. At the end of the research, it was determined that the 1998 curriculum, which was first prepared with a behavioral approach, did not fully reflect the understanding of contemporary social studies. Secondly, the 2005 curriculum, which was prepared with a constructivist approach, emphasized individual identity instead of social identity, unlike the curricula prepared until that time. Furthermore, the 2005 curriculum brought many innovations such as learning strands, sub-disciplines, skills, concepts, values, activity recommendations, and assessment and evaluation elements that did not exist in previous curricula. Moreover, while sub-disciplines, skills, concepts, and activity recommendations were not included in the 2018 curriculum, some values were removed and some new values were added instead. Finally, it has been seen that the 2018 curriculum includes various competencies and literacy, unlike the 2005 curriculum. Based on these results, it can be suggested that the 2018 curriculum be updated in more detail to guide teachers.

Grit is a positive non-cognitive characteristic related to perseverance and passion for long-term goals. It positively impacts various aspects of life, but limited tools are available for measuring it, particularly in Turkish. Thus, this research aimed to establish the psychometric values for the Turkish version of the Oviedo Grit (EGO) scale by Postigo et al. (2021). The sample consisted of 500 Turkish university students. The analyses for single items, structural validation, measurement invariance, and the scale's relationship with personality traits (i.e., big five personality dimensions) and external variables (i.e., grade point average) supported the claim that the EGO scale, originally developed in Spanish by Postigo et al. (2021), is a reliable, unidimensional tool to measure grit Turkish language. Some limitations and potential paths for future research were also discussed.

Today, individuals live in a daily life space where they are addicted to fashion and what is constantly renewed. Consumption practices, guided by the symbolic values of consumption objects, have been a means of class mobility for individuals in different income groups as a status indicator. Certain types of consumption practices have become the means and purpose of creating a lifestyle, ensuring its continuity, and creating differences by making use of the artificial attractiveness of consumption objects. The motivation to be different from the other has become possible with consumption practicies that are reproduced, valued and given meaning, which have the potential to indicate the social position, class position and prestige of the individual. In this article, the dynamics and dimensions of differentiation and separation forms embodied by consumption practices are discussed.

This study intends to investigate the concept of social capital on the basis of evidence provided by theoretical perspectives and empirical studies. Various definitions of social capital touch upon beliefs, values, networks, and trust by complicating the meaning and creating conceptual chaos. In addition to shaky conceptual foundations, methodological inadequacies are also framing numerous problems and challenges. Moreover, lack of power, class, race, gender etc. analysis in the literature makes it difficult to contribute to poverty alleviation. In this respect, first, the origins of the social capital, definition, and the development of the concept will be explored. The investigation of the role of the World Bank in the promotion of the concept and the empirical evidences will constitute second part of this work. It is argued here in order to foster mechanisms of development, social capital projects require broader, more collaborative, and innovative approaches.

The main purpose of this research is to address the changes that the family, which is seen as the smallest unit of society, is experiencing today, and in particular the problems caused by generational differences among family members, using the example of Generation Z. At the same time, the most important dimension of this discussion, which constitutes the scope of the study, is the disagreement and lack of communication, which is observed in general in domestic relations and often between generations and in particular the changing family perception of Generation Z and their problems with their parents. Interviews with 16 students from 16 Faculties of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University constituted the sample of the study in order to reveal both the perception of the mentioned generation towards the family and the problems in family relations. The results of the interview were recorded on computer and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The most important conclusion reached in the study was that the perceptions, attitudes and behaviors of the generations who grew up in different conditions differed, especially in their approaches to family values, and because of this differentiation, the younger generations experienced serious problems within the family.

The financial systems, and particularly stock markets are complex systems. In this study, we investigate the evidence of chaotic dynamics of both BIST-100 stock market index and S&P 500 index. We compute Lyapunov exponents of stock market indices daily return series over the period from 27 May 2018 to 26 May 2022. The time interval under examination is chosen to reflect the effects of Covid-19 pandemic crisis on global financial markets, where extraordinary economic and financial policies have been implemented. The results of the study demonstrate that both BIST-100 and S&P500 indices exhibit chaotic behavior and associated maximal Lyapunov exponents are calculated to be positive, respectively. Both BIST-100 and S&P500 indices have equilibria around positive return values, reflecting the extraordinary effects of expansionary monetary and fiscal policies. Moreover, the magnitude of equilibria positive returns in S&P500 index is greater than that of BIST-100 index, which implies that cumulative effect of expansionary monetary and fiscal policy in U.S. economy overwhelms. The findings of the study suggest that greater positive return availability in S&P500 lowers the demand for emerging market assets and hence the capital inflow in BIST-100 stock market. The chaotic behavior eventually leads to an increase in complexity and recurrently causes volatility in stock markets. Therefore, in perspective of policy making inflation targeting should be considered as a main financial stability strategy to increase demand for Turkish assets and to enable capital inflows. Given upcoming monetary policy of global Central banks, our findings have important implications for policy making as well as portfolio and risk management.
