Deliverable 1.1 – Data Management Plan (DMP) is related to WP1 – Coordination and management, Task 1.4 - Data protection, data management plan and ethics compliance. Task 1.4 runs for the entire duration of the project to ensure that the implementation of reCreating Europe adheres to the EU legal and normative framework, as well as to key ethical and societal values and principles. ReCreating Europe's Compliance Framework (CF) is developed as a structured set of guidelines covering the broadest possible spectrum of legal and ethical issues arising during the development of the project, considering, in particular, the rights of all relevant stakeholders and actors, both as end-users and as participants in surveys, workshops, and semistructured interviews. This DMP records the procedures for data management within the reCreating Europe project. It documents the types of data the project will generate or collect, the standards and platforms that will be used for storage and processing, measures to assure legal compliance, and the plan for how these data will be curated and preserved to enable maximal future exploitation, sharing and re-use. It represents the general strategy of reCreating Europe Consortium to establish a FAIR ecosystem on research data developed during the project in order to fulfil the Open Research Data Pilot policy. It has been already identified that several project's research activities will involve human participants, some of them being vulnerable, and the collection and processing of personal data will require the collection of informed consent and ethics clearance. The realisation of cross-border, multinational management of FAIR research data and the related participation of EU Member States in EOSC services require substantial efforts for legal reforms. As highlighted by a gap analysis, the European copyright and data protection legal frameworks present considerable flaws, which call for a prompt intervention by both EU and national policymakers. The issuance of a wide variety of calls for action and/or recommendations on the topic of Open Science, broadly intended, corroborates this need for policy guidance. Most of the existing recommendations focus on a sector, if not a case-specific perspective relating to the stakeholders advancing them. Taking stock and building on old and new developments of the European policy landscape on Open Access, Open Science and FAIR research principles, the recommendations presented in the following pages boast the added value of embracing a holistic perspective on both copyright and data protection laws. Thus encompassing a multi-faceted account of the legislative and non-legislative reforms needed to pave the way towards effective, open, and inclusive research environments in Europe. The recommendations presented here reflect a selection of the most relevant identified shortcomings of the current regulations, which have been operated based on three criteria: The relevance of the legal obstacles at comparative level (e.g., profound regulatory fragmentation and divergences across the five EOSC-Pillar Member States); The relevance of the legal obstacles to the guidelines issued for the benefit of individual stakeholders (e.g., specific needs to facilitate good practises); The urgency of intervention upon provisions, whose modernisation has been deemed to be long overdue. This is a digest of the recommendations included in Deliverable 4.6 "Legal and Policy Framework and Federation Blueprint" and was produced by the EOSC-Pillar project.

Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy is the gold standard in the detection and treatment ofearly and advanced GI cancers. However, conventional endoscopic techniques are technicallydemanding and require visual-spatial skills and significant hands-on experience. GI endoscopysimulators represent a valid solution to allow doctors to practice in a pre-clinical scenario. From thefirst endoscopy mannequin, developed in 1969, several simulation platforms have been developed,ranging from purely mechanical systems to more complex mechatronic devices and animal-basedmodels. Considering the recent advancement of technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, augmentedreality, robotics), simulation platforms can now reach high levels of realism, representing a valid andsmart alternative to standard trainee/mentor learning programs. This is particularly true nowadays,when the current demographic trend and the most recent pandemic demand, more than ever, theability to cope with many patients. This review offers a broad view of the technology available for GIendoscopy training, including platforms currently in the market and the relevant advancements inthis research and application field.
