Objective: To analyze the implications of professional practice of these nurses graduated from the CEEO EEAN / UFRJ for quality health care for women. Method: This was a qualitative study, where the subjects were twenty (20) obstetrician nurses graduated at CEEO / EEAN who work in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Results: The autonomy and ownership of the practice of midwives are legitimized and enforces the law as a nurse midwife, however, the autonomy of childbirth care is limited by its lack of knowledge about the legal support to serve in this area of care, due to the impediment professional practice and prejudice from health institutions and medical staff through verbal violence and its derivations, generating negative implications for the quality of care and practice. Conclusion: So, professional recognition by the acceptance of nursing practice in its entirety should be legitimized.
Objetivo: este comunicado pretende provocar la reflexión de los profesionales de Enfermería obstétrica para que prosigan en la lucha por la garantía de los derechos de las mujeres y de sus bebés, en plena pandemia de COVID-19.Desarrollo: concentra la atención en la violación de los Derechos Humanos de las mujeres, de sus hijos y de las enfermeras obstétricas y obstetras, principalmente por el efecto de la pandemia. Objectives: analyzing nursing care established for newborns in accommodation set who, subsequently, underwent intra-hospital transfer. Method: a descriptive, exploratory, quantitative and qualitative research approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the University Hospital Antonio Pedro (HUAP), under protocol: 182.253/2012; and conducted with eight nurses of the accommodation set through document analysis through survey in the bank records with the application of a checklist on line of nursing care and semistructured interview. Results: in the analysis of the data, the results showed the importance of women and newborn in the same space and guidelines to escorts. The conduction of physical examination shows its effectiveness in monitoring. Conclusion: thus, nurses must perform their care upon admission and stay of the newborn in its entirety, favoring comfort and safety.
Objective: identifying the limits and the capabilities of the nurse's performance in the prenatal consultation. Method: a narrative review of literature. The choice of articles was conducted between 2005 and 2009, carried out at VHL with the following descriptors: prenatal care, prenatal assistance, nursing care and nurse assistance. The subject matters dealt in two sections: those which reported to the limits and those related to nurse's the capabilities of the nurse in prenatal appointment. Discussion: 26 productions: 21 scientific and 5 institutional. Regarding the limits of nurse's performance in prenatal care, there are: the attention focused on the biomedical model; the precariousness of resources and the ignorance of the nurse's work were identified as nurse's limits of performance. Capabilities: acceptance, bond and interaction, education practice of education in health and the professional commitment of the nurse's commitment. Conclusion: the positive impact of their actions on prenatal consultation is obvious, particularly when regarding the recognition of women's needs and effort to the integrality of health actions.
ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze practices considered violent in obstetric care. Method: integrative review, with data collection in the Web of Science, CINAHL, Scopus, MEDLINE, LILACS databases and the SciELO virtual library with articles of the last five years in English, Spanish and Portuguese, obtaining 13 selected articles that were submitted to the Content Analysis technique, in the Thematic Analysis modality. Results: the following categories have been identified: 'Obstetric violence: typology, definitions, legislation'; « Obstetric violence in the perception of the obstetric team »; « Obstetric violence in the perception of users ». Conclusion: obstetric violence is inserted with the practices of health professionals, such as episiotomy, kristeller maneuver, medicalization of childbirth, and care in the context of the birth process should occur in a respectful way and, thus, face acts of violence. Thus, the study contributes to the knowledge about disrespectful practices with women in the context of parturition. ABSTRACT Objective: analyze the insertion of the nurse midwife in a teaching hospital in Rio de Janeiro State. Method: descriptive, exploratory study of qualitative nature, study case type, carried out in a maternity in the mountain region, with nine healthcare professionals and six managers. The data collection occurred from December 2016 to March 2017, by semi-structured interviews that subsequently transcribed and submitted to content analysis in the thematic modality. Results: difficulties were observed for the insertion of the nurse midwife such as: lack of specialist nurses in the delivery room; absence of space for the professional autonomy; political partisans influence in the health management; acting conflict with the obstetricians; no team support, mainly with regard to workers qualification. Conclusion: this study shows the need for direct insertion of the nurse midwife in delivery and birth, especially valuing humanized care and autonomy for professional practice.
Objectives: to know the expertise of nurses in caring for postpartum women seropositive for HIV on breastfeeding; identify the interaction of nurses with women with HIV about the impossibility of breastfeeding. Method: this was a descriptive, exploratory and qualitative in nature, with twenty-three women in the rooming Antônio Pedro University Hospital (HUAP) through structured interviews and analyzed with the precepts of content analysis in thematic, after approval by the Ethics Committee of the HUAP, under nº 254.060/13. Results: the following categories emerged: disparities in the guidelines at the rooming set: natural breastfeeding; interaction of nurses rooming with HIV-positive mothers for HIV on the impossibility of breastfeeding. Conclusion: the need for guidance and awareness of women about their reasons and issues related to the inability to breastfeed.
Objective: understanding the practice of health professionals in the Human Milk Bank of protection actions and breastfeeding support. Method: a descriptive, exploratory, and a qualitative study, twenty-five health professionals of the HMB of the State of Rio de Janeiro participated through semi-structured interviews during the months from July 2012 to February 2013, and analyzed according to content analysis by thematic modality. Results: in the data analysis, the results showed that the mechanisms of the praxis of human milk bank of health professionals formed the basis for the protection and support of breastfeeding. Conclusion: it has a positive effect for breastfeeding success and contributes to the encouragement of breastfeeding in the country.
Objective: Recognizing the concerns of primiparous women about labor and birth, the nurse identify actions to mitigating the feelings of women. Method: this was a descriptive, exploratory research, qualitative in nature, with six primiparous women rooming at the University Hospital Antonio Pedro through semistructured interviews and analyzed with the principles of thematic analysis, after approval by the Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Antonio Pedro, under nº 218 283. Results: in the data analysis, the results showed their feelings and expectations regarding their relationship with labor and birth, such as fear, insecurity and anxiety. However, the presence of a companion proved to be important for inhibition of these feelings. Conclusion: the health professional should facilitate and promote care to the mother, with a resulting assistance of a trust and bond.
Objective: analyzing the perceptions of nurses about the clinical pain in neonates in neonatal intensive care unit. Method: a descriptive, exploratory study, of a qualitative approach conducted with ten nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit of the University Hospital Antônio Pedro applying a semi-structured interview for data collection, and analyzed according to thematic content analysis method. Results: understanding the mechanism of neonatal pain, which does not depend upon complete formation of myelination; lack of verbalization of the newborn and this fact complicates the assessment of pain; however we must be sensitive to other physiological and behavioral signs, such as: facial mimicry, heart and respiratory rate, systolic blood pressure, oxygen saturation, palmar sweating and vagal tone. Conclusion: it is a practice to be rethought the use of protocols and scales for the evaluation of indicators of neonatal pain.

Método: estudo reflexivo, realizado a partir da leitura de artigos e manual. A busca de informações foi realizada em abril de 2014, pelo acesso on-line, e após a leitura e fichamento da literatura, procedeu-se a análise descritiva, o que contribuiu para a reflexão sobre a violência obstétrica. Objective: analyzing the values expressed in the speech of women/mothers in the accessibility of monitoring examinations of prenatal care. Method: a phenomenological, descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach. There were interviwed fifty women/pregnant of the Prenatal Program of Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The data analyzed allowed formulating themes articulated with the Theory of Values. Results: barriers experienced by women on laboratory/images examinations: delay in results, misinformation and lack of a service of quality, a value considered of vital use for them. We realize the need for change in monitoring prenatal, considering a network of unified and integrated health with quality services at different levels of care, promoting wellness, comfort and safety to pregnant women as a vital value to their health. Conclusion: the health network should be unified for a better quality of services offered to women.
Objectives: to understand the indicators of quality of care for intravenous therapy in the neonatal intensive care unit of a university hospital. Method: a non-experimental descriptive study with a quantitative approach in the NICU of a university hospital, through a systematic survey on the protocol of intravenous care: peripheral venous access, PICC and central venous catheter. Excel and presented in tables - statistical treatment, where the data were pooled and processed in Microsoft Office program was conducted. The study was approved by the CEP HUAP/UFF under Protocol 01660412.9.0000.5243 . Results: in the data analysis, the results showed a greater need for technical training and maintenance of venous access catheter peripheral, PICC, and umbilical catheter. Conclusion: so, the health professional should facilitate and promote patient safety for the sake of your well being and quality of life, avoiding the risks and adverse effects.
