Reflections on nursing practice and its economic, political and ideological determinants are shown, being present and raised questions to the reader.
The author intends to account here for the multiplicity of forms and sites of contemporary theatrical creation through the notion of "théâtre traversé / traversed theater," based especially on three examples chosen for their diversity: BR-3, a site-specific work of the Teatro Vertigo; theatrical video performances of the Berlin Group, in particular Land's end; the literary, visual and technological creations of director Guy Cassiers. The understanding is that these pieces do not seek so much to produce representations with spectators but rather perspectives, referring to Viveiros de Castro's anthropological notion: Perceptual slips, conceptual disconnections, social disaffiliations, activating, for each spectator in his or her own way, the politics of "ignorant master" (Jacques Rancière), and thus promoting new modes of subjectivity.English version by Leslie Damasceno.
This article examines the features of folk teachers' everyday life in the Russian Empire during the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The study is based on such concepts as everyday life, lifestyle, standard of living, and working conditions. As the part of the study of folk teachers' everyday life, the author focused on the consideration of the material, legal status, living and working conditions, and professional opportunities provided to teachers. Besides, the reasons for the frequent layoffs of national teachers were studied. Based on a deep analysis of historical sources and literature, the author comes to the conclusion that by the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX centuries most of the teaching positions in public schools began to be occupied by female teachers, and attempts were made to raise their material and legal status at the legislative level. Despite such attempts, folk teachers in the Russian Empire had a low professional status in contrast to their male colleagues during the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries. This was due to the fact that during this period woman were not full members of society yet and the processes of women's emancipation in Russia proceeded much more slowly than in other countries.
Post-colonial Portuguese literature published since 1974 has obscured the trauma of the colonised. In the context of Portuguese prose fiction published since the beginning of the second decade of the present millennium, authors of African descent follow on from the generation that brought about the African liberations. However, due to the years of political and economic instability that followed in the former colonies, these writers became part of the African-heritage diaspora that has grown up in Portugal. As such, they form the visible face of the post-colonial cultural entanglement that was produced by colonialism. Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, the author of As Telefones (The Telephones, 2020), the novel that is the focus of this article, provides an example of African-heritage writing and lived experience that has points of reference in Portuguese and Angolan cultures alike. This article argues that Portuguese prose fiction by authors of African descent destabilises cartographical imaginaries to reflect on the cultural complexity of the lived experience of people of African descent, contributing to a polyphony that has been absent from collective memory in the public space, and consequently creating possibilities for historical reparation. This article maintains that, on the one hand, As Telefones decolonises the experience of loss that literature published after 1974 has associated not only with the memory and experience of the coloniser's body, but also and significantly, with the feeling of saudade (nostalgia or longing) that is so central to Portuguese culture; on the other, it argues that the narrative focus on the telephone as the sole means of transmission of post-memory introduces a rupture in Portuguese literary convention — in which writing is a privileged witness — by endorsing the orality that feeds into the origins of African literatures. ; This paper is intended to reflect upon the concept of identity on the perspective of urban indigenous. In this sense, the action here described participates in the gamut of artistic interventions asking for social and political change.
For some time, we have seen various authors question the frontier that traditionally separated the literary texts from the conceptual texts. One of the most relevant authors in this regard is Roland Barthes. However, one of his most famous articles seems to contradict that idea. In Authors and Writers, Barthes seems to adopt this distinction to describe the production of texts. Authors are those who work the language itself, while writers are those who try to develop their thoughts without thinking about the language they are using. If that is true, language would be, for the writers, a mere tool for conveying ideas. In this article, we propose an alternative interpretation of those notions, more focused on the social roles of authors and writers. By doing that, we can better understand the figure of the author-writer, characterized by social exclusion. This analysis shows that the theme of writing is always accompanied by a reflection on its political nature.
This article presents new ethnographic and visual material on the dance of the makixi, the ancestors manifested in the form of masked dancers, originally found in the circumcision rituals (mukanda) practiced by Bantu peoples from the large area of confluence between Angola, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, including the Luvale. Proclaimed Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005, the main locus of their performance today is the large Luvale 'culture' festival, held since the 1950s in Zambia and more recently in Angola. Based on an ethnography of the Angolan version of the festival, researched between 2013 and 2013, the author focuses on the makixi dances, which comprise the event's main attraction, showing the close relationship between the morphology of the masks and the dance styles, helping to narrow the enormous gap opened up by the lapse of almost forty years without any research being carried out in the area due to warfare.
; The conflicting relationship between an alleged "dancing nature" of Brazilian people and the only remote participation dance takes on stage in Brazil's cultural scene is the initial provocation that led Marianna Monteiro to carry out her research, timely called Dança popular: espetáculo e devoção (Popular dance: spectacle and devotion). As suggested in the subtitle, research deals with seemingly opposite vectors - coming from the old dialectic of the sacred and the profane - however, marked by unsuspected relations, where politics, economics, aesthetics and religion intersect in the formative process of Brazilian popular dances, considered by the author as an integral part of the expansion of the Portuguese Modern State, between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. The research is the result of the doctoral thesis presented to the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Literature and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP), under the guidance of Professor Olgária Feres Matos.

In Brazil, as in many other countries, the presence of the private sector in education has been increasing exponentially, as pointed out by many studies. Such a movement for the advancement of the private sector in education can be understood in the movement of crisis and capitalist expansion. This article is a theoretical essay based on research carried out by the author in more than 15 years of studies on the theme of privatization of education. It aims to reflect on the incidence of the private sector in the "curriculum construction process" and to highlight that this movement has led to the appropriation of the public purposes of education by business reformers. It points to the potential of democratic management as a possibility against hegemony in the perspective of defining public and collective purposes for education. Since the end of the 1970s, capitalism experienced a regressive phase – neoliberal rentier-financier capitalism – and, since 2008, has entered a terminal crisis. Capitalists ceased to control the process of capital accumulation and innovation that legitimized them, and capitalism stop to produce economic development and human progress. In its place, a new social organization is emerging that the author calls "democratic managerialism", in which the class of managers or technobureaucrats once again became stronger and constituted the nucleus of the new dominant class coalition. At thesame time, democracy has been facing the authoritarian challenges well and it is possible to predict that it will deepen in democratic managerialism. This article aims to discuss the conception of language utopia in Roland Barthes, as well as its relationship with the notion of Writing Degree Zero and The Neutral, notions that refer to linguistic phenomena that break with the paradigmatic and binary structure of language. Therefore, the reflection on the utopia of language in Roland Barthes seeks to understand to what extent the French author understands form as value, linking an ethical and political dimension to his aesthetic project. In this way, we discuss how Barthes understands the utopia of language as a possibility of resistance to the fascist character of language in Writing Degree Zero, The Pleasure of Text, The Rumor of Language, The Neutral and Lesson. In addition, the possible relations of meaning made between Writing Degree Zero and The Neutral in the light of commentators of the Barthesian work that study the conception of language proposed by Barthes are commented: Jean-Claude Milner, Bernard Comment, Rodrigo Fontanari and Leda Tenório da Mota.
This article is based on two books, Administração e contexto brasileiro (Administration and Brazilian context) and A nova ciência das oganizações (The new science of organizations), written by Guerreiro Ramos. The study presents the main aspects of the organizational theories analyzed by the author, observing particularly what he calls "blind spots". Guerreiro Ramos exposes four crucial points that organizational theories fail to address and, in the development of these points, demonstrates concepts that are absorbed and transformed. The "blind spots" are: a) the notion of rationality that dominates not only organizational studies but also economics, political science, and social sciences; b) the non-distinction between substantive and formal meanings of organization; c) organizational theories have no clear understanding of the role of symbolic interactions; and d)finally, organizational theories rely only on a mechanomorphic view of the human. Guerreiro Ramos lists the points in a specific chapter of the book A nova ciência das organizações (The new science of organizations), and analyzes and explains them throughout the two works guiding this research. It appears that the author needed to present these blind points thoroughly before proposing his multidimensional model of society (which is not addressed in this study), a measure that may be explained by the extension and depth of his work, observed by the numerous possible agendas presented by several scholars in order to continue the study of Guerreiro Ramos' contributions. It is possible to conclude that Guerreiro Ramos' ideas remain current, and the criticisms and concerns he brought to the field of organizational studies are relevant and fundamental for those who intend to develop critical studies both in teaching and development managerial approaches.
; The development of higher education is a major asset for social development and for that of a society of knowledge, all over the world. In Brazil, as in France, a phenomenon of mass enrolment at university has occurred over the past few years. For some, it is a sign of the democratisation of higher education. The democratisation is real regarding enrolling at university, but access to knowledge is, conversely, marked by inequality. Indeed, first year students have extremely different levels of competence, and after they have enrolled at university, freshmen often experience serious difficulties. In France, students fail or are reoriented massively during their first year at university. This is an indication of how difficult the passage from high school to university is. The author rests his studies on empirical research, and demonstrates that the students who have not managed to affiliate to their new world fail or drop out, as success in higher education implies learning the job of being a student. The passage from high school to university comes with substantial changes in the students' relations to knowledge. The rules differ, they are more sophisticated, more complex and more symbolic and have to be rapidly assimilated by the new students. The author raises the question of a pedagogy of affiliation, illustrating his purpose with two examples of successful experiments that he carried out: having the students write a diary on a daily basis on the one hand, having them learn the methodology of library work on the other hand. These two activities are easily carried out and are efficient in helping freshmen successfully enter their new world: the world of ideas.
