This study is to see the effect of tail suits on the political choices of Balinese people who are known to have the highest identification of political parties in Indonesia ahead of simultaneous elections (pemilu serentak) in 2019. The method used is quantitative research methods with 1,120 respondents spreading across all regenciess/cities in Bali. The sampling technique applied was multistage random sampling, so the margin of error was 3%. The results of this study indicate the tail coat effect present in the community which has a strong identification of political parties. It's just that the tail coat effect reads smaller than ID party in the political choices of the Balinese people.
This research explains the relationships between gender stereotypes that live inside patriarchal culture among Balinese with voting behaviour of female candidates in the 2014 legislative election. Using quantitative method, the number of the samples are 800 which are proportionally spread in all Bali regencies and cities. The margin of error of this research is 3% at 95% confidence level. The sampling technique used is multi stage random sampling. The research findings suggest that in the 2014 legislative election, only 4% of the Balinese respondents voted for female candidates. This is due to the gender stereotyping factor, where there are very few issues or policies that are considered more capable of being resolved by female politicians. Almost all the issues that become problems in the daily life of the Balinese people are considered by the respondents to be better resolved by male politician
This research to describe the factors that can influence the victory of female candidates from the Perindo party in the Asahan Regency DPRD in the 2019 legislative elections. The community environment in Asahan which is still thick with patriarchal culture is one of the challenges that must be faced by female candidates. Factors that influence the victory of female candidates are the values possessed by female candidates and the closest male figures who support female candidates and have strengths that can be utilized. Therefore, the researcher used the concept of Male Power Relations to describe the winning factors for female candidates in Asahan. This research then found the answer that the victory of female candidates was influenced by the male power relation which was not absolute, the figure of female candidates and the proportional electoral system.
Research tried to find out the subject matter in the parking policy at the minimarket in 2019 and knew the plans of Bapenda and Dishub after temporarily dismissing the parking policy. The study used the theory of State and Illegality Edward Aspinall &van Klinken. Research methods are used in the form of qualitative research types with data search through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are first, the Bekasi City Government wants to take advantage of the tax potential that can be obtained from parking in the minimarket, because it can be used as an opinion for the Bekasi City area. Second, in 2019 Bapenda engaged the organization to be the party that manages parking in the minimarket because to realize the vision-mission of the Mayor of Bekasi itself, one of the visions that Bapenda wants to realize is to create the widest range of jobs. Third, Bapenda and Dishub are currently conducting a review of the parking policy in the minimarket which has been temporarily stopped after problems between the minimarket and the organization in 2019. Bapenda and Dishub are planning to make a policy of paying contributions to parking at minimarkets. The contribution payment policy that is being designed as a form of seriousness of the Bekasi City Government in the desire to use parking in the potentially taxable minimarket.
This research seeks to find out the role of youth figures to help candidate in North Sumatra Election 2018. This study was designed using local strongmen theory by Joel. S. Migdal to find out the power and influence youth figures in helping the victory of candidate pairs at the time of the election. The descriptive qualitative methodology, which incorporated both primary and secondary data collecting methods, was used in this study because it portrays the role of local strongmen in the North Sumatra Election 2018. The results: first, the local strongman used the influence and experience he gained to consolidate, socialize, and form networks. Second, the type of networks that local strongman have when he helping the candidates, social networks and political networks. Local strongmen form social relationships with the leadership of community organizations through their influence, local strongman form political relationships with candidate spouses. The Regional Head Election of Labuhanbatu Regency is one of the forums for political participation for the public. The results of the independent candidate's vote in the Labuhanbatu Regency Election 2015 were able to compete with political party candidate. This phenomenon shows the public interest in choosing independent candidates. This research aims to determine how the effect of public perception on interest in choosing independent regional head candidate. Research method uses hypothesis test between X variable (perception) and Y variable (interest) and looks for the relationship between it. Population in research were voters in Rantau Utara District. Research used questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents who were selected through a sampling technique. Data analysis technique using cross tabulation, Pearson correlation and hypothesis test. ABSTRAK Figur merupakan faktor utama dalam pemenangan pemilu. Faktor ini mempengaruhi keterpilihan seorang calon legislatif dalam pemilihan umum tahun 2014 di Kabupaten Klungkung khususnya Dapil Nusa Penida. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana faktor figur menjadi pengaruh terpilihnya seseorang sebagai anggota legislatif. Permasalahan dari penelitian ini adalah mengapa faktor figur dapat mempengaruhi keterpilihan anggota legislatif Partai Gerindra di DPRD Kabupaten Klungkung pada pemilu 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, sumber data dalam peneletian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder dan melakukan penentuan informan dengan membuat tabel matrix informan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara dengan informan yang sudah dipilih dan mengumpulkan dokumen yang berkaitan dengan materi penelitian. ABSTRAK Stand-up comedy yang telah populer lima tahun terakhir di Indonesia menyajikan sebuah bentuk hiburan baru di masyarakat Indonesia. Pementasan sebuah komedi yang dilakukan dengan monolog menjadikan comic sebagai pelaku stand-up comedy menjadi pusat perhatian penonton. Berbagai macam hal dapat dijadikan materi oleh comic, dan sering mengangkat isu-isu yang sedang berkembang. Tidak hanya mencari tawa melalui stand-up comedy nyatanya juga dapat mendekati isu-isu sensitif seperti politik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut , menjadi menarik kemudian adalah bagaimana stand-up comedy dapat dikatakan sebagai bentuk dari komunisai politik di Indonesia. Cara penyampaian pesan yang dilakukan Sammy sebagai subjek penelitian juga akan memperlihatkan, bagaimana pesan politik dapat disampaikan melalui hal yang ringan seperti stand-up comedy. Pemilihan metode analisis isi menjadi tepat digunakan dalam menjawab masalah yang ingin diketahui. Penggunaan teori terkait seni penyampaian pesan yakni retorika juga relevan digunakan dalam menganalisis pesan politik yang terkandung didalam stand-up comedy. Penyampaian pesan politik oleh Sammy Notaslimboy melalui stand-up comedy dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, mulai dari penyampaian bit yang memiliki pola serupa dan terbagi menjadi beberapa bagian, sampai penggunaan bentuk emosional dengan menggunakan kata-kata maupun penggunaan intonasi. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi dan teori retorika dalam meneliti stand-up comedy sebagai bentuk komunikasi politik, dapat diketahui bahwa stand-up comedy merupakan salah satu bentuk dari komunikasi politik. This study aims to determine the dynamics of actors in the formulation of Denpasar City Regulation Number 3 of 2020 concerning Gender Mainstreaming. The theory of policy design by Schneider and Ingram is used for analysis the dynamics actors during the formulation of Gender Mainstreaming policies in the parliament. In addition, the political theory of presence is also used for analysis the existence of women in the substance of the policy. By using qualitative methods through interviews, the results of the research are as follows: First, the dynamics of actors in the formulation of Gender Mainstreaming policies can be seen when determining the percentage substance in Article 15 Section 2. Second, the resulting Gender Mainstreaming policy is a sub-optimal policy because the resulting policy is administrative and technocratic. Third, gender mainstreaming policy formulation stops at the level of framing dynamics and at the level of descriptive presence.
This study aims to find out how the strategy of the incumbent actor in maintaining the position of village head in the simultaneous village head election in Pitra village, Penebel sub-district, Tabanan district in 2019. This research is framed with the Rational Choice theory from Barbara Geddes to see the rational choice of the actor who started it. with preferences which are then realized using the three basic frameworks of rational choice from Barbara Geddes and assisted by the presence of a local cultural component, namely the Stakeholder profession. Creating a loyal political machine and also streamlining the entire work program. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method using primary data and secondary data, because this study describes the strategy of incumbent actors in maintaining the position of village head in simultaneous village head elections in Pitra village, Penebel district, Tabanan district in 2019. An example of the existence of political contestation is the implementation of general elections. After conducting early observations, the authors found data that PSI or the Indonesian Solidarity Party managed to win two seats for Denpasar City Parliament in the 2019 Election and overthrew several incumbent candidates. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the strategy of newcomer candidates from PSI in winning seats in the Denpasar City Parliament in the 2019 Election. Based on the patterns built by PSI and looking at relevant previous studies, the author uses political marketing theory and also primordial sentiment theory so that it succeeded in obtaining research findings, first, the political parties have a large enough contribution to help wining the candidates. Second, the candidates rely on a door-to-door marketing approach. Third, there was a tendency to rely on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-groups. This research attempts to determine political marketing of Anies-Sandi in the first round of the 2017 Jakarta Governor Election by using the 4P political marketing theory by Niffenegger which is a strategy used by candidates in campaign activities that aim to influence voters during the general election. This strategy was used as a political communication tool towards society to branding their visions and missions, then became the focus of this research. The results indicate that Anies-Sandi have well-applied the principles of political marketing strategies with the 4P concept, namely product, promotion, price, and place. As the winning team and volunteers do the marketing of their political products during the campaign through media and publications, by calculating costs and candidate images, as well as information dissemination strategies through winning posts spread out across every area of Jakarta. With the result that Anies-Sandi won the 2017 Jakarta Governor Election.
Indonesia has decided to hold simultaneous local elections on December 9, 2020, even though the country and the rest of the world still face the COVID-19 pandemic. The local election stages have begun in June 2020 by forming a unit to update data of voters and socialize how to hold the elections during the pandemic. This paper aims to build communication strategies in socializing how to hold the elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results were obtained using the survey method involving 440 respondents in Denpasar in September 2020. The communication strategy is a combination of offline and online mediums. Despite a policy to stay at home, data shows that residents of Denpasar still needed offline mediums such as billboards and banners. In addition, they also searched for information about the election through printed advertisements and television advertisements. To ensure the smooth socialization of election process, the General Election Commission (KPU) in Denpasar uses accounts in social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook in collaboration with parties that have a large number of followers or mass media that have accounts in social media with a large number of followers. However, almost all respondents do not follow the official account of KPU Denpasar. Uniquely, in Denpasar, some potential voters still rely on community leaders and figures in searching for information about the local election. To that end, to build communication strategies, these community leaders and figures should be involved. Data also show that online meeting like zoom, google meet, or Webex meeting is not sufficient.
