The monograph entitled "Poland in the European Union. Report 2023" is a collectively written study prepared by researchers of the Department of European Integration and Legal Studies, Collegium of World Economy, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, under the scientific editorship of Adam A. Ambroziak. This is the third edition of the cyclical report, in which the authors continue the discussion about economic and legal problems and the future of Poland in the European Union. This year the report is devoted to the important macro- and mesoeconomic (sectoral and regional) problems related to Poland's presence in the European Union (EU), as well as the integration within the EU itself. Significant advantage of this book is the discussion on current topics such as the situation in Ukraine, immigration to Poland, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, and public aid in Poland, including the COVID-19 pandemic. The book consists of 8 chapters. It is preceded by the Introduction, in which the authors present the purpose, concept, thematic scope, and content of each part.

The article concentrates on a presentation of the core of the country image and the country-of-origin effect as well as the influence of these elements on the building of the competitive advantage of business entities on foreign markets. The attention is focused on the example of Poland and Polish companies. The author tries to find out whether the image of Poland, as it is perceived abroad, may be a potentially problematic element in the expansion of Polish enterprises onto foreign markets. It seems that "Polishness" constitutes a rather neutral element of the export offer on the European market; some Polish enterprises even noticed a positive influence of the associations related to Poland. The author also submits a thesis that this rather disadvantageous perception of Poland and Poles based on the stereotypes rooted in the past is gradually improving. Upon writing this article, the results of surveys prepared by Polish institutions and universities as well as the results of an unpublished survey carried out by the author were used. Empirical research entitled "Foreign Expansion of Polish Foodstuff, Cosmetic, and Apparel Branches on German, Czech, Russian, and Ukrainian Markets" was carried out in Poland in the mid-2012.

The article emphasizes the fact that the perceived values, behaviour and attitude of consumers are among the key elements in the implementation of the electrification policy of the automotive industry in Europe. Customers' perception differs on several European markets. In Poland, single studies on a small research sample have been carried out so far. The main aim of the paper is to discover the perceived value and intention of adopting EVs by consumers in Poland. The perceived values were divided into functional and non-technical values. The analysis also took into account the socio-demographic and behavioural characteristics of potential buyers and their intentions to adopt EVs. The main data for this study's analysis was obtained from 3,129 respondents. Both the PAPI (Paper and Pen Personal Interview) and CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interview) research methods were used. The results show that internal factors influencing consumers' decisions to buy an EV (such as charging time, driving range, EV price) are more important than external factors (e.g., fuel prices, consumer characteristics, charging networks, social visibility, and social norms).
