Muhalefetin siyasal alanda inşası: Rus muhalif lider Aleksey Navalniy'in konuşmalarının retorik analizi ; Construction of the opposition in the political sphere: rhetorical analysis of russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny's political speeches
; Political communication is one of the oldest areas in the history of mankind, along with politics, state and power structure. Political communication is especially effective in the process of self-expression of society, group and individuals and in the process of creating public opinion. Now it is becoming an indispensable element of democratic societies with the media tools of today. After the disintegration of the Soviets, the hybrid postSoviet political system was organized and produced its own power and political means. In this process, democratic conventions could not be settled, and the opposition was remembered with oppression and censorship. Along with the developing communication technologies, opposition try to open their own fields. One of them is opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Because the power has prevented him from reaching the traditional media, he intensified his political communication activities on social media. Navalny has drawn public attention with the political communication techniques he used and quickly formed a serious supporter mass. Persuasion-oriented communication strategies and rhetoricthat he used have been effective in this. In this study, Navalny's political speeches were examined with rhetorical analysis.

'The first to report wins': The McDonaldization of digital journalism in Turkey
In: Journal of applied journalism & media studies
ISSN: 2049-9531
Ritzer's McDonaldization theory is based on the idea that the business model of the McDonald's has exceeded the context of restaurants and reached almost all aspects of social life. The presence of McDonaldization is still felt in many different business lines around the world. In this study, it is aimed to discuss whether the traces of McDonaldization are seen in digital journalism in Turkey. Within the scope of the study, which is exploratory rather than generalizing, semi-structured interviews were conducted with news editors from Turkey's top three most visited news websites, according to SimilarWeb's November 2019 data. The data obtained were subjected to thematic analysis. Accordingly, in digital journalism in Turkey, there are traces of efficiency, calculability, predictability, control and irrationality of rationality which constitute the dimensions of McDonaldization. It has been emphasized that the McDonaldization theory has the potential to explain the problems of digital journalism in Turkey, such as the decrease in the quality of news, the standardization of news websites and the alienation of news editors from their own products.

In: Romanian journal of communication and public relations: RJCPR, Band 24, Heft 2, S. 45-65
ISSN: 2344-5440
Although the presidential election in the United States of America (USA) in November 2020 took place under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become one of the important points in terms of digitalization and the agenda. Donald Trump, who lost the election to Joe Biden, challenged the results, and even refused to concede for some time. Joe Biden, who based his election campaign on democracy and diversity, took the oath of office as the 46th President of the United States on January 20, 2021. His inauguration ceremony was marked by a call for "unity". The ceremony became the agenda of social media as well as traditional media, and users simultaneously shared posts reflecting their views and attitudes on social media platforms. Most of these posts (on Twitter) were made using the hashtags #DonaldTrump and #inaugurationday. The discussion and political polarization that started during the election process continued after the election through social networks. In the study, the role of Twitter in digital democracy as well as its potential to serve as a public space were examined through the network and its features, interactions, and factions that were formed within the framework of the related hashtags on the inauguration day (January 20, 2021). Methodologically, social network analysis was utilized. The results indicate that the political agenda-setters on Twitter are dominating and resonate with users in terms of interaction.
