Катиньський злочин, скоєний владою СРСР у 1940 р. стосовно військовополонених, має багато аспектів. Він був здійснений з політичних міркувань. Є трагедією близько 25 тисяч жертв та їхніх родин. Убивство представників польської інтелегенції, а також посадових осіб, котрі забезпечували громадський порядок та безпеку, має також цивілізаційний аспект. Жертви виконували важливі суспільні функції. Серед них були вчителі, юристи, а також численна група представників медичної сфери. Останні в мирний час займалися лікуванням цивільного населення. У статті вказано втрати, які зазнала система охорони здоров'я в південно-східних воєводств ІІ Речі Посполитої в результаті Катиньського злочину. The Katyn massacre, the homicide of POW, committed by the Soviet authorities in 1940, has a lot of dimensions. It was committed for political motives. It isn't just a tragedy of 25 thousand victims and their families. The homicide of representatives polish intelligentsia and people who had ensured a social order and safety has also the importance of civilization. The victims had acted important social functions. Among of them were teachers, lawyers and the large group of the representatives of medical professions. This last group was involved in the treatment of civilians. This article presents losses suffered by health service from the south-eastern voivodships of the second Polish Republic as a result of the Katyn Massacre.
