Correspondence exchanged between Arturo M. Elías, Mexican Consul in New York and the personal secretary of Gen. Plutarco Elías Calles, Soledad González in which the former mailed her a newspaper article about Calles' order to pay Dr. Rodrigo Octavio, Brazilian arbiter of the Claims Commission for voting in favor of Mexico and against the United States (See library). He also submitted an article about a secret plot between Mexico and Nicaragua through which they were planning not to comply with the agreements such as the construction of the Nicaraguan Canal, signed between the United States and the election winner Juan Bautista Sacasa. He informs of the publication of a secret agreement between Mexico and Japan through which Japan committed to providing military assistance to Mexico in case of a war with the United States. He enclosed a page of THE NEW YORK TELEGRAM containing an opinion article about the risk of constructing a Nicaraguan Canal managed by another country other than The U.S. (See library). / Correspondencia entre Arturo M. PEC, una página del periódico NEW YORK AMERICAN que contiene un artículo aseverando que Calles ordenó pagar al Dr. Rodrigo Octavio, árbitro brasileño de la comisión de reclamaciones para que inclinara su voto en favor de México y en contra de Estados Unidos (Ver Hemeroteca); remite también un artículo sobre un trabajo secreto entre México y Nicaragua mediante el cual al triunfo de Juan Bautista Sacasa se proyectaba desconocer los tratados con Estados Unidos como el de la construcción del canal nicaragüense; informa sobre la publicación de un tratado secreto entre México y Japón, por el cual este último se comprometía a prestar ayuda militar a México en caso de guerra con Norteamérica y le envía una página del periódico THE NEW YORK TELEGRAM en el que se escribe sobre la peligrosidad de construir un canal nicaragüense controlado por otro país que no fuera Estados Unidos (Ver Hemeroteca).
