Türkiye ile Avrupa Birliği ilişkileri, AB'ye aday diğer ülkelerle kıyaslandığında apayrı bir çizgide ilerlemektedir. Türkiye dışındaki aday ülkelerde teknik düzeyde ilerleyen ilişkiler, konu Türkiye olunca farklı bir bakış açısıyla değerlendirilmektedir. Siyasi bir bakış açısına bürünen ilişkiler, son yıllarda iyice belirgin hale gelerek her iki tarafı daha da siyasi düşünerek hamleler yapmaya zorlamaktadır. Suriye'de olaylar yüzünden ülkelerinden kaçan ve açık kapı politikası izleyen Türkiye'ye sığınan Suriyeli sığınmacıların özellikle 2015 yılından itibaren Avrupa Birliği ülkelerine yasa dışı yollarla girmeleri sonucu tarihindeki en büyük krizlerden birini yaşayan AB, bu insanlık krizinde iyi bir sınav verememiş ve kendi içinde sorunu çözememiştir. AB, son dönemde Türkiye ile ilişkilerinin iyi olmamasına rağmen göçmen krizini çözmek için Türkiye'nin kapısını çalmış ve imzalanan Türkiye-AB Geri Kabul Anlaşması ile AB-Türkiye ilişkilerinde yeni bir dönem başlamıştır. İmzalanan bu anlaşma, bir anlamda siyasi restleşmeye dönen Türkiye-AB ilişkilerinin en bariz örneğidir. Bu çalışma, son dönem Türkiye-AB ilişkilerinde düzensiz göçün etkilerini ve imzalanan geri kabul anlaşmasının olası sonuçlarını değerlendirecektir. Özellikle AB ülkeleriyle ticaret yapanlar ve bu ülkelere eğitim amacıyla gitmek isteyen öğrencilerimiz için büyük önem arz eden vize serbestisi, Türkiye açısından AB-Türkiye Geri Kabul Antlaşması'nın uygulanabilmesi için olmazsa olmaz bir şart konumundadır. Aslında AB'nin şimdiye kadar Türkiye'ye vermesi gereken vize serbestisi, ülkemiz için çok önemli olmakla birlikte vize serbestisini almak için imzaladığımız Geri Kabul Anlaşması'nın yürürlüğe girmesi, Türkiye açısından çok önemli riskler de taşımaktadır. Dolayısıyla bu anlaşma, artı ve eksileriyle detaylı bir şekilde incelenmelidir. Bu çalışma, bu anlaşmayı eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla değerlendirerek ülkemiz açısından olası riskleri göz önünde bulundurmamızın gerekliliği üzerinde duracaktır. ; Relations between the European Union and Turkey are unique compared to other EU candidate countries. The relations mainly progress at a technical level for the candidate countries except for Turkey, which is handled through a different perspective. In recent years, the relations have evidently become political, forcing both parties to make further political moves. Syrian immigrants who escaped the battle in Syria took refuge in Turkey, which adopted an open-door policy. As these refugees started to enter the European Union countries illegally especially after 2015, the European Union experienced one of the biggest crises in its history. The EU failed in this humanitarian crisis and it was unable to come up with a permanent solution for the crisis. As a result, the EU applied to Turkey to solve the refugee crisis, despite the not-so-good relations. The Readmission Agreement signed between the parties has become a turning point for the relations between the EU and Turkey. This agreement is the most obvious example of the relations between the EU and Turkey, which have turned into a kind of political showdown. This research is performed to analyze the ever-increasing irregular migration and the recently signed readmission agreement with regards to their effects on the relations between the EU and Turkey. The visa procedure required by the EU for Turkish citizens is a problem especially for those who trade with EU countries and those who want to go to these countries for educational purposes. Visa liberalization, which the EU shall offer (though it doesn't) to Turkish citizens, is an essential condition for Turkey to maintain the Readmission Agreement signed with the EU. The Readmission Agreement Turkey has signed with the EU in return for visa liberalization with the aim to solve the visa issues experienced by its citizens, poses important risks for Turkey. Therefore, this agreement should be examined in details with its pros and cons. It is important for Turkey, as a country which has evolved from a sending country into a receiving country and is in form of a significant transit to access Europe, to view this agreement through a critical perspective by taking potential risks into consideration and to implement this agreement on a burden-sharing basis
