In this essay the author analyzes contemporary migration, a central issue in the globalized world, through a particular sociological point of view: the social capital. The author presents a review of the scientific results of various scholars, who for various reasons have been dealing with migration studies, using the concept of social capital as a tool for innovative analysis. Starting from this literature, the author initially introduces issues and topics related to migration studies, with the aim to formulate a classification that takes into account the different emerging approaches.

- The article analyzes contemporary migration processes, by focusing on the so-called 'second generation' in Europe and Italy. After a brief description of the different meanings attached to this definition, the article highlights some of the peculiar aspects of the Italian context and analyzes them. Italy has experienced immigration only recently in comparison to other European countries. In addition, in this country immigration is often discussed by politicians and the media as a process related only with the labour market. This makes it interesting to define some preliminary indicators and trends in relation to the presence of migrants' children in Italy. Through the analysis of statistical data and academic research, this article studies migration projects through the perspective of the 'second generation', to show this can provide an appropriate lens to understand migration trajectories in their full complexity. Additionally, this article encourages researchers to consider migration from this perspective, as it will be part of a long-term process which may be viewed, from an analytical perspective, as a trajectory, or rather as a multiplicity of potential trajectories. Keywords: Immigration, Second Generation, Immigration in Italy, Multiculturalism, Education.

AbstractThis paper is an introduction containing general reflections on on-going research where the aim is to analyze how in Italy the prostitution of persons coming from countries with a Muslim religion or culture is organized. Given the newness of the subject, presenting a description of the work carried out so far seemed like a suitable starting point with this paper; only after all research has been completed will it be possible to attempt a more significant sociologically closer linked reflection.

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a political participation scale for youth, considering both traditional and digital political participation (DTPP). The research was conducted using 458 participants from Turkey, Italy, and Romania, aged between 15 and 29 years. Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were performed to test the structural validity of the scale. EFA results illustrated that scale consisted of three factors and the total variance was 61.23%. These factors were labeled as "digital political support", "traditional political support" and "digital political following". During confirmatory factor analysis, the three-factor structure was tested, and the resulting model produced an acceptable goodness of fit The scale consists of 39 items and the reliability coefficients for each subscale vary from .92 and .95. The results show that the scale is valid and reliable to measure traditional and digital political participation of young people.
