The paper discusses Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar's The Adivasi Will Not Dance (2015) that takes forth the voice of the culturally marginalised, politically subjugated, economically challenged community, Santhal tribe, deprived of their land, person and protection. In the premise of his short story, Shekhar erudite on the cultural integrity of the SanthalWat of Jharkhand exploited and exiled in the same measure. Shekhar paints a poignant tale of a community struggling and at war with the State, which is both indifferent and unforthcoming in identifying with their understanding of life and manner. The Adivasi Will Not Dance recites the tale of a man, in whom resonates the utter despair of the whole community and also their strong resistance to the State that continually fails to identify with their ethos.

This article discusses the dominance the US has over the Middle Eastern oil industry. It explores the timeline in which this happened, dating back to the collapse of the Bretton Woods system, as well as how strong their dominance is in the current world. The US has created numerous wars to maintain its oil hegemony and has dismantled governments in countries that do not act according to American oil interests. There have been multiple threats to the Bretton Woods system including structural issues and fierce competition. The petro-yuan has become a major component of the world oil trade and diminishing relations between the US and its trade allies could ultimately end the dollar's currency dominance.

Mass attitudes in a monarchy context are understudied relative to those in advanced and new democracies. By employing the case of a monarchy enclave in Yogyakarta province, Indonesia, this article tries to uncover mass attitudes towards democracy in such a setting. It is based on public opinion surveys conducted by PolGov Universitas Gadjah Mada with 2181 respondents. The study finds a strong existence of obedient liberals, i.e. people who believe in liberal views and embrace values of self-expression but are proud of having a non-democratic political system. While this distinguished attitude revisits Almond and Verba's allegiant citizens, this article aligns with the revisionists of the civic culture model by arguing that a political regime, i.e. the monarchy enclave, helps pave the way for the presence and persistence of obedient-liberal mass attitudes. This distinct mass attitude in turn explains how the monarchy enclave has survived for decades.
