Island: ein widerspenstiger EU-Beitrittskandidat
In: KAS international reports, Heft 5, S. 35-58
(Autorenreferat)

Tómas Ingi Olrich: Ísland og ESB
In: Icelandic Review of Politics and Administration: IRPA = Stjórnmál og stjórnsýsla, Band 7, Heft 2
ISSN: 1670-679X
Í umsögn gagnrýnanda kemur meðal annars eftirfarandi fram:
Það er ekki sjálfgefið að flokkur 15 blaðagreina standi undir því að birtast í bók. Greinar Tómas Inga þola það prýðilega. Tilgangur höfundar er að breikka grunn umræðna um Evrópusambandið með því að tengja fortíð og samtíð. Honum tekst það.
Þegar Rumsfeld lokaði Keflavíkurstöðinni
In: Icelandic Review of Politics and Administration: IRPA = Stjórnmál og stjórnsýsla, Band 7, Heft 1
ISSN: 1670-679X
Nýlega birtist vefsíða með gögnum Donalds Rumsfelds, varnarmálaráðherra Bandaríkjanna frá 20. janúar 2001 til 18. desember 2006. Gögnin á síðunni staðfestu þá skoðun mína að Rumsfeld hefði ráðið úrslitum um lokun Keflavíkurstöðvarinnar. Rumsfeld segir í ævisögu sinni Known and Unknown sem kom út í febrúar 2011: "Iceland was a wake-up call for me. If it was that hard to change our posture there changes elsewhere in the world would even be more difficult (bls. 304)."

The Security of Iceland
In: Cooperation and conflict: journal of the Nordic International Studies Association, Band 7, Heft 3-4, S. 193-208
ISSN: 1460-3691
The author attempts to analyse the present situation in Icelandic security matters. The fact is stressed that Icelanders neither have their own army nor intend to establish one. They have solved their defences within the framework of NATO by a bilateral Defence Agreement with the United States. The present Government of Iceland intends to review Icelandic policy in defence and security matters, which might lead to the Defence Force being asked to leave. In describing this situation, the author stresses the regional and global influences of Iceland's geographical position and also the present impact of her decision to extend her fishery limits from 12 to 50 miles.
