Bringing About Industrial Democracy Within the Public Service - A Radical South Australian Response
Nearly six years have passed since the Premier of South Australia appointed a Committee to examine and outline proposals for Worker Participation in the Public Sector. This Committee's conclusions and recommendations were presented to the Government in February 1973. Since then there have been several policy changes at the political level; numerous ventures into participation schemes; research studies on Joint Consultative Councils; and varying degrees of reaction from managers, trade unionists and employees. These are, of course, too numerous to be covered completely in this paper.
