The changing conditions of the day lead to changes in the forms and functions of the spaces and structures with the needs of the users. This change manifests itself not only in individual spaces, but also in structures with collective use, sharing and different functions such as libraries. Library structures not only support education, but also lead and support the socio-cultural and economic development of societies. Libraries come in many different forms for user diversity. At this point, academic libraries gain importance with the support and service they offer to scientists as well as students. However, it is also a fact that the traditional library services and structures, where various resources and collections are brought together, offered to the service of users and stored, do not meet the changing technological and social needs of the day. On the other hand, it should not be forgotten that user requests and needs can be easily met with the fiction and design that will be created with the right methods. In this context, the subject of the research is to understand whether the current physical conditions of the academic libraries meet the needs of the users, to evaluate how the spatial design criteria and qualities of the new generation academic libraries to be built are perceived by the students of the architecture department, to reveal the expectations and satisfaction level of the library users from the services provided and spatially. Within the scope of the study, Ondokuz Mayıs University Central Library was analyzed and student interviews were conducted. After the data and findings obtained from the studies were analyzed, suggestions were made on the subject in line with the results.
During their life times, societies have always wanted to symbolize everything that constantly required remembering or being remembered. That kind of desire to symbolize came out as monuments in the course of time. Monuments have always changed and renewed as with the changing world. During this process, it has been one of the most important components to monitor the cultural changes of societies. Time has attributed them the characteristics such as holding the traits of construction period and describing this peculiar time. Along with developing societies, monuments have lost their characteristic as the only single structure and they have been considered as small finds from the past as well as settlements that exist in real life. The tradition of monument together with the concept of time has shown itself in Turks that have roots deep in history. Monuments in Turkish civilizations have exhibited different characteristics in the course of time and changed with social, religious, political and economic developments. Turkish people reflected the characteristics of the term in a regional integrity to make monuments everywhere they went. The Atatürk Monument in Konya in Neo‐Classic Age style appears as the synthesis of monument‐statue approach in the early Republic Years. Therefore, the study of Konya Atatürk Monument is important in terms of shedding light on the monument understanding as well as the architecture of the term.

; Although important progress regarding development of democratic norms has been maintained in Africa after Cold War, armed conflicts on the Continent have been held until nowadays. Violent armed conflicts, dispute reasons of which are categorized such as national power, ideology, autonomous, secession, territory, natural resources and others have been witnessed in most of African countries in the last twenty years. In the integration process of Africa, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was established in 1963 and after transformation in 2002 the aforementioned organization left its place to African Union (AU). Structures and approaches of both organizations towards maintaining peace and security show diversities. The primary objectives of OAU were defined such as strengthening of African identity, acquiring independence of countries, which were under colonial administration and integrating Africa. In regards to AU, instead of former dominant principle "non intervention" to the countries on the Continent, AU adopted "non interference" principle, which provides intervention possibility in line with mentioned conditions in the Constitutive Act. African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA), which was constituted as a result of seeking efforts towards maintaining peace and security, has become functional since 2002. AU aims to integrate Regional Economic Communities (RECs) on the Continent into APSA by making use of RECs in the field of security. In this study, efforts towards ensuring peace and security in the process of African integration; armed conflicts on the Continent and Darfur crisis, as a case study, are analyzed; capacity of APSA, which was established with the understanding of collective defense and security approach, is commentated and solutions to overcome its insufficiency recommended.

This study thoroughly investigates the use of straw bales as a building material, capitalizing on their natural and sustainable properties. Straw, utilized in construction for centuries, offers environmental and structural benefits, aligning with sustainability practices. The global adoption of straw bale building emphasizes its advantages in thermal insulation, sustainability, durability, low embodied energy, and sound insulation. While recognizing these benefits, the study addresses difficulties in moisture management and mold growth, stressing the need for careful consideration in implementation. Thus, this paper aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on straw bale building, offering valuable insights and recommendations for architects seeking sustainable alternatives in the construction industry. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance of continuous research and innovation to overcome limitations and enhance the efficiency of straw bale architecture. By fostering a deeper understanding of the problems and opportunities associated with this eco-friendly building method, this paper tries to encourage the building industry to embrace sustainable practices and contribute to a greener future.
