Within the Holy Land, Bethlehem is a must see destination. Bethlehem's permanent and inherent desirability endows tourism-related businesses located there with a sustainable foundation for economic growth and a comparative advantage within the regional and global tourism markets. Th is study analyzes trends in Palestinian tourism and hospitality industries within the city of Bethlehem in the West Bank of the State of Palestine from 1994-2015. According to the research fi ndings from time series and index number methods, hospitality and tourism indicators in Bethlehem oscillated with changes in the local political and economic environment and shifts in the global economic climate. Th e recent elevation of the stature of the State of Palestine in the international community and its steps toward future full statehood could mark a new era for cooperation between Palestine and Israel, assuming increased international pressure to do so. Th e study's fi ndings support policies advocating greater economic cooperation between Palestinians and Israelis as a means of promoting sustainable peace through economic liberalization of the Palestinian economy, beginning with tourism-related activities

Water shortages have been for a long time a serious problem in the Middle East as well as other parts of the world. The large and arid land of the Middle East has also been dependant on water which is provided by few rivers. This issue has been tackled by researchers, orientalists and exploration associations (Palestine Exploration Fund 1882, and Oliphant, 1880). The aim of this paper is to tackle ways of managing and solving chromic water shortages and hydropolitical tensions in the Middle East. None of the Middle Eastern Countries enjoys water surplus with exception of Turkey. Fortunately, some Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman which suffers from water shortages enjoys fuel surplus. These countries are trying to solve their water shortages by using underground water and heavily investing in water desalination. Other countries like Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq are losing their grip on their national water as a result of sever and perpetuated conflicts which have never ended since the First World War. In terms of technological progress Middle Eastern countries are also differentiated. In this respect, Turkey managed to develop itself and upgrade its social and economic conditions, but most of Arab countries are lacking behind. All of Middle Eastern countries enjoy and share rich cultural heritages related to water management and consumption. Such a richness will help to upgrade peoples' awareness regarding water consumptions and uses in different economic sectors. Middle Eastern countries suffer from physical water scarcity and the neighboring regions in Africa, Europe and Latin America suffers from economic water scarcity. In addition the regions are of little or no water scarcity lie in Northern Eurasia and Antarctica. As a result of these differences, this paper will suggest ways in which concerned countries and professional organizations may take part in bridging the gap between such physical and economic water scarcities. A projected model of cooperation between Middle Eastern countries in terms of natural resources, cultural, economic, and social enterprises needs to be developed. In addition, International community has to take part in introducing solutions to conflicts of Arabs and Israel, Iraq, Iran, Cyprus, Afghanistan, and Yemen.

AbstractThis paper addresses the socio-spatial impact of the Zionists' colonial project in Palestine, including the replacement of the indigenous Palestinian people by Jewish immigrants. At present, the Palestinians, displaced or living in the remaining part of Palestinian lands number approximately ten million. The continuous Israeli occupation has failed to bring stability or prosperity to either the region or the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. Projections indicate that demographic changes will transform the current situation into an apartheid system, where the majority Palestinians will be ruled by an Israeli minority. The objective of this paper is to suggest a just solution for the Palestinian-Israeli impasse in advocating the establishment a one-state solution, a proposition which appears to be gaining increasing support.

This research is designed to investigate the status of tourism in in the Park of Wade Al- Badan, which is located near the city of Nablus, in the West Bank during the period of political transition, socio economic, behavioral and special variables of visitors are examined and compared, the site survey was conducted on the last Friday on July, 2000, Starting at 1 .00 p. m. and ending at 7.00 p. m. the results indicate that the majority of the visitors came came from the West Bank, the findings suggested that tourism will be a major economic sector in Palestine, Which lacks tourism facilities, better special management and attractive tourism sites is also needed but the Israeli security policies create barrier against the execution of Palestinian development plans the study also reveals it has managerial and policy implications in terms of preparation of growth and tourism promotion

Since the middle of nineteenth century, new foreign Jewish and other immigrants played a great role in changing the traditional landscape of this holy city. At present, this holy city is being transformed into segregated neighborhoods. New mega urban projects are being constructed regardless of the holiness of the place, in order to change its identity as well as its demographic balance. Only just and lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis is the only guarantee to keep Jerusalem's traditional landscape in place and at the same it may be modernized

Surinder,Bhardwaj:Kent State University ; This is a study of the impact of governmental policies on space and cultural landscape changes in the village of Al-Yazeed (Asir Province) in southwestern Saudi Arabia. Data were collected from residents via a questionnaire, interviews, a field survey, government reports and handwritten documents. The study revealed that the settled residents of Asir Region are still living in a clanship but it has been weakened as a result of socio-economic development taking place in Saudi Arabia. It also showed that the nuclear pattern of the Saudi village which is based upon the clanship system as represented in Al-Yazeed has dramatically changed to a dispersal sprawl as a result of the development which has taken place over the last thirty five years. The vertical type of Saudi house has changed to one spacious floor with large rooms and windows, but privacy is still considered in such a conservative Islamic society. Finally, timing and function of weekly markets have changed to meet the new requirements of the fast developing Saudi society. Al-Yazeed is not the only example. Other parts of Saudi Arabia have witnessed similar changes
