There is much scholarship on dress and identity and the social, psychological and cultural aspects of dress within the textile and apparel discipline. While there is certainly much literature on dress, identity, fashion and the self, we sought to examine how Black women are centred in this area of research. To achieve our goal, we engaged in a systematic literature review to critically analyse how Black women's dress and identity are explored in fashion studies scholarship, which involved searching for recurring themes and then making suggestions for future research to fill in gaps regarding Black women's dress and identity expression. To narrow the scope of this research, we focused on two named theoretical perspectives: Black feminist thought and Africana womanism. After analysis of the publications, we identified two major themes: research centring resistance, oppression and Eurocentric beauty standards and holistic representations of Black women. Overall, our findings highlight that both Black feminist thought and Africana womanism theories could benefit from more expansive utilization within fashion studies research. Both frameworks are lightly referenced, especially Africana womanism, and, because of its rarity, could contribute newer and more critical knowledge to the discipline. There is so much more to explore about Black women's dress outside of these concepts. We hope to inspire new research on Black women with holistic representations of the self and style.

Wenn man Zeit als knappe Ressource sieht, erscheint die größtmögliche Transparenz über "Zeiten" als eine zentrale Voraussetzung, um autonom und informiert über das eigene Verhalten entscheiden zu können. Im Sinne der eigenen "Bewirtschaftung" der Zeit wäre Transparenz eine wesentliche Grundbedingung für (individuelle) Zeiteffizienz. Die Summe (potenzieller) individueller Zeiteffizienz könnte wiederum einen Beitrag auch zu einer kollektiven Zeiteffizienz leisten. Transparenz stellt sich allerdings nicht von alleine her, sondern muss "produziert" werden. Dies kann man entweder als öffentliche Aufgabe zur Herstellung gleicher Ausgangsbedingungen, als eine Voraussetzung für zeitliche Gerechtigkeit ansehen. Oder man kann Transparenz (Information) ihrerseits als knappes und damit marktfähiges Gut betrachten. Der Beitrag geht auf die Frage von Zeiteffizienz, die Reichweite und vor allem die Grenzen dieses Konzepts ein. In der Forschung und in der planenden Praxis spielt dieses Konzept explizit keine Rolle. Allerdings hat es implizit in alltäglichen planerischen Entscheidungen eine große Bedeutung. Mittlerweile gibt es eine Vielzahl von Instrumenten, um die Möglichkeiten für eine größere Zeiteffizienz zu erweitern. Ein wesentlicher Teil des Beitrages soll - anhand von Beispielen - einen Überblick über das Spektrum dieser Techniken
geben.

The process of instit'al adaptation is illustrated by the postwar development of nonWestern studies. The intellectual conflict springs from the fact that the definitions & classifications of major world areas do not correspond to the definitions & classifications in any soc sci discipline. The several disciplines have a diff'1 proneness to area studies, & the problem of integrating them for study of a particular area has no simple, uniform solution. This volume is a study of identity processes and identity dynamics in a post-colonial, multiethnic European context that is constantly changing under the pressures of globalisation, migration movements and integration. The authors represent a variety of disciplines: American studies, anthropology, cultural studies, ethnology, history, social psychology and sociology. Eleven of the thirteen chapters present empirical case studies from the Netherlands, Portugal, the Basque region, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The field observation, an ethnographic practice of collecting data and information about a given social setting and situation is often used in preliminary research to have an understanding of the community one is researching. However, from an artist/musician's perspective, the field observation has many commonalities with techniques used in audio field recording. How can field recording be used in parallel with field observations to explore and understand a community through art? This essay will begin with a comparison of field observations and field recordings as methods in their own disciplines, and continue with the concept of "attention" in art, music, science and anthropology. It will follow and conclude with a project that looks at combining qualitative research and art to explore a community of gardeners through recorded interviews and sounds. The work of Pauline Oliveros, Walter S. Gershon, Clifford Geertz, Anne McCrary Sullivan, and Steven Feld will be important in making the connections across disciplines.

Airborne early warning systems are deployed for collecting surveillance information on airborne enemy targets in real-time. The Maritime Patrol Radar system is used for surveillance of sea surface for various types of ships and low flying aircraft. Radio Detection And Ranging system, or RADAR, in short, is an Electromagnetic sensor integrated on such airborne platforms. An antenna of this radar system is generally mounted under the belly of the aircraft and protected by a cover called a radome. This radome is installed to protect the radar antenna from environmental disturbances. Due to the installation of the radome, increased drag is experienced by aircraft during its flight due to resistance to the flow of the oncoming air. Radome design is a multidisciplinary effort involving structural, aerodynamics, and electromagnetic disciplines. In this study, the multi-disciplinary design of the maritime patrol aircraft radome for optimality in terms of structural strength and aerodynamic performance is carried out by integrating both disciplinary analyses on an optimisation software platform. The utopia point in terms of these two disciplines is found.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or not? The answer is not! Within the historical context of our discipline, a doctorate degree should stand for advancing and translating knowledge. Clinical practice is the core of this knowledge. Separating the practice and research missions could undermine our ability to be equal partners in universities, as well as diminish our effectiveness in establishing the evidence for quality and safe health care.

AbstractThis article examines what colleges and universities have to do if they wish to remain relevant. Many students graduating college today lack critical thinking skills. One reason for this is that academic faculty themselves lack some important skills, which include: 1) an appreciation of uncertainty; 2) respect for other disciplines; and 3) an understanding of what true diversity is all about. All of these require humility, which is not valued enough in academe.
