In this article the political figure of Alberto Lista y Aragon is analysed under a conceptual methodology and a detailed review of historical references used by this author in his writings is also given. Even if this author, as well as the group of editors of El Censor newspaper, has been the object of general criticism owing to his alleged ideological inconsistency, this article points out not only the political coherence of Alberto Lista y Aragon but also the leading role played by this author in the definition of Spanish "moderantismo". Foreign policy design is crucial for Mexico's participation in world affairs. This paper explores the Mexican role within the North American scenario during President Fox administration. The variables that the author considers underscore the trilateral arena, rather than Mexico's bilateral relations with the us & Canada, separately. However, the weight of Mexico-us relationship is crucial for the country's insertion within the northern region. The author identifies the main Mexican foreign policy proposals in this scenario, & points out some involvement guidelines for the future. Mexico's abroad presence is a must for a positive development of our security, economy, culture, politics, & diplomacy. Figures, References. Adapted from the source document.

Based on the recognition of the importance of the commonly referred to as factual powers in Mexico's political life, and specifically in the media power, the author calls upon our attention the insufficient analysis and research on the subject and underscores the need to overcome this deficit by systematically and rigorously approaching it as a subject of inquiry and as part of a research agenda. This article brings to the fore the basic points of such an agenda and proposes a multidisciplinary analytical approach to develop it. The author argues that the studies' findings can be applied to constructing limits for the exercise of media power, which are indispensable for national democratic development. The author examines the initial efforts of President Vicente Fox to transform the decision-making process on national security issues, & how the rivalry within the Fox political elite was resolved in favor of maintaining the decision-making inherited patterns from the authoritarian model. This led to the continuance of a decentralized model within the agencies in charge of national security. Also, the author explores those cases that had the greater impact, namely, the relationship with the US, especially after the 9/11 terrorist attacks; the Chiapas crisis concerning the sui generis & stalled negotiations between the government & the EZLN; & the emergence of public insecurity & drug-trafficking as the main national security problems in the country, with the challenges entailed by having the armed forces to fight them. This work offers a comparative review of presidential offices in Mexico & the US during the last decades, with a special focus on the Vicente Fox administration. The author puts forward two main arguments: first, the nature of the presidential staff is highly dependent on contingent factors, structural & particular; second, the task of governing demands taking into account the advice that "the president needs help" (Lowi). Based on these notions, size & power differences between presidential staffs of both countries up to the end of the 1990s are demonstrated, & these differences are explained on account of the nature of each political system. Finally, the author examines Vicente Fox's presidential staff & from this analysis stems an explanation based on specific contingent aspects. References. Adapted from the source document.

This article reconstructs the change made by Habermas from exclusive secularism years before 1989 to his vision of a post-secular society, defended primarily in a series of works from the last ten years. The author argues that, despite this significant change, Habermas's conception remains, in the philosophical level, a questionable tax secularist vision imprinting Kantian reason. From the perspective of sociological theory, Habermas's vision is problematic because it projects a new type of society for something that is at best a minority phenomenon, specifically religious content translation to secular content through a rational dialogue between citizens. Unlike this Kantian and hyperbolic vision of a "post-secular society", the author suggests an idea less rationalistic and more nuanced interactions between discursive and non-discursive religious practice and democratic practice. After more than 20 years of a gradual but cumulative dismantling of the resources that the State had available to channel & promote development, the author of this text intends to compare the perspective that Mexican & Korean elites have on this issue, as the latter's contribution has been without doubt more successful, & also to contrast both elites' strategies in face of the withdrawal of the State. In particular, the author asks: Why is it that Korean & Mexican large firms, while having so much in common ?at least until the 1980s?, had such a different impact on their respective economies? Why do Mexican groups grow at spectacular rates in the context of a virtual economic stagnation? Why wealth concentration does not represent an unbeatable obstacle for growth in Korea, whereas it constitutes a structural hindrance in Mexico? Tables. Adapted from the source document.
