This contribution aims to deal with the current processes of global raciali- zation and racism. For a long time, researchers dealt with local dynamics and phenomena of racism often forgetting how global, large, planetary processes of exploitation, appropriation, and dispossession sculpt these dynamics at the local level. The link between local racisms and global processes of disposses- sion and deprivation seems now more plausible than ever, even in the case of new racisms rising up in many Western countries. The contribution investiga- tes the following aspects: • The Anthropocene as the unstable frame to understand the socio-ecological crisis. • The new stage in the process of human and natural resources government called as "racialized soveregneity". • The decreasing of "natural fertility of capital" and the different strategies to cope with it. • Geo-capitalism, global racial formation, "systemic" racism, worldwide apartheid prospects: how semi-peripheries are experiencing new or re- newed forms of local racial regimes. • Trajectories of racialization in the frame of Anthropocene: causes of Earth system alteration, migrations as adaptation strategies, and losses of habitat. • The racialized body as the core of social manipulated reaction to global crisis. • The "racialized unequal exchange" as grounded on historical division of people in different subordinate races.

Il termine ghetto ha assunto sempre più una sua connotazione emotiva che assume i contorni di una vera e propria eccezionalità e morbosità sociale. A partire da una sintetica rassegna della lunga tradizione sociologica si propone una riflessione introduttiva orientata ad analizzare quanto di evocativo si associ al ghetto. Ciò svela il suo potenziale retorico e stigmatizzante. Inoltre, il ghetto nella sua articolazione urbana e/o rurale mostra di essere l'esito di politiche di esclusione, come individuato dall'estesa letteratura sociologica nordamericana sul tema.

The last political elections in March 2018 highlighted the issues connected to mi-gration and the flows of political refugees, making them central issues in the polit-ical agenda and in the public opinion. The electoral consensus with League North (Lega Nord) and its leader Matteo Salvini has increased across 2018 following an anti-migration rhetoric. Within this discursive frame, the issues of Islam and Mus-lim communities have drawn particular attention through the stereotype of their incompatibility with Christian and Western cultures, and claims that Islam is a re-ligion based on terrorism. The xenophobic and anti-Islam climate fostered by the traditional political players from the right wing, Lega Nord and Fratelli d'Italia, by the extreme-right movements (Casa Pound and Forza Nuova), and by the most con-servative branches of the mass media, such as Il Giornale, has caused very negative effects on a social level, legitimising racist behaviours. Physical and verbal attacks on immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and Muslim citizens have increased in the north and south of Italy, leading to dramatic events such as the wounding by gun-shot of six migrants from Nigeria in Macerata on 3 February and the murder of a Senegalese street seller, Idy Diene (54), in Florence on 5 March. Moreover, as out-lined by research (see Vox Diritti), the hate speech towards Muslim communities has increased, reflecting the birth of a widespread hostility in Italian society towards cultural diversity. The response of civil society, the democratic associations, and an important part of the Catholic world has definitely been consistent, but it appears to be ineffective in terms of opposing this drift. The collaboration between these realities and Muslim NGO is becoming more and more urgent in order to contain the situation that is jeopardising the democratic structures and the future of civil coexistence in Italy.

I Contratti di quartiere sono progetti integrati di recupero urbano indirizzati a quartieri caratterizzati da diffuso degrado delle costruzioni, da carenze di servizi e da scarsa coesione sociale. Gli interventi previsti hanno contenuto urbanistico e sociale e sono realizzati predisponendo forme di partecipazione dei residenti. L'articolo esamina i limiti di questo tipo di intervento considerando gli aspetti legati alla prassi di governo (difficoltŕ nel coinvolgimento dei residenti), e si interroga sull'effettiva capacitŕ di promuovere attraverso questo tipo di azione percorsi di inclusione sociale, il rischio č infatti quello di confinare a livello locale le cause dell'esclusione sociale, perdendo cosě di vista il contesto piů ampio sia a livello macroeconomico che macrosociale.
