A new problematic, exposed in the Brundtland Report, written upon the United Nations' request, throws light on the various links between scientific, political and economic requirements in order to ensure ethics and feasability of these policies. The present article highlights the differential problematics, the underlying principles and the evaluation and accounting tools making such strategies possible.
Relying on these references, the author describes, in different geopolitical areas, the present state of economic and financial strategies aiming at environment protection and sustainable development.
